Desco ran slowly through the Nexus with the two Prinnies in tow. As she got closer and closer to the gate, more and more traffic was passing through from small vehicles putting along to foot traffic. It was a busy gate unlike the Tangled Greens gate that Desco had used before. What was notable was the high amount of technology among people in the area as people passed by in sleek cars and wore modern and future age clothing. Stormtroopers were all over the place too, perhaps it was so busy due to the event that was starting up. and passed through the Nexus entrance to Coruscant Tier 1. She didn't know what it was and only looked at it curiously, but she passed by a booth and gate set up to take people to the Danteverse for the Omniverse wide event. Desco was too focused on her current objective to pay attention to the survival game that was about to take place.
Watched by the Stormtroopers at the gate, Desco passed through and entered Coruscant. From inside Desco had a decent view of the beauty that Coruscant has to offer to vistors. Skyscrapers in the distance and the abundance of intricate structures and patches of green reminded Desco of home in Tokyo, Japan. Though it was quite a bit more advanced than the modern age version of Tokyo, her time spend in the Omniverse was mostly in the forest and jungle and before this she was in Hades which looked nothing like a modern city so felt a bit nostalgic of the design. Desco took no notice of the empire presence around her. The cameras and stormtroopers were transparent to her young eyes and she had gotten used to such things while she was raised in the laboratory albeit in a much smaller scale. She looked around and soon spotted an automated yellow skycare that was running the word Desco around its advertisement ring that circled the cab. "Hey Dood, its been fun and all but you don't really need us for this." "Yea Dood, I need a drink." "Oh, okay. You Prinnes can go away, Desco is going to help Daddy. Maybe we will meet again later?" "Sure Dood."
Desco hitched a ride and was off through the skys. She looked out of the tinted windows as she passed by a variety of awe-inspiring scenery. She took to the raise in technology from Tokyo like a duck to water, she had been raised around a higher standard than Earth normally had access to and when she moved to Hades there was a huge range of tech from medieval to futuristic often enhanced by magic. The cab zipped along for quite some distance, then it dived and floated along the ground in an area that wasn't so busy as the others. In an instant it shot at a seeming wall that opened at the last moment and closed just as quickly, and now she was passing through a white tunnel with a pattern of lights that created a pattern of shadows on the ground and ceilling at the mid points between them. The cab had automatically found a route to the entrance with the least amount of traffic around it and dived in to take Desco to the secret research area in the Empire where her father worked.
Desco waited patiently for some time and the tunnel changed shape along the way taking her down and turning a couple times until she finally came to a docking station. Desco got out of the skycar and saw that her father was waiting for her, he had to escort her from here until he got her to the lab for security reasons as otherwise she'd quickly be stopped and arrested. A smile spread on Desco's face as she started to get excited again. "Daddy!" Desco ran at her father and he picked her up and held her out. "My my! Look how big you've gotten." He smiled back and looked closely at her body, then brought her in for a hug before setting her down again. "Now come along Desco, we have a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it!" Desco reached out and grabbed one of Genjuro's hands. "Okay!"

Genjuro led Desco up to a door and slid an id card through along with a retina scan and a 10 digit id code. The empire spared no expense in setting securities in the research laboratory and with Primes able to manipulate Ominilium to their advantage many security measures couldn't stop a determined hacker. He led Desco down the corridor and into an open room with test tubes all over the place filled with a variety of experimental creatures. Various clones and spliced creatures were floating in the tubes, though the biggest one was empty at the moment. "I have a little device I've been working on that is going to be used in Dante's Abyss. I helped as a consultant and with the full blueprints I've been trying to modify the design to accommodate more mundane usage. You saw those booths in the Nexus" "Desco did see those! She didn't know what they were for." Genjuro opened another door and brought Desco into a huge empty room with windows and a control room in the middle of one wall. Various doors and hatches were all over the room though they were smooth against the ground, walls, and ceiling when closed.
He walked Desco over to the control room and stopped at its door. "You see Desco, the collars are designed to prevent Primes from using their abilities. However the original only works due to the special physics with the Danteverse that Dante's Abyss is going to take place in. Out here in the normal verses with normal Omniphysics, they don't do a thing which is why I've been redesigning them to function outside the Danteverse. First I want you to experience the original collar." Desco wasn't exactly sure what was about to happen but she trusted her father with whatever he wanted to do to her. So she nodded and waited outside while he went into the control room and started to type on a computer. A hidden speaker turned on and spoke with his voice, while a huge hatch opened up and brought up a big platform with some kind of sophisticated isolation bubble. Another hatch opened but a much smaller one that sent out a floating platform with a collar on it. "I want you to put on the collar and go into the dimension chamber." "Uh, okay daddy!" Desco took the collar and clicked it around her neck. While based on the original design, this was a lighter model of the original collar that did not include the security protections to prevent it from being taken off on penalty of death.
