Favorite Fights (Anime/Animated Series)

[Miranda Frost]

If its one thing we love about anime and animated series as a whole is the battles that are fought in them (Depending on the show/Depending on the person watching). I used to love watching the Justice League fights (Go Green Lantern) and Dragonball Z as a kid, getting all pumped at their fights.

One of my favorites had to be in Bleach between the Soul Reaper Shuhei Hisagi and the Arrancar Findor. During the battle Shuhei explains the strength of a captain. It is a classic match up of brute strength vs strategy in which strategy tipped the scale. During the series most of the heated fights came from the huge captain-class powerhouses, but this one proves even the weaker guys can put up a fight.

What are your favorites?

[Yu Kanda]

Oh what topic have you started.... Welll let me share a coupl of my favorites with you :

1. Yu Kanda vs Skin Brolic ( Anime : D.gray man )

I mean what kind of fan would i be if i did not put my own character right up there. Kanda faces a Noah on his own and shows his true power ( at that point in the timeline ) Enjoy

2. Gohan Vs Cell ( Anime : Dragonball Z )

Everyone must have this one in his top 5 i mean its Gohan vs Cell ! Everybody probably knows and loves it but i just have to put it in this thread.

3. Kenichi Vs Odin ( Histories greatest Disciple Kenichi )

This anime has a great mixture of laughing and action. Throughout the entire show they keep "Power Levels" pretty well balanced as the main character is never as powerful as his masters are. ( For example Naruto surpassed basically everyone halfway through the series ) This fight is the final battle of the series so if you do not want to be spoiled don't click it. This anime is an absolute tip for anyone who hasn't seen it. Also one of the characters i was considering.

For the people that do know it : APPAAAAAAAA !

4 Tsunayoshi Sawada vs Xanxus ( Katekyo Hitman Reborn )

Not many people know this anime. I was very close to picking Sawada as my main character to write for here in the omniverse. this fight is pretty early on in the show but its amazing.

And to make it a top 5

5. Madarame Ikkaku VS Edorad Leones ( Bleach )

My personal favorie from the bleach series. The moment where Ikkaku releases is just amazing, also the music still gives me goosebumps.
( i'm afraid all i can offer is the AMV link )

Edit
Special mention : Rock lee vs Gaara ( HOW COULD I FORGET THIS ONE )

[Kakashi Hatake]

Roy Mustang vs Lust (FMA: Brotherhood)

Simply one of the best scenes I've seen in an anime. Some may argue differently, but to me it's hard to be more badass than Mustang. Also, don't fuck with Hawkeye.

I hate the awkward insertion of slapstick bullshit in the middle of tense scenes? Like, why did they do that??

[Kakashi Hatake]

Yeah, those bits annoy me too; I try to ignore them. I suppose they were trying to keep it from getting too dark? Possibly trying to keep younger audiences entertained with the boob humor.

[Undyne]

I loved most of the fights that took place in Kill la Kill because they're so over-the-top without going entirely batshit or sacrificing the story. But the one where Ryuko fights Satsuki took the crown for me, because it compresses so much awesome story, plot twists and great animation into "only" six minutes of fighting. Spoilers within!
My favorite part is 100% how Ryuko stops being embarassed with Senketsu being so skimpy and unlocking her true potential. It's such a perfect metaphor for a girl ashamed of herself as she grows up, who blossoms into a woman.
[Sarah Kerrigan]

hmm, the majority of fights I consider my favorites haven't happened in animated form, but I'll see what I can list:

The first one I can think of is actually from the Clone wars show:

Ths might be the best lightsaber duel in the entire series. it's wild, animated, and just flat-out fun, and it's very meaningful and interesting. This fight reminded me of the star wars OT lightsaber duels, where the battles weren't simply sabers flung at eachother to be cool but had true meaning, where the difference between the fighters and their styles was readily apparent. This combined that atmosphere with the faster pace and great effects the prequel and show had to offer, and the different angles and scenes only really doable in an animated format.
Helps I'm a maul fan, I suppose.

