Lingering Darkness

The sun had begun to set casting the verse's skies in bright and dark colors with mixes of vibrant oranges, soft pinks, pale yellows, and darkening blues. The sun it's self was orange-red and slowly sinking behind the horizon, only a bit of it's light still covered the lands below. The lands were beginning to quiet as the day dwelling animals began to sleep, opening new sounds of the coming darkness. While the day was a time of safety and light to most creatures, nightfall was the time for the dangerous and the dark. Dark Link preferred it this way. The cool, crisp air blowing gently against his inhumanly pale skin. The quiet sounds of nature deep within the bushes and trees. It was a comforting feeling that he had gotten from the Hero of Time.

His love for nature seemed to reflect onto the shadow as well. Pushing such thoughts aside the shade made his way through the darkening night his crimson red eyes searching for any source of magic he could get his hands on. He was famished! Though that was probably the wrong word for it. He wasn't actually hungry, he just felt the deep desire to feed on magic to regain what strength he had lost when entering this Omniverse. It's how he survived, almost like a vampire... or a leech. A frown graced the dark creature's visage at the thought of being compared to such a lowly insect.

With an annoyed 'Tch' sound he pushed his thoughts aside as he thought about what to do next. From what he gathered from eavesdropping on the people in the verse, people here could 'summon' things with something call "omnilium". Stopping, the doppelganger decided on trying this 'summoning' thing as he concentrated on summoning something that was familiar to him and no doubt his 'light' side as well. After three minutes had went by a small crimson red glowing 'orb' with wings had formed it's four wings twittering at great speeds as it bounced around in the air before making a 'jingling' sound that surprised Dark Link as it began to talk. "....Master?" It questioned, the voice masculine, soft, and child-like as it acknowledged it's creator. "Well what do you know? It actually worked!" A dark smirk appeared on his features as he spoke satisfaction in his tone.

"Yeah. I'm your master! And I'm gonna name you Ivan! It's that annoying fairy friend of Link's name backwards." He said before scowling at the thought of that damned thing... The fairy seemed to bob it's head in agreement of the name as it hovered close to the shadow man. "Let's go Ivan And I swear if you say "listen" just once, I'll kill you got it?" He proclaimed as the Navi mimic made the jingling sound once more afraid to anger it's master and instead followed the rogue creation further into the forest, both unaware of the encounter they would soon experience...

As the sun went down that night, Jak took the time to appreciate the beauty of the forest, watching the sky fade to a dark black and the stars came out at night. At least for now, he would have cover to protect him from being seen. Someone might think his clothing weird. A faded brown with precursor letters on it was not exactly good clothing to show up in.

An angry feeling came over Jak, as a flicker of dark eco washed over his body. He had to be on his guard at all times. Jak seemed to be confused about the whole "omnilium" concept, but he needed a new set of clothing and fast.


Instead of clothing, he closed his eyes and summoned his best friend, Daxter. Daxter was a orange Ottsel, mostly annoying but he had his strong points.

After several minutes passed, and Jak wondered if it would work...Daxter popped out of nowhere, and landed on Jak's shoulder. "What happened to you, buddy?!" "You look like you seen something like a ghost."

Jak smiled for the first time in a long time "DAX!" "It's good to see you.."

Jak was right ahead of Daxter on this one, as he tensed walking through the dark forest, not seeing exactly where they were going but who knew who they'd run into around here.

[I apologize for the wait! My muse had left me these past few weeks! :c]

The hero's shade stalked through the darkening forests, the sounds of nature seemed to quiet down to nothing at his mere presence. Dark Link didn't care really, they were just being smart- no one wants to become his next 'meal' after all... Ruby red eyes scanned the forested expanse before him, as the small ball of red light who was now known as "Ivan" floated in front of him, lighting the way ahead. The shadow was oddly quiet as he made his way through the silent forest.

Mentally he was making plans, first he needed more mana to keep up his strength. He didn't care how he got it, he needed it now. The omniverse had drained eg,g him considerably and nearly all the mana he had gathered into his body was taken from him once he crossed universes.

'That damn Omni could of least mentioned this little tidbit.' He thought aggravated as he suddenly stopped, the feel of some strange type of mana pulling him out of his thoughts. Crimson eyes stared forwards as though he was waiting for something to appear. His sharp ears with their acute sense of hearing caught the sound of voices off in the distance. One was soft yet angry, the other was loud and annoyingly jubilant. His concentrated frown soon turned into a dark smirk at the thought of a potential easy meal. And all he had to do was wait for it to come to him. His smirk broke out into a grin as his crimson eyes flashed, pulling the inverse master sword from it's sheathe- Dark Link readied himself before darting into the underbrush, intent on striking his prey.

Jak ducked, it seemed his hair stood up on end. He bent behind a bush, and covered Daxter's mouth and whispered to him "Shhh... be quiet, Dax."

Daxter's eyes wondered up at Jak's eyes, admittetly worried for his friend. What or who possibly would of spotted them around here? It was just then Daxter's hairs stood up on end and he became tense..

"We aren't alone."

Jak looked over at Daxter and frowned "Come on Dax, let's find this...person... or ...thing stalking us..."

Jak stopped as he bent over, a dark feeling washed over him and Jak gritted his teeth trying to hold that dark feeling back.

Jak's dark side whispered in his head "If you wondered, my senses feel a strong, strange feeling of ecoish energy close by. You might want to be careful... After all.. .I do want you alive.

Jak loaded one gun as he kept behind the bush.

The dark elf stopped within a small clearing in the underbrush. All around him laid obstacles that could hid his prey. The trees above and the bushes below obscured his vision, but luckily not his senses. Sharply pointed ears twitched slightly for any form of noise as crimson orbs scanned the dark underbrush for his soon to be victim. Giving a sharp short whistle that seemed to echo through out the forest area, Ivan scurried to his side in a desire to appease his master no doubt- less than stellar patience.

"Ivan, I want you to float around the area, try to light up the darker places got it?" The glowing orb nodded before zipping off to do it's said task, darting to and fro near the bushes and even up in the trees hoping to catch a glimpse of the source of strange energy that his master had felt. He'd better find something, or the poor fairy would find it's self speared by the end of the shadow creature's blade!

Jak bit his tounge holding Daxter down, as the fairy just barely missed their location. Jak gritted his teeth, now he knew he wasn't alone in this forest, but against who exactly?

Jak's ears picked up a sharp sound coming from somewhere in the forest and his eyes shifted. He held Daxter down and covered his mouth. This person must of heard Daxter....great.

Daxter was pushed to the ground, as his eyes wondered up to the fairy only slightly going over their position before it got dark again.

Jak was already prepared for a situation like this.