Desco walked up to the champer and the door opened automatically, the spherical door made of many pieces spinning into the frame to open up, and then close behind Desco. Another speaker was in there as well. "Now hold on a minute." The sounds of electronics starting up and whirring into action filled the air as the machine began its start-up processes. The chamber filled with a light blue light that grew brighter and brighter, so bright that Desco had to close her eyes while the machine started to change the physics inside to match that of the Danteverse. After what seemed like forever, the light broke and Desco opened her eyes to see... well nothing different that she could tell. "Now try to use your moves Desco, your Magic and other skills." Desco held up one hand and tried to cast her magic but nothing happened. She focused but the pressure of magical usage didn't come. "Desco can't cast magic..." Then she tried other things and then as a last resort she tried to use her super skill. She summoned Yogsothoth which appeared behind her and started to charge up magical energy inside the mouths of two tentacles. It breathed out that magic, one fire and one ice both mixed with wind magic. The blasts struck the side of the chamber and spread out unable to go anywhere. But whatever the chamber was made of, the super move didn't even scratch it. "But she can do that!" "Good Desco! Now try your powerup form."
The little demon focused on her power and built up energy throughout her entire body. "Haaaaa....... AAAAH!" and a dark battle aura surrounded her body. After a few minutes though, she relaxed and the aura went away, and she was breathing heavily. Those two maneuvers sucked out all of the magical power that she had for super skills. She didn't know it, but the collar was supposed to provide her with extra power to do more but even in this simulated area it was unable to provide."Good good! Now you know a little about how the original version works." A hatch opened in the middle of the chamber and slowly it pushed up a battle suit, Desco easily recognized it and knew what was going to happen next. "Ohhh, its been a long time since Desco fought one of daddy's battlesuits." Desco summoned Yogsothoth again and immediately threw out a tentacle to bite the suit. "This one isn't going to fight back as it is empty, I just want to see how long it takes you to tear it apart Desco." The tentacle bit into the suit as another lashed out and then opened up to do the same. Desco's tentacles bit down on it and then backed off to do it again at different angles, but she wasn't getting very far so she changed tactics and grabbed both of its arms. It took several minutes of pulling them apart but eventually she ripped the arms off of the body. "This suit is really strong!" "It is pretty tough."
Genjuro started to type up notes about Desco's performance which went as expected. The chamber and collar were working and the impact of her normal attacks was as expected against the training suit. "That is actually enough for right now Desco. I want you to go sign up for Dante's Abyss and see how things really work in the field and if its different from what the chamber emulated." Desco was a little disappointed that the experimentation was already over. She had hoped to spend more time with daddy and in his experiments on her capabilities. She left the chamber which receded back into the ground and Genjuro came out of the Control Room. "That was very good Desco!" Desco hugged Genjuro's leg. "Does it have to end so soon daddy?" "Well Desco, I don't want to do anything that would hurt your performance in the game. You know, they have some prizes if you do really well in the competition and its a Survival competition. You'll have to live as long as you can in the Danteverse wearing that collar." Genjuro took off the collar from Desco's neck and a little platform immediately zipped out of an opening hatch to collect it. "You'll need to spend the night to recover your energy you used just now, so you can stay with DesX." Genjuro smiled and rubbed Desco's head.
"Now Daddy has to go back to work, he has many other projects and deadlines to meet for the Empire. You be a good girl and do your best!" "Yes daddy!" Genjuro too Desco to DesX's room in the labratory, a big room with a giant fluffy bed, stuffed animals, and everything else that she could want to play with to amuse her when she wasn't doing anything, and not floating in the test tube undergoing changes. "Hello Desco." "DesX? You sound different than Desco remembers." "I don't think my voice has changed since you defeated me as EarthX." "EarthX?" DesX's sudden reveal, as Genjuro was already gone and making his way back to the lab, showed that Desco's memory was affected by her summoning to the Omniverse. "I think daddy told me about this before. Primes sometimes forget things when Omni brings them into the Omniverse." Desco stared at DesX with wide eyes. Things were different here than she remembered. Last time she met DesX she had defeated her in combat with Big Sis. While Desco automatically went to a friendly mood she hadn't expected DesX to want to converse. She didn't want anything to do with Desco, the prototype model of her design, when Desco and DesX were still living in the lab together. "Don't you remember? You took over Earth with Big Sis and I was the last defender of Earth that daddy created to make your takeover more exciting."
A surge of emotion filled Desco, confused, pleased, and dying to know more. Taking over Earth was something Desco had wanted to do since she first emerged from the test tube. That she had taken over Earth already was everything she ever wanted to do, but she didn't remember it. "Desco doesn't remember any of that!" "Maybe daddy can help you remember." Desco nodded. The pair spent some hours with DesX giving Desco the tour of the lab and playing with toys and video games until it was night time and they slept in DesX's bed. In the morning, DesX led Desco out to a Skycar in the same spot that she had been dropped off at, and soon she was on her way back to the Nexus gate where on the other side she could sign up for Dante's Abyss.

Guu and Desco were ushered through the portal and there they stood amongst the crowds of Coruscant. Skyscrapers with alien architecture reached higher than any building from Earth. These buildings lined the horizon as if height wasn’t an accomplishment anymore. Cars fly in rows, just trying to get to their everyday routine. Guu had never seen a city quite like this… well, except maybe from watching Star Wars, but she hadn’t seen it in real life before.
In retrospect, she could have time traveled back in her home universe. She learned how from humans when they taught her the concept of time progression; how things seemed to move linearly if you look at it that way. She used that power once to take Hare back in time. However, she never attempted going any further forward than the present; something about seeing all your friends and family old or possibly even dying kind of squicked her out. However, it was moments like now that she wish she had gone and seen the direction that the human race would take, it would have probably would have prepared her for what she had seen just now. She was just stunned silent, glaring at the gigantic futuristic cityscape before her.
