Dawnika had been tailing on this man for awhile now, she was unsure of where he was heading. They'd been in this forest for about an hour now and Dawn had decided to use her shapeshifting powers to make herself a wolf. She kept a good thirty feet away from him sticking close to the trees. 'Where was he going?' was all she had on her mind.

The soft footsteps and shallow breathing of the canine shadowed the informant as he slunk through the trees. He attempted to throw it off-track a few times, weaving in and out of vines and thickets, but it proved agile and capable of maneuvering through the thick forest of the Tangled. Surely this was a prime, but why was the person targeting him? His previous mission awarded him some enemies, but didn't believe he would be tracked so soon. of course, there was the possibility that this was just a curious prime that didn't know of his background. Either way, he needed to confront this stalker of his.
The shifting of leaves and branches revealed a large clearing up ahead, perfect for a confrontation. Demetri sunk low and hid behind a tree as he vanished from sight just before he hit the clearing, making his way out into the center of it. The wolf was clearly confused as to where its prey went, carefully walking along the outskirts of the open area.
"You may as well reveal yourself," Demetri called out, though his location could not be pinpointed. "I know you have been following me. Speak to me of your intentions and commander and spare me the trouble of engaging in combat."
The wolf bared its teeth, snarling at Demetri's words. It's eyes screamed defiance, glowing red and hostile. She shall not be made a fool.
"If I must take the information by force...", Demetri warned while he prepared his attack. The clattering of chains rang as the wolf felt cold metal grasp its leg. Demetri's body was revealed as he pulled the wolf into the clearing before it tore into the chain with its jaw, ripping it off of its leg but received no injury. The damaged chain retreated into its mechanism as it quickly repaired, ready to be used again as the wolf regained its posture, growling at the man who attacked her.
"...so be it." Demetri's eyes narrowed at his opponent as he adjusted to a fighting stance. He will soon receive the answers he seeks.

Dawnika snarled after the she ripped the chain from her leg. She let out a bloodcurling howl charged her opponent filled with zeal, she was ready for a fight.
Dawnika closed in on Demetri who was bracing for the imminent attack. A grolwl could be heard as Dawnika closed in attempting to dodge his chains as they came at her. She got in close enough just as Demetri's chains retracted back. Aiming for his leg, she comes short of sinking her teeth into his leg. Demetri returns fire by tossing a kunai at her from a few feet away which nicks her front right leg. Her instincts send her back a few yards, she shapeshifts back into her human form with her sword in hand. Dawn's right forearm dripped some blood from the wound she sustained.
"I see. You are fast," she said with no inherent feelings. Her voice was calm and her face focused. "Let's test how long you can keep that up." Chains propelled towards Dawn as she charged her opponent again. She swayed left and right with her bursts of speed and sliced at the chains as they came at her. Finally close enough to launch an attack Dawnika went for a stab which Demetri was able to dodge. Still close enough Dawnika spun with swords slicing open his forearms, Demetri had raised his arms so he would not suffer wounds to the chest, with well made cuts. She continued her assualt.

"Let's test how long you can keep that up."
It was hard to read her. Unlike others he had fought, there an ominous feel to her, Demetri could see it in her eyes as she sped towards him. He quickly shot out his chains again, aiming for her chest. As he did so, he still could not pull away from her eyes; it felt as if they were burning into his soul. Demetri watched in irritation as she managed to barely deflect his shots, taking a few swipes at them before they retracted back for more repairs.
Demetri kept focused on her as she rushed him, jumping back to hopefully gain some time for his chains to repair, but she managed to get close enough to slash him with her sword. Demetri barely had the time to raise his forearms as her blade slashed at his chain devices, yet his muscles screamed in pain at the force of the attack.
Now that she was so close, he could see her eyes with such clarity, and he understood what they hid. Pain. Suffering. Numbness. Those were the eyes of someone who had seen the most treacherous and mentally debilitating events. Her skill at such a young age proved further that the place she came from was no stranger to betrayal or war. He would need to be much more careful in this fight, she would not hold back.
Once Demetri recovered from her attack, he threw two more kunai at the girl. They air gave a piercing cry as they flew through the air towards the girl's shoulders, who was quick to hold her sword up in defense. Two pings rang as the kunai cluttered to the floor, but Demetri's next attack was already in progress. The chains rattles as they sped towards her legs, the girl's eyes widening in surprise and narrowing at the same moment, keeping her calm and firm attitude.
"It is you who needs to be faster, young girl."
She swung her blade down, the sharp edge slicing the air as the chains cracked and retreated once more, but one had already hit its mark. Blood dripped down the open wound in her left calf, but she showed no signs of pain. Indeed, she had suffered worse. Now it was her turn to expose his blood.
She raised her blade as she rushed him once more, seeking to return the attack. Demetri tensed as he knew that his chains were still repairing, he would need to delay her as much as possible. Three more kunai pierced the air, only to find themselves tasting metal as they landed in the grass below. Four left. The words quietly passed in Demetri's head as he kept a mental note of his kunai supply. They hardly did much to hinder her movement, and Demetri found himself jumping back to escape her blade.
Demetri grunted as he soon slammed into a tree, his back against the hard wooden bark. He hadn't the time to dodge the next slice as it dug into his shoulder, only stopped by the wood beside him. He groaned in pain before taking the chance to kick the girls wound. She gave a soft gasp in pain as he rolled to the side, giving him a enraged look before pulling her blade out of the bark of the tree.
"Now my blade has tasted of your blood, and it will not be long before you will lie dead before me." Her words were as emotionless as her eyes. Threatening to cut him like her blade.
Demetri was already up on his feet, chains ready. Pain surged through his body from his new wound, but he wasn't going to go down that easily.

