The peace and quiet that Bruce felt in the darkness got interrupted by a familiar melody. At first he isn't able to place it but as he regains consciousness he recognized it as his communicator. Slowly his eyes opened. The pupils of his eyes were greeted by the vast white landscape that is the Nexus. It took a few moments for his sight to adjust to the brightness. When finally being able to see he reached for his helmet, activating the communicator inside it.
"Yes?" He grunted
The old familiar voice that is Alfred Pennyworth immediately greeted him with the usual sass, "I told you so."
Bruce grunted as he sat up near the fountain, his head was spinning as if he had a massive hangover. "What?" Was the only thing the black armored vigilante managed to get out of his vocal cords.
I told you those games were a horrible idea. Do you have any idea how long you've been gone Master Bruce?"
Batman slowly got his aching body up from the ground, using the ledge of the fountain to stabilize his movement. Memories started to return to him as the battle of Dante's Abyss becomes clear as day once more. For Batman the brutal show of Karl ended with a showdown against some clown named Deadpool. It wasn't long before Bruce remembered everything and his mind started to calm down.
How long has it been Alfred?
The other side of the com became silent for a moment before the butler finally answered, Months master Bruce, you've been gone for months.
Silence struck the millionaire as his mind started to process the information. If I've been gone for months the others must have been long gone, if they have returned themselves. I was under the impression that once killed a prime would be given life once more, though this, being gone for months isn't what I expected. I must return home to see what has happened, and if any of the others have shown themselves.
I understand, I am on my way so we can reevaluate our positions. How is Sarah?
Miss Petrov has returned to her life before Batman, I'm sure she is still around. Though there are other pressing matters at hand.
Bruce is silent for a moment, Alfred, how did you know I returned?
Precisely that Master Bruce, I picked up a message saying the Batman appeared at the fountain. I believe they send a squad to investigate.
Understood Alfred, I'll be on the lookout.
Batman disconnected the com and looked around him, making sure no one else was near here. The coast seemed clear enough and he started to focus. Using the omnilium Bruce traded his Batman suit of armor for a nice three piece suit, removing Batman from the scene. From a distance he noticed a small group of white armored soldiers, he still had time. He started to focus once more, and it wasn't long before a bright orange Lamborghini was standing in front of him. The door opened and the millionaire playboy got in. The engine revved as Bruce took off, speeding towards the Coruscant gate.
The sports car came to a stop when it was stopped by a patrol of stormtroopers. Bruce rolled down the window, "What's the matter officer?"
One of the stormtroopers looks inside the vehicle,We are looking for the Batman, a black armored Prime who has been seen here.
Bruce shrugged behind the wheel,Haven't seen anyone fitting that description. The trooper inspects the vehicle, but soon came to the conclusion there wasn't much space to hide a second person. "Very well sir, move along."
Bruce nodded and dashed off in his vehicle, it seems his identity was still a secret. He took a chance back there but it was better than getting into a fistfight with Corusant's forces. It wasn't long before he reached the gate, he was back in Coruscant.