She was in awe…
Thankfully, Desco was there to bring her out of it. The demon child was pointing excitedly at a neon light candy store labeled “Lundark’s Candy Emporium.” It appears the local businesses have placed themselves near the Nexus gate to catch the eye of any sucker with a full wallet.
“Guu, Desco wants to go to the candy store!”
She grabs her by the arm stub and pulls her along into the shop.
The walls were lined with candy of many shapes and sizes. She saw some brands that she recognized, like M&Ms, Skittles, and Hersheys, but most were completely alien to her; literally as they were labeled with strange lettering that must have been from out of this world.
The two signed up for an All-You-Can-Eat special, and Desco feverishly dug into the candy brands. Guu just took random handfulls from shelves and stuffed them down her mouth. The demon child cooed satisfied at the tasty treats!
“Desco wants more!” She yells, blood pumping from the sugar rush.
”Don’t eat too much, you’re stomach won’t forgive you.”
But the pink one’s warning was ignored as her eyes comes across a giant wad of pure rainbow colored candy the size of an adult fist.
”Desco wants that one!” She said, pointing at the large candy ball. The woman behind the counter looked at her precariously.
“I dunno little girl. We had a cenobite in here and he keeled over when he ate one of those.”
”Don’t care, it’s not match for a final boss!”
“Well, if you say so… just sign this waver real quick.” She said, pushing a piece of paper in front of her.
---
Guu was sitting on the floor next to a woozy Desco, who was looking off at all random directions while moaning in agony. The pink princess sighed heavily.
”Should have listened…”
Her attention drifted towards the television. The broadcast was covering Dante’s Abyss. They were going over the Top 8 winners. She took notice of a man with green skin. The announcer mentioned that he was the leader of a faction in the Tangled Green. She figured she would probably run into the guy eventually.
However before Guu could watch any further, Desco shot up to her feet.
”Desco better now!” She stated excitedly. ”Let’s get more candy!”
”That was fast…” The pink one said, reacting to her sudden recovering. The demon child smiled towards her.
”Desco has a stomach made of steel! Well, not really, but daddy says it’s strong stuff!”
---
The two gorged themselves on candy until they got themselves thrown out by management. As soon as they were back on the street, Desco’s communication device lights up. She checks it.
”It’s daddy!” She yells excitedly. She promptly answers the phone. ”Hi daddy!”
”Desco! I see you and your friend have entered Coruscant! I’m sending along a cab!”
”Okay daddy! See you soon!” She shut the phone off and turned to Guu. ”Daddy said he sent a cab for Desco and Guu!”
“…how does he know we’re here…” She asked. But before she could get an answer, a cab pulls up in front of them. ”Well, can’t argue with hasty service.”
The two climb aboard and the cab flies off into the skyline.

As the cab took off, Guu spotted a Prinny on the ground with a camera pointed at them."That must be it." While there was a camera on them at the time, the Prinny was working for a news network in the Empire and not for Genjuro. His tracking of Desco was much more sophisticated with tiny nanobot cameras following her no matter where she went. While Dante's Abyss had made his tiny cameras useless... even though those tiny bots had passed from Earth to Hades to Celestia with Desco completely unphased. Dante's Abyss had its own cameras watching the contestants so at least he didn't need his own to track Desco's progress and evaluate the effects of the Collar in this 'control' situation. No better comparison than using the original thing.
The cab took off to the sky in a notably different route to the secret lab this time though it hardly mattered to Desco. She didn't remember or try to remember how the taxi had taken her to daddy's place the first time. She probably would have gotten that wrong anyway. Bug, after all, she just had to ask to get taken there. Daddy would let her visit any time she wanted if she asked, though Desco isn't so attached as to want to visit all the time. She wanted to see the outside world, with Big Sis if she were here in this omniverse. Guu was here instead and Desco was quickly growing attached to her new bestest friend.
They zoomed along in the sky lanes past numerous tall buildings that while most were different started to blend together. There were only so many ways to make the same style building. Along the ground people walked along sidewalks hurriedly. There was a define atmosphere of rushing and tension that Guu could feel. The Tangled Green was much more peaceful, but Desco just stared wide eyed out the window. "Hey look at that!" Desco pointed to one of many city parks that was surprisingly well maintained with children playing on the swingsets, slides, and other normal park structures for kids. "Looks fun."
As they traveled Guu realized that she could relax right here, for the first time since she was put into that bad spot she could rest with Desco at her size as they flew through the air on a flying metal deathtrap. She dozed off for a time as Desco pointed at different things outside. Dante's Abyss had taken its toll on the little jungle goddess who since leaving her universe and dumped unceremoniously in this one has grown quite compassionate without her awesome powers to play with reality as she pleased. In this place where Guu was nearly a mortal, she keenly felt the mortality of others and her friends. Back in her jungle if worst came to worst she could time travel to fix things, though it never did come to that. But here she couldn't just undo the damage that happened.
Guu came alert again as Desco pointed at a giant billboard that had smaller but still giant screen covering most of it blasting sound every car passing by could hear. It was a rather repetitive sequence that wouldn't have been out of place in a 90s live action show and of course the billboard was colored blue and red with that iconic Pepsi symbol. A giant cut out of Pepsiman towered over the square area of the billboard and the video showed sequences of commercials, booming calls of Pepsimaaaaaan happening every 10-20 seconds.