Blood dripped down her calf, she could feel the pain but she didn't show any signs that she was hurt. Lifting her leg up to wipe the blood over body she looked back up at Demetri, "Okay then, let us mix this battle up." Dawnika threw her sword in the air from her right, switched to her southpaw stance and caught the sword in her left hand. "Let us see how you handle my left hand."
Again she charged her opponent as his chains came back at her. Demetri had time to repair the chains while Dawnika was switching her stance. A chain swiped her cheek as she charged in but she did not falter. Like last time she swiped the chains as they came by so they would have to return to be repaired. Finally within Kagetsume's reach Dawnika blazed in to stike her foe. Demetri was getting better at dodging her sword until she switched to her left hand. Her attacks came from many different angles backwards to her last assault. While still being able to dodge most the attacks, he sustained a cut to his right arm and his left leg. Unable to back of from her speed, Demetri took a risk and jumped into her sword range with a kick nailing her dead in the stomach. She was sent back a few rolling onto her back coughing. The wind had been knocked out of her lungs from the unexpected kick.
With his chains repaired, Demetri launch his attack towards the immobile girl. The chains hit the ground as Dawnika narrowly dodges a fatal strike. Quick thinking gave the demon an idea, she stepped on the chains and dug her sword into the ground between the links of the chains. Now unable to move, or able to retract his chains for repairs, Dawnika charges her opponent once more with her fist and digs her knuckles into his chest followed by a kick to the stomach. The kick separates the chains causing them to break and sending Demetri back on his back he did to her. "A kick for kick, chain-man." Dawnika allowed a twisted smile to come across her face showing a little pleasure in the fight. She retrieved her sword from the ground and came back at him, a little slower now as she was beginning to become fatigued, especially from the kick to her stomach.

Demetri coughed and wheezed as he regained his footing, giving a smirk to the girl. He had to admit, he didn't expect her to be ambidextrous. It wasn't something he was able to read off of her with his senses. He gave a smirk as he picked himself up off the floor, his right chain still under repairs from the girl's previous assault.
"You're tougher and smarter than you look... that was an impressive move, managed to catch me off-guard." His muscles ached and his breathing was heavy as the pain from his new injuries coursed through his body. He hoped there were no other tricks up this girl's sleeves, but at least he now knew about her ability to use either hand for her weapon. Next time she wouldn’t be so lucky with her strikes.
Demetri eyed the surrounding area, focusing on the trees around them. A smile cracked his face as a chain was shot out, grasping the branch of a tree behind his opponent. The girl raised an eyebrow at Demetri’s actions before realizing his next move, but he was already in motion and it was too late to dodge. She held up her sword as his feet pressed against its heavy steel, pushing it against her. She fell back from the force into a backwards rolls as Demetri flipped and landed on his feet behind her.
“I guess that puts me at two kicks and you at one. I would say that means I am winning our little skirmish.” Demetri spoke with a grin as his opponent gathered their senses. It seemed that she deflected most of the blow, but it was obvious that the fatigue was wearing at her. She was good at hiding it, stabilizing her breath, focusing her eyes and emotion, but Demetri was not an easy one to fool. Perhaps since they were both at an even match of injury, he could talk her out of this fight.
“You realize that all it takes it to tell me why you are following me to end this battle?” Demetri called her out, hoping to get an answer, for both his sake and hers. At first he figured he could beat her and force her to give him the information, but it seemed that she was not one to back down or surrender. Demetri realized that he would hate to have to end the life of a young girl, even if she had the prowess and mentality of a woman double her age, as well as powerful enough to end his life, but if circumstances led to it, he would not hesitate to put her down.
“We can go our separate ways, just tell me who sent you, or why i have piqued your interest. Or maybe you were looking for a fight.” His voice gave away his weary state, but he was firm and confident in his stance. In any instance, he would be ready for a counterattack.

Dawnika felt pain just from the intial force of his feet against her sword. The shear force sent her flying back and rolling into a tree. Her head slamed into the tree trunk. Rubbing the back of her head she looked at her hand covered in blood now, her head was bleeding she needed to end this soon.
Demetri requests her stand down and she just laughes. "Expecting information before you beat me? I'll give you my reason if you can make me yield." Dawnika stood up and gripped her swordtightly. It's time for my trump card. Don't fail me Kagetsume. Both her hands gripped the hilt. Her eyes glimmered with a bright red. "Now it's time for Kendo stance!"
Dawnika let out a battle cry as she once again charged Demetri again. His chains came back at her only now when she sliced them it split them in half. The mainly due to her two handed precistion, allowing her to aim on weakspots better. Demetri's chains need to replenish now isbher chance. Dawnika leaped into the air pressing her foot onto his injured shoulder and pressing him to the ground. She let out a demonic yell and soved the sword through his other shoulder. Intially she was aiming for his neck but the crash on her head missaimed her attack. The blade twisted into his shoulder as he thows Dawnika off him. She falls on her back and stood back up. Her clothes were tattered from the constant bashing she was sustaining. Her breathing was extremely heavy, she couldn't go much longer.

