Hello everyone! It's Carn with the usual greetings again. Right now, I'm wandering around the Nexus, trying to figure out what to do next. I mean I have enough Omnillium to keep me busy building my base for other anomalies but somehow, right now, I have no particular reason to do it yet. A lack of motivation perhaps? Lugging my trusty scythe and cleaver as well as a bag full of DA goodies, I walk towards the centerpiece fountain again. Sitting down on the chalk-white floor, my hands start to rummage through my duffel bag. Inside, I find a deactivated camera ball, the one I took with me from the interviewer at the tent. I fiddle around with it, trying to look for an ON switch. "Maybe I should rub it first..." I said in an attempt to turn it on.

"You alive in there, little buddy?"
Tiny LED lights lit up once I heard the click and whir from the small metal orb, its camera lens focusing on me as I hold on its frame. The ball, shaking like a wild salmon, escapes my grip and falls to the ground, rolling away from me. After a good second or two, I gently step on the ball, making sure not to crush it with my weight so I could halt its escape. Realizing the futility of its resistance, the ball succumbs to its new owner, me.
"Ok little one. Again, I am Carn. We met at the tent, remember? I was ever so gracious to spare you from the fate of your comrades. Just be reminded that I won't tolerate any misbehavior on your part. That's my role, to misbehave. Ok?" I tell the ball as I grab it and lift it at eye level. "I kinda need your help here, buddy. Here, link to my phone, I've granted you access to use it but only if I tell you to. " I order the little orb as I held my phone in front of it. "Now...for a name."
A few minutes in, I keep on thinking what should I name the metal ball. I guess this whole naming thing is hard. I wonder how I became Carn. I mentally consult my writer dude for names, each one being rejected immediately.
Max, Jimmy, Roll, Tumble, Cray, Jay, Jolt, Pluto, Tyke. Names I thought of randomly but it's getting annoying so I'll decide one now despite writer dude's protests. No, I've already made up my mind. I won't do it tomorrow, not tomorrow, no delays, I have more arcs to do, I won't listen this time, I WANT TO DO IT NOW!
"Orbo...I'll call you Orbo" Yeah, yeah, I know it's bland guys, believe me, I've heard enough from writer dude already. Please respect my decision, I'm old enough to think for myself. Orbo floating above, I dig into the bag. Inside, there's a sock, a plushie and a volleyball. I wonder what they are for? I pull the volleyball out and immediately notice a hand-shaped stain on it, with what seems to be a smile. A DA souvenir? Whatever it is, it seems to carry with it a sentient atmosphere, the one every objectform anomaly possess as well. Apparently, it can't talk, just like most objectform anomalies or even normal objects, since they are...you know? Dead? Well, more like non-living. Yeah, objects are non-living, objectform anomalies are different. They appear to be objects but are obviously alive. You know that feeling like someone's watching you even though you know nobody's there? Yeah, that's an objectform anomaly. Just to be sure, bring with you the suspected object into a closed, isolated room and do something you usually do like play on your phone. If that object is an anomaly, the object will try to deal with the awkward situation, usually by trying to scare you. Don't worry, you'll live through it. In one piece? Not so sure. Okay, back to the volleyball. I spin it around its back (the side opposite of the 'face') and check any kind of markings. There's something printed in gold, 'Wilson' it says. "I guess you're Wilson? Or is that a brand? Stealthy sponsorship ads."
Before I could think, the volleyball hit me. Well, not literally, it's just that there's this pretty bad, cold sinking feeling trying to fizzle out of me. I mean there's literally hundreds of these volleyballs being sold in the Danteverse as souvenirs, replicas of a joke weapon. I hope not all of them are anomalies. I can't see myself trying to abduct a truck full of inflatables. There's a reason I grabbed this particular one and stashed it in. Whatever reason that is, I do not know either. I mean, I'm an Anomaly! A creature of the present. Worrying about the future is what old people do.
Now, how'd I get this bag in the first place? I remember waking up in a place much like the Nexus, all white. Only difference was that it was an enclosed space with walls of glass. After running away, I led myself back to my barracks room, took Trauma and Tremor and left like a squirrel. I got the bag somewhere back at the lobby where every spectator seemed to flow into another area to watch the silly game. The lobby was where I found these items and stuffed them in my bag. Orbo, my newfound buddy here, was with Trauma and Tremor so I had no trouble looking for him. Just as I jump out of that crack on the space like a rift at the end of the lobby hall, I found myself back here in the Nexus. Everything else was uneventful, even now. I guess this means it's time to move again, move where? I don't know.
"Come Orbo, let's walk around a bit. I might get an idea what to do next. The Anomaly base comes later, once I've found a good spot," I tell the camera ball as I start walking aimlessly towards the north(?).