The cab suddenly took a sharp turn right for that billboard, and as it seemed like it was about to crash the cab went into a hole that opened up on the picture of a can of pepsi and soon they were diving in a steep slope. The cab moved around in darkness at this point until it leveled off in a corridor that was brightly lit. "So what kind of guy is your father?" "Daddy is the best! He made Desco, so Desco loves daddy. He is really nice!" Desco's answer did show how she felt about her father as her voice was full of the love she felt, but it told Guu very little of what she was actually going to face. Still, despite her quirks Desco was a sweet demon girl so he surely couldn't be 'that' bad could he? Sometimes Desco's descriptions made him out to be quite the mad scientist.
The cab landed in the docking bay that Desco did remember from the last time she was here, despite the different route taken. They got off and Desco took Guu's hand, leading her in excitedly. "Daddy's lab is this way!" But as they were about to enter the door, it opened prematurely and revealed DesX standing there. "Hello Desco and Guu, it is nice to see you two again." "DesX!" "Hey DesX." Guu looked away, not sure what to say in this odd moment. DesX had probably seen everything that went on in DA from the television and Guu was still uneasy about all that happened.

"I watched you in Dante's Abyss, you both did very well." "Thanks! But Desco didn't win, she was defeated by heroes." DesX nodded and waved away. "One of them, the young Ninja, ended up taking the prize. But you shouldn't feel sad Desco, your work and contributed to daddy's research, and of course you haven't re-unlocked your full Final Boss potential yet so you are bound to fight heroes that can beat you now." "Yea, Desco guesses so." DesX lead the two into the lab. They passed by test tube after test tube filled with various creatures in various stages of experimentation. Many Pokemon filled those tubes and so many other variations of things that netiher Desco nor Guu could identify. All in all they looked fairly peaceful floating in whatever that goo was.
They made there way through the lab, and DesX commented on the various things along the way giving them the tour. "This is a Dragon-Pikachu hybrid. Unfortunately the creature could not originally live with two so different kinds of genes, but daddy has figured out how to stablize it." The dragon monstrosity was yellow with a lightning bolt tail and orange cheek spots. It looked quite creepy and large, like it could break out at any second and attack. "This is something called a Slime infested with something called Zerg. While it is successful the result was less than spectacular." A blue drop floating in green goo, it had a clearly visible set of pulsing purplish organs throughout its transparent body.
"So what about you? What does he do to you DesX?" "Oh? Well, daddy does lots of experiments on me. He tests to see what new modifications he can place on me safely to enchance my powers using Omnilium. Like this for instance." DesX held up a hand and strained, forcing a small jewel to creep its way out of the eye on the back of her hand. "This gem is called Materia, and it gives the user magical power. He modified my body to allow it to be slotted into me, rather than a weapon. It was successful, but my magical power far exceeds its potential anyway." "But he doesn't do stuff like this too you?" Guu gestured to the tubes, worried about what might befall Desco in this place. "Many of those experiments are too dangerous for daddy to put on us now. Daddy isn't going to risk his strongest successes on these, the knowledge he gains from these will allow him to make safe modifications." What DesX didn't mention, or realize, was that as Desco is a Prime her body will auto-regenerate when destroyed so Desco could withstand such experimentation much better than DesX whose status as a secondary meant she would be lost, and summoning DesX back wouldn't be quite the same as the one here.
Finally they walked into the giant room that Desco had trained in before, the dimensional chamber occupying most of it and improved increasing its size to fill nearly the entire space. "Desco remembers this! Daddy put Desco in this thing to simulate Dante's Abyss." "Is that so?" Guu looked at the giant machine, it was a reality manipulation machine which reminded her of her old powers. Even power as great as this was unlockable by science. They came up to the control room and DesX tapped a code into the keypad to let them in. "Ah Desco, there you are. The preparations will soon be complete so we can start right away!" Desco ran up and hugged Genjuro's leg."Hi daddy! Did you see Desco? "Yes! You did very well inside that place. From some rumors I've heard that this wasn't the first time they have done that either, the whole thing came from a particular universe that had this instead of the Olympics." "Ohh, really?" "Yes, so some of your enemies might have been there before."
"What do you plan on doing to Desco?" Genjuro rubbed his chin and ran through the plan in his head. He had no qualms with sharing his plan with Guu, Desco was friends with her and Desco would share it with her eventually anyway. He had seen how close their relationship was and had developed since Desco arrived in the Omniverse, shortly before Guu had. He was also proud of his new accomplishments and excited at the opportunity to really learn about the basic laws that govern the Omniverse. "You see Guu, this collar." Genjuro opened a drawer and pulled out a collar that looked just like the ones worn in DA but smaller. "It works on the basic fundamental laws that govern the universe. It doesn't actually work out here outside of the Abyss but I'm working to fix that and see if I can unlock its secrets. I've made many experiments already, but I know Desco's powers before Omniverse, during Omniverse, and during DA which gives me a lot more insight about the results it can have."
Guu nodded, at least it sounded like what he was about to do to Desco seemed like a harmless thing. "What about the explosives in the collar." "Well... taken out of course! I wouldn't want it to hurt Desco, that would hurt the experiments." Desco stepped back and turned around to face Guu. "Are you going to stay and watch?" Guu shuffled a little. Despite wanting to stay her with Desco and everything that was trying to avoid right now, she did have responsibilities to attend to in the Tangled Green. Her faction wasn't going to run itself. "This could take some hours as we have to see all manner of actions completed with the collor on. From eating and sleeping to combat, both inside and outside the chamber. I have many versions of the collor to test that have shown various degrees of restriction on other subjects including myself." "I really need to get back to Ambrosia."

