So I never really explained this to everyone publicly so I figured I would just explain it here rather than saying it in the chat box over and over.
About four months ago I woke up and my hand was all swollen up. Doctor says it's RSI caused by my job. State of things is that after a few minutes of typing or other similar activity my hand starts to ache and it can persist for days once it starts. If I continue to use it past this point it can start to swell up, but I'm generally not that stupid. It's a fucking jank. I can physically do stuff if I really want to? But it will stop my hand from getting better. So it's a psychological test from me to be able to resist playing video games, or browsing Reddit, or doing anything that requires any amount of clicking.
Most of the time now I use this voice recognition software to type all of my posts. It's what I'm using right now. I can even use it to navigate the Internet, though when I get lazy or frustrated I just use my hand to click stuff. That's the trap. It's aching right now and it pisses me off.
It took about three months before I was able to see a physiotherapist. I saw one interim physiotherapist and now I've just seen a proper one who's going to refer me to the physio in a place where I am now living (I had to move house about two weeks before writing this post, which did not help matters). They've given me a bunch of good ideas like using a tennis ball between my back and the wall to massage it, using a hot water bottle to release the muscles et cetera. It hasn't significantly improved yet but I'm hopeful that it will do.
I've been off work on this time so I'm still technically employed by my previous employer, getting sick pay by the government. The time limit for this is six-seven months before I would have to take more drastic measures. In the meantime I'm looking for new jobs that I'll be able to do with my voice recognition software from home. All the donations I've received in the past few months and are growing member base about three let me to believe that the Omniverse becoming my actual full-time job could be a real possibility in the near future. However there's still much more work to be done before that dream can intersect with reality.
When this started I never expected it to last longer than a few weeks at most. Hence my lack of an explanation. I figured, rest it off and get back on the horse. That hasn't happened. So this is my thing that I can point to in case people wonder why I'm using this janked up voice recognition software

Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