The world around blurred with red, pain filled Demetri's mind and body as he stared at his opponent. It was clearly a fatal wound if he didn't treat it soon. This needed to end now. His eyes burned with determination and desperation as his opponent stood before him. He could sense the kunai that lay scattered about, feeling their presence and knowing what he was to do next.
Demetri grabbed the remaining four and threw each one, two with each hand. They flew past the girl, who's eyes widened with surprise and curiosity as they landed far behind her. Demetri closed his eyes, relying only on his senses to guide him, to focus past the pain and weakness. This may be his final attack, he had to make it count. His chains flew out as the girl charged him, ready to continue her assault, and watched as Demetri shot his chains to the side and charged her back. She did not hesitate and swung through, expecting her blade the meet flesh, but it came back hungry, having only tasted air. Demetri jumped up and over the swing, somersaulting over the girls head as his chains came back to him, like dogs upon their owner's whistle.
Suddenly, Dawn felt a sharp pain in her right knee and her left shoulder, and looked to find two kunai implanted in her. She quickly puled them out, the pain now stimulating every time she moved the two limbs. Fatigue quickly accelerated for her as she faced her opponent once more, who had already begun his second barrage of blades. She quickly turned to catch one with her blade, but felt another pierce her back and grunted with pain. She hadn't the time to deflect both, especially from two different direction and not knowing their origin. When the attacks came from the man, it was easy to find their trajectory, but this complicated things. Another two were sent her way, and she quickly rolled to the side as they flew past, missing their mark. The accuracy and skill this man held was substantial, and she respected him for it. However, that would not stop her from victory.
She turned to face her opponent once more, and was surprised to find him much closer than before, his chains already pulling the last pair of kunai. She quickly took a few swings, stopping the chains in their tracks, but opened herself up for a melee attack. Demetri took this chance to jumped towards her, his feet in front of him and landing on her chest as her reached forward with his better arm, pulled out the kunai in her back, and delivered a final kick to the girl. She fell back as she swung her weapon, catching Demetri's leg as she fell on the floor.
"Are you satisfied? Have you received what you came to me for?"
Demetri could barely stand. His past actions had taken the rest of his energy, his stance faltering and swaying as he kept his final kunai ready to defend his final breaths if need be. He could barely make out the girls figure with his nausea and fatigue from blood loss. If that last hit hadn't convinced her to submit, then he was sure to die.

The girl seemed to give a sly smile as she slowly sat up from the floor. She seemed satisfied with their battle as she gave her answer.
"Yes, actually, I did. You proved to be a great fighter. That was all I wanted to find out, if you were strong or not."
That's it? No underlying plan? No secret enemies? Just curious to his strength?
Demetri's muscles relaxed as he fell to his knees, the kunai he had held a moment earlier making a soft thud into the ground. His wounds poured out blood, giving the grass around him shades of crimson red as the cool breeze made them sway. It was quiet, save for the heavy rasping of the two fighters. Demetri closed his eyes as the warmth began to leave his body. He had lost to much blood to have any chance of survival at this point, he barely had the energy to stop himself from falling over.
"To find out if I was strong?" Demetri couldn't help but give a chuckle, abruptly followed by a coughing fit. "I hardly consider myself such a thing. Intelligent? Yes. Agile? Of course. Perceptive and strategic. It's all I do. But i would never label myself as strong."
The words dissipated into the air as the silence resumed, and Dawnika could not help but watch as her opponent life slipped away, and his body finally slump over and fall to the side. She believed he was strong, even if he had doubted it. Dawnika then looked at her own wounds, proof of her observation, but she knew she would survive. As the sun began to set, she tended her wounds with summoned supplies, taking a short time to recover and rest.
Not long after she had gained her strength back, she ventured back into the dense forest, leaving behind the man's body surrounded by bloodstained grass and lost kunai. The devices on his wrists still hummed with life as if the owner was still living, its chains shifting and adjusting as if taking aim to imaginary targets. As night fell, the girl can only wonder if she would meet others stronger than him.

After Demetri had collapsed into the grass and Dawnika had healed her injuries, she stepped up to her opponent and kneeled down to him. She wished to tell him some final words before he passed. "You are a true warrior. Nyx will guide you always, in life and after. You have a strong heart and mind. When you return to the Omniverse, I hope we are able to meet again on better terms." With her words said, Dawnika drove Kagetsume into the ground and placed her forehead on the sword's hilt and closed her as if she was praying. A few seconds her eyes opened, she bowed and reclaimed Kagetsume, and made her exit slightly limping from the pain in her legs.