Desco turns towards Guu.
“You’re leaving so soon?” She asked somewhat disappointed. Guu outstretched her arms and pulled the demon child in for a hug. Her disappointed look switched to a smile upon contact with her best friend.
“Not for too long, I promise.” The pink-haired one said comfortingly. She pulled away to look her in the eyes. “I just need to get back to my people.”
She shaped a hand and rested it on the side of her face. The demon child giggled at the contact.
“Fate keeps bringing us together.” She said with a gentle smile. “Won’t be long until it drives us together again.”
With that, Guu turns to face Genjuro, looking him directly him in the eyes. He felt a chill down his spine, a sensation he enjoyed quite a bit as it sparked his curiousity.
“Genjuro, was it?” She stated, a stern look in her face. She stretches an arm to awkwardly rest on his face, too. “Don’t do anything you’d regret.”
He stifled a laugh at the prospect of being this small child’s mortal enemy. Not that he was underestimating her, but the prospect was a funny concept, such a small person being a threat to all your plans.
He had read up on Guu before she arrived. She was such a unique blend of cute and terrifying. She kind of reminded him of Desco in that regard. He couldn’t even create or more perfect playmate for her.
He walked over and placed a hand on top of the pink haired covered dome. She is forced to look up in order to maintain the intimidating glare.
“Do not worry, Guu. I won’t do anything my little girl can’t handle.”
But Guu wasn’t 100% satisfied with that response. She knew her friend could take a lot of punishment, and she was very gullible. She wasn’t sure if she could trust this man not to hurt the demon child. She turned to her.
“Please be safe.” She requested, but Desco only responded with a smile.
“Desco is with daddy! Don’t worry so much.”
“Well, okay…” She said reluctantly, pausing a bit before continuing. “When you are done here, come to the tangled. Give me a call and I’ll take you to Ambrosia.”
“Okay Guu!” She said pleasantly. Guu moved in for another hug. She whispered into the demon child’s ear:
“I hope you know you’re like a little sister to me. I love you, Desco.”
The little one nodded, her face red and a smile mile-wide across her face. Guu herself was red scarlet from the blunt raw emotion and started to immediately head for the exit. Down the way she came, desperately trying to not to face the trio to hide her red cheeks. She waved an arm.
“Good bye” She called back.
“Bye Guu!” yelled the demon child.
Despite wanting to go alone, DesX escorted her out. Her paranoia sparked as she feared it was to keep her from finding something else incriminating. Her fear for Desco’s wellbeing occupied her thoughts and kept her from talking, creating a long, awkward walk back to the building’s entrance. Out in front, there was a convenient cab waiting. Guu figured Genjuro must have called this one. As she climbed into the vehicle, DesX finally spoke up.
”If you fear for Desco, don’t.” She stated, causing the pink princess to look up from her backseat throne. ”Desco loves her daddy, and she loves it here. She’ll be fine.”
Guu didn’t respond, she just silently typed in her destination into the screen in front of her and the cab took off into the sky, leaving the lab behind her. It was time for her to go home…
Little did she know, that she would be in for another detour…

Desco watched as Guu walked through the doors and away. She could already feel an anticipation of their next reunion and happy feelings, something that happened a lot lately in a short time span. But the events of DA were intense so it amplified the feelings of being apart. Guu seemed oddly worried about Desco and suspicious of Desco's father. Desco didn't worry about that too much, he was a mad scientist after all, but it seemed like such a natural relationship to Desco that someone thinking otherwise just seemed odd. Little girls are supposed to love their daddy. She turned back to her father. "Desco is ready daddy!"
Genjuro nodded and motioned toward the lab. "Let's go then Desco, we have quite a lot of work to do and I don't want to hold you up too much." Ever since Desco left the lab he normally use a policy of non interference and allow her to develop on her own. He had broken this before with giving her and Fuka gifts, like those pirate ships he designed for them.

The two walk side by side through the self moving sliding doors through the lab. Each step of the revealing another experiment at some stage in its cycle. In one room strange purple organs in various stages of growth and development hung, sat, and floated in a variety of different test tube sizes and shapes. They pulsed and shivered, and reacted to the presence of Desco and Genjuro in a variety of fashions from spurting green liquid all over the tube to trying to slam their way out to attempting to go down only to find an unyielding floor in the way. The bases of each had glowing green or yellow lights, that if went red would torch the experiment. Whatever these purple things were, they were dangerous but that is why they made valuable test subjects. Desco gawked at the experiments, at one point in her history the DNA that was tested and went through similar stages of experimentation, but they pressed on.
The next room had a sight that would be familiar to certain bounty hunters. A thought extinct species stood or floated in heavily fortified cages. They have a variety of different armaments such as huge fangs, arms with claws, body armor, pulsed with deadly energy, but in each there were, usually 3 but some varied, red cell clusters that seemed to act as the brain in each thing. They cringed at the sight of outsiders, intelligent most knew full well that struggling was futile so only a few rattled their cages. Most were being exposed to a variety of different environments. Hot and cold, vacuum, and others that were filled with different energies. Each partially explained the contents as they took on traits to their environment. For whatever reason, the exact mechanics still unknown, sometimes it progressed to further stages of development gaining those armor and claws while others the adaptations seemed to stunt their growth and proceed with fission while they were floating clawed bubbles.