Outside of that, for an actual anime fight:

Hiei vs. Bui immediately comes to mind.
Yu Yu Hakusho's full of a lot of good fights and a lot of awesome stuff, but rather than linking the majority of Yusuke's fights, this one'd be simpler:

It's simple, short, but with a lot of tension and some pretty great animation for the time to top it off.

It's hard for me to pick just one favourite, but here's a few I love:

Kazuno vs El Azul - Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere
Reasoning:
Basically, I think that the El Azul is the most epic-looking mecha I've ever seen. Also, whilst Kazuno is far from being the most powerful character in this anime (as evidenced by the fact that Tadakatsu {the old guy} could take down one of those mechas so much easier than she could), she's just so damn badass. I know it's just because - being a robot - she doesn't actually possess emotions, but even so, I can't help but love how calm and collected she is even when in mortal combat. And seriously, is gravity control not just the coolest ability ever?
Mikuni vs Jennifer - C for Control
Reasoning:
Sadly, the guy who made that video chose to cut out random segments of the fight, so it's less epic than it should be. Also, it wasn't even the one I was originally planning on listing from this anime; but I couldn't find an english subbed/dubbed version of the other one, so whatever. This is still pretty epic. "Cannibalisation" is such a cool move, and Q is an awesome character; she alternates between adorable when she isn't being a monster, and nigh-unstoppable when she is. ^_^
Suzaku vs Kallen - Code Geass (A.K.A. The only fight I've listed that anyone here might actually have seen before)
Reasoning:
Well, for one thing; I love that there are no bad guys in this fight. They have conflicting ideals, yet Suzaku & Kallen are undoubtedly both good people. Its pretty rare among animes... among pretty much every type of entertainment, actually... to see enemies who are both fighting for a just cause. Not just something they've been lead to believe, is just, but something which actually, undeniably, is.
Within the system or without, they're both fighting to protect the oppressed in their own ways, they're equals, and they're both amazing pilots who own two of the coolest mechs in anime. Awesomeness.
Also, Code Geass has what is undoubtedly my favourite animation style ever. The thin, sharp-looking character designs are so cool-looking. <3
I would have included Mustang vs Lust as well, if Kakashi hadn't already posted the clip... so instead I'll add Zelman vs Cassandra, from Black Blood Brothers... or I would, if I could find a proper clip of the fight. This AMV is the closest I could get, though, so I'll post it:
Reasoning:
Okay... to be honest, I don't even know if this can be classed as a fight. Cassandra is the series' main villain... and yet Zelman outclasses her utterly & effortlessly. If he was the protagonist then this series would have been very short, and pretty boring. Because no one can beat him.
What I love about this scene is that I totally thought that it was gonna go the other way when I first watched it. Zelman had spent the first half of the series trying to make himself out to be some kinda unstoppable badass, whilst lazing around his house and not really doing anything constructive... the more dramatic (and more generic) approach would have been to have Cassandra kill him, in order to build her up as a threat, and so increase the epicness of Jiro(the protagonist)'s victory when he eventually overcame her... instead, they opted to have Zelman beat her easily... and in so doing, made him easily the most powerful individual in the series. And I for one loved that choice.
[Professor Layton]

I just had to post this one. The fight itself begins at 1:00.

I had to post a couple of Layton.

Not best quality, but still Layton.

Again, it's Layton.

And this is also RWBY. Epic.

Dun.

Oh, good. I was going to do this if no one else had. ||p

[Kakashi Hatake]

Vegeta vs. Beerus (Dragonball Z: Battle of Gods)

Not really too long of a fight, but I liked it. You don't mess with Vegeta's Bulma.

[Dawnika Snow]

Kenpachi Zaraki vs Nnoitora Jiruga (cant post vid)

[Belle]

Kenpachi vs. Nnoitra is a goodie, I'll agree. But I was always a huge Kenpachi fanboy. Unlike almost everyone else in the series, Kenpachi just knows what he loves to do and fucking does it.

Most fights in Jojo are close to my faves right now. Battling Dio in Stardust Crusaders is way up there.

I'm also liking Steven Universe's stuff. Garnet vs. Jasper is incredibly brief by comparison, but great.