They moved onward through more rooms of yet more experiments until making their way back to the familiar room that Desco had been in before Dante's Abyss. Desco was excited to be helping daddy again, it had been so long since they had really spent some quality time together. She was happy to be of use again after being discarded to Hades when she lost to DesX. For Genjuro things were different. He did not want to experiment on Desco but he had no other subject as key to his experiments as she was at this point. Unlike her sister DesX, Desco was a Prime which lent some very specific traits to her. Ever since Desco was released and joined with Valvatorez and Fuka, Genjuro had decided only to watch from afar and see how the experiment developed. As it turned out, Desco was really the better design, the Prototype better than the final version. However, as Desco had taken over Earth with Fuka, the purpose of her creation was truly finished and like DesX, whose failure put her back as test material for further development, was available again to tinker with.
Desco continued to walk alongside Genjuro to the center of the room until he stopped and turned to Desco. He had that enigmatic look as he looked into Desco's red demonic eyes, perhaps lost in thought or trying to carefully phrase what he was about to ask Desco. There were few that could really understand Desco's thought processes better than he could, he designed them by hand. "First Desco, tell me what are the last things you can remember about our universe? Of the Netherworld or Earth." Desco nodded and looked away, straining to remember. The last parts that had happened were still vague to her. DesX had talked to Desco right before DA about those missing memories and she indeed surfaced some of them but others were assumed memories invented on the spot listening to DesX's account so she ended with some conflicting thoughts and large gaps. "Desco remembers defeating Fear the Great with Big Sis, Mr. Valzy, and everyone but after that Desco isn't sure what happened. Desco seemes to recall some of Desco taking over Earth but she isn't really sure..." Desco's face turned to a frown as she struggled harder to remember important details.
"That is okay Desco because we are going to try to recover those memories. While you were gone I made a special machine which may help us determine the best way to restore the missing files." Desco smiled and nodded, daddy always had an answer for everything, though sometimes it took a while to develop. Genjuro took a small sphere of his pocket and held it out. It started to unravel and expand, forming thin metal outlines around Desco's head which expanded to one solid plate around her head, with indentation's for Desco's horns. The plate started carving small lines into itself turning into what looked like a large circuit board."What is it?" "It's a non-invasive mind scanner to take a look at what is really going on. Now stay still right there Desco." Genjuro walked over to a wall which separated to reveal that familiar room he stood in before with a clear window looking into the huge room and a variety of computers and devices inside. He started to work on the data the scanner was providing him and comparing it to the data he recreated from memory on Desco in Hades. It was a more complete scan but it revealed a variety of anomalies as expected. The hard part would be sorting out the issues that dealt solely with memory. He would work on the other parts later as Desco's body had lost a lot of functionality. Restoring the thinking side would not change that her body can't do those things anymore.

"Thank you Desco, we'll see to restoring your memory later." Genjuro hit some buttons and the scanner helmet shrank back down into a little metal sphere and rolled into the wall where a small door opened and closed to let it through. He did some quick typing on the computer and started a deeper analysis of the scan. He would have to wait to see the results before making any decisions on how to restore Desco's memory.
Now Genjuro went through a long list of possible experiments to perform. To start off the day with the real experiments he did not want to cause Desco too much stress or damage which could impact the results of other experiments. One in particular he wanted to get through before Desco left would definitely affect other experiments as it implemented new functionality into Desco's body especially after testing it. Instead, collar experiments would not cause too much change. "Okay Desco, try this one and see if anything feels any different."
A square on the floor opened up and a gray cylinder quickly sprang up out of the ground. The otherwise featureless pillar revealed seems in the middle, opening two doors to reveal a compartment that had a collar hanging on a small hook. Desco looked at it curiously for a moment then reached in and grabbed it. It was dull gray in color and had the same design that the collars daddy had given her before had. It was somewhat different from the ones in DA as the dangerous parts of it like exploding if removed were removed. She popped it open and clasped it on her neck under the purple choker she always wears.
Desco waited for some moments anticipating that something would happen but nothing did. Everything seemed the same to Desco. What Desco didn't know was that in good scientific practice Genjuro was establishing a control experiment, a base line to which to compare to making the results of the tests more meaningful. A good scientist had to test his own assumptions about what would happen so he started Desco with a collar that should only work under the conditions in Dante's Abyss. With so many unknown variables it was still within the realm of possibility that the collar might do something. Desco started to move, she let her tail expand and slither out from under her dress reaching for the floor and beyond as it pushed Desco's body up into the air. Yogsothoth materialized behind her. "Desco doesn't feel different Daddy." That demonstration proved that the control experiment worked as expected. Desco's basic abilities were which was expected and unlike in DA Desco was able to summon Yogsothoth, in DA she couldn't summon or de-summon him.
"Good Desco, that is what I expected." Genjuro went back to his list of experiments and looked for a good second experiment to attempt. He zeroed in on one that increased the power of the one wearing the collar, just as the ones in DA did by proving more mana, energy, or whatever the wearer needed to unleash their most powerful attacks, but this one should work in a normal Omniverse setting. This didn't make much sense in mundane science but magical laws could easily perform such complicated effects as they relied on conceptual ideas to affect the world. The cylinder next to Desco whirred as hidden machinery pulled down the hook that Desco could see and replaced it with a new hook that had a new collar. This one was a light yellow color. Desco clicked off the one she was wearing and swapped it with the new one offered.

Desco waited to see what would happen with the new collar. At first nothing happened, but her father was busy typing in commands at his console. A whirring sound came from below and part of the floor in the middle of the room slid away and in its place a gray cage rose from below containing some kind of brown mushroom with eyes mouth and feet. It was much larger than Desco but it didn't look too scary. "This guy is pretty tough to crack Desco, so keep using your most powerful attacks.." The giant Goomba pounded the ground with its feet and looked down at the little demon girl before it. He was not happy to have been caged in this place, this was the only entertainment he got in some time.
"Okay! Prepare yourself mushroom guy, for you are about to face a Final Boss!" Desco held out one hand. "Cower in fear for Desco will show you her true power!" She brought both hands above her hand and arked her back, tail manuvering to hold her in place, while Yogsothoth's top two tentacles also stretched up and back, opening wide with fire and ice gathering in each of their mouths mixed with wind magic. The giant Goomba scraped his foot along the ground twice, and charged the little girl. But as he charged, Desco brought her hands down and the tentacles extended forward and breathed out their twin cones of fire/wind and ice/wind. The streams of energy struck the charging goomba straight on, pushing him back and onto the cage's platform.
Desco retracted her tentacles and looked at her opponent with curious eyes, for a charge that was pretty ineffective and it just laid there defenseless, did it die already? She floated forward a bit but stopped as the Goomba shook and jumped up to right itself. "Grrr, I'm not going to lose to a little girl!" It was of course, no surprise that the thing can talk but Desco assumed that it was a demon. The Goomba opened its mouth wide, the top of its head almost going back like it was on a hinge and shot some large fangs at Desco. Automatically Desco's tentacles struck the oncoming projectiles and deflecting them from their path to scrape and skid along the metal ground behind Desco sending sparks flying. "You can power up too Desco." The more mana Desco spent, the faster he could tell whether or not the collar had increased her maximum energy. "Okay, you are in for it now mushroom guy!"
Desco focused in on herself, her body curling up a little bit including Yogsothoth. She then stretched out all at once, and a brilliant red aura surrounded her body. The goomba took a step back from this monstrous little girl, now having second thoughts about who was going to easily beat who. Then he roared casting a red glow throughout the room, and psyched himself up for battle. He jumped into the air, body tilting forward, and aiming square for Desco, but Desco was prepared for it and all of her tentacles wrapped around her body glowing an even brighter red as Sphere Defense activated. The Goomba's super headbonk struck her and he bounced up to flip in the air and strike again, and again 3 more times. He bounced back to where the cage had been and looked at her in her little ball, the brighter glow fading away leaving behind her normal battle aura.
Her tentacles went back to their normal position. "That was pretty good! But not good enough to beat Desco!" Her tentacles retracted back again, gathering power. This time the giant Goomba pulled out a hat with a single spike on it from nowhere and put it on his head, crouching down in a defensive position. The twin blasts of magic struck, and reflected off the spiked hat, but as Desco finished the hat cracked and broke apart into pieces. Desco quickly held up one of her hands. "Star!" She summoned a purple magical circle below her feet which faded away and reappeared below the goomba. Three yellow stars formed on three rings around him, ripping towards eachother over his body unable to react quickly to the sudden attack. Then her eyes started to glow pink with star energy. The goomba opened up his mouth again, and as Desco shot her eye laser across his body he shot fangs at hers, striking true this time one falling off to the side while the other impaled one of her side tentacles. Oddly her laser had done nothing to him or so it seemed, but the energy it had left on him started to build rapidly, and then exploded.
Desco took this moment to wrap two tentacles around the large fang and tear it out of her, dropping it to the ground. She again, charged up her attack one more time, the goomba breathed heavily from the damage she had caused. He tried to step away but there was nowhere really to go in this enclosed room, her fire and ice attack burning and freezing his body. With her aura still active, Desco floated up a few feet and looked down at the fallen giant goomba. She did it! The aura faded after a minute. "Desco did it!" "Good Desco. Let's get you ready for the next test." Genjuro called in an energy bot to Desco, coming out of some place from the wall. The box shot her with red healing energy and then blue mana restoring energy. The experiment had worked, as Desco freely used more energy than she would have been able to normally. It was still a far cry from herself last recorded in Hades but it meant success for the experiment.

Genjuro proceeded with a variety of more collar experiments on Desco many of which were negatives. He had her try a collar that should have increased the power of every attack Desco made but the collar quickly shorted out and exploded after two attacks. It didn't have enough power to pull it off and something about the design didn't quite work. Another Collar should have suppressed Desco's powerful signature moves to more normal move levels but it simply didn't work. This one was a step towards the ultimate goal of making a collar that would be used to imprison Primes but that would take some work before the Empire could stop Primes.
Not every collar after the first couple was a complete failure though. One simply empowered the wearer slightly and another weakened. Desco was set against a punching machine without a collar and with the two collars. Her tentacles struck the the machine and her power changed appropriately with each collar and without one. A useful application of collars but it wasn't a new innovation. Such technology was already available in simpler methods than a modified Dante's Abyss collar but the information would be useful.
Desco happily allowed her father to experiment on her. She wanted nothing more than to help him and it had been such a long time since he had. Even the next experiment she didn't mind at all. "Okay Desco, now this next one is probably going to feel a little strange." Genjuro checked his monitors, ensuring DesX was in her room nearby in case something went wrong. DesX was his most powerful experiment here in the Omniverse, even more powerful than Desco right now due to the limitations Primes seemed to have in their speed of growth. What Desco was about experience could be dangerous if she couldn't defeat it. Genjuro went back to his other data and pulled out the list of samples he could use. Desco was a powerful demon, despite her age.
After some time of shuffling in the unseen mechanical bowels of the lab a yellow robot riding on a single wheel holding a syringe filled with purple liquid in one of its two mechanical hands. "Hello! As instructed by your father, you will need to take this injection! Don't worry, it won't hurt too much!" Desco stretched out one of her tentacles and took the needle. "Okay," Desco gazed at the needle curiously while the robot scurried off back into safety. She moved it to one of her hands and stuck it in her other arm, injecting the liquid into her body. She looked at the injection site, and tossed away the needle.
Inside her body, the liquid was already growing in sophistication. What it was, was a small culture of Zerg infestation parasites in their earliest stage. They would normally bet stuck into their victims at a higher maturity one at a time. They would require a more traumatic entrance due to size. This process put many into the body and in previous experiments on secondary victims resulted in a much faster and more vicious infestation, but also a lower rate of infestation as the body had a chance to fight off the parasites in its more infantile form. Her body lazily started to fight the parasites. Normally her body did not fight aggressively against infection because infections did not normally manage to even get into cells and would quickly die off from the lack of ability to multiply without host cells. This gave them a chance to spread and grow. It did feel strange to Desco, as the parsites started to grow too large and started to attack and try to take over. However, this was when her immune system really kicked in. Desco felt weird sensations throughout her body. as suddenly her body flooded itself, her red battle aura activating on her own and cells converging on the parasites throughout her. In moments, the parasite infection was gone.
Things were going more or less as Genjuro had expected. He designed Desco's immune system. It couldn't waste time on pointless infections that was the path to developing allergies and wasting energy but at the same time it couldn't let go serious threats. The collars had their hits and misses but nothing substantially different from previous tests. The conclusions he could draw so far were that Desco's body despite the changes was still pretty close to what he had designed and that her experience in Dante's Abyss didn't change the behavior of the collars. It wasn't much but the scientific process didn't produce awe every time. "Good Desco! Now we just have one more thing to do. I've designed some new fucntionality while you were in Dante's abyss, its something I think you'll find quite useful in being a Final Boss!"
Desco got all excited and bouned back flinging out her arms and legs. "Really! That sounds great Daddy! What is it?" Genjuro walked over to a large freezer behind him and pulled out a small glass tube sealed by a cork. He opened it up and popped out the small gel pill inside. It was a simple blue pill but its effect that it would have Desco would be substantially effecting each cell. He left the contained lab to come hand it to her himself. "This will will give you two new abilities. The first will be an ability to sustain damage better. Your body will function no matter how much damage it has taken and you'll have a much higher tolerance for pain." That was of course appropriate to video games where enemies and players alike often had Critical Existence Failure. "The second works off of that ability. When you have taken enough damage that you can't sustain living anymore, your body will self-destruct. But don't worry! Here in the Omniverse as you know already, you come back to life when you die." Desco nodded and smiled. "Just like a real Final Boss!" She was a little more mixed on this one as it did remind her that she wasn't as powerful as she used to be, it was more likely that she would die. But Final Bosses didn't live forever, and often came back for a second run. In that sense, it was the perfect ability for her to go out with a bang.
Genjuro held out his hand and Desco took the pill and swallowed it without hesitation. "Now for our last experiment Desco we need to see this ability in action so we know it works. So are you ready?" Desco shivered a little, she didn't like the thought of dieing but she wanted to help daddy and she did want to know if it would work. "Okay Daddy." Genjuro put one hand in a pocket and stepped back from Desco, activating his battle suit. It was a much simpler system from what he had on Earth, materializing the suit on his body. "Now hold still Desco."
Genjuro summoned the magical energies inside him and the suit acted in turn enhancing and increasing the power he drew out. "Giga Ice!" He held out both of his armored hands and a blue magical sphere appeared around him spinning quickly . The sphere expanded and disappeared, then a magical circle appeared below Desco and a magical ring around her. The circle let out a burst of bubbles into the air. Those water bubbles hung in the hair for a moment, and then in a moment the area changed and the bubbles suddenly solidified into an ice crystal formation catching Desco inside. With the direct hit and after the exhaustion of extinguishing the Zerg parasites, her body had enough. The ice shatted around her, and when the mist settled her body was already starting the process to let off her load bearing ability. Small cells creates small explosions and her body glowed brightly. It was almost surreal to Desco, who didn't feel any pain as it started. Genjuro meanwhile retreated, going to the far side of the room where Desco had entered and opening the hidden wall. It was dangerous to experience this first hand, and he already had a huge variety of sensors collecting data on how powerful the energy she released was. The explosions grew in size and strength, scorching the ground until one final blast was released damaging the ground and the wall closest to Desco. The experiments were complete, for now.
