Basic Jump used horizontally(?)

This isn't something I was planning to use for my character, (I am planning to start out with Ranged proficiency) but I had a question.

Can basic jump be used horizontally? I assume yes (?) but to some extent, but I wanted to know if speed plays a significant factor in this move.
(Side note I recognize the move is quite different from burst.)

Secondly, can a horizontal jump be used in association to a charge at an enemy? (Ie. Perhaps easier than running at an enemy, because there is less traction, aka "gliding" through the air) this tactical side of the move interests me. But maybe I am overthinking it.

Also I recognize that a "jump-charge" as it may be called, is somewhat of disadvantage because there isn't much time to dodge.

Thirdly, would a horizontal jump* be beneficial in a stealth prioritized situation because footsteps wouldn't be heard approaching to alert an enemy (from behind)?

1. Yes, although I think there would be some difficulty in jumping from such an odd angle - maybe a loss in initial momentum as well. Speed would probably play into how fast you can shift into a jump and not affect the overall speed of the jump itself too much because there is no additional force propelling you in a given direction. Basically yeah it would play a small role.

2. Yes. Just like you can jump up towards something or someone you can 'charge' them like this. However, I don't see how this would be easier than running. It would require more energy exertion to propel yourself at such a pace to reach an opponent in midair rather than simply walking or running over to them. Theoretically though, yes there would be less to slow you down in the air.

3. To an extent, maybe. Depending on whether or not you work it into a Move or not, you may also need the Stealth power to actually be - stealthy as it were.

4. You can jump in battle. And, yes one of the possibilities of jumping from such an angle, is surprising your opponent.

Also can an attack use both proficiencies "debuff" and splash area *area attack proficiency together?

Yes. Some Moves require the use of multiple proficiencies and powers to be viable in the first place.

Also If a move is very similar to another, but has a somewhat different effect, should it be two different moves or two modes of a move and have it be variable? It'd probably be the same price so I just wanted to know If it was left up to preference in order to be more specific or it should go under the same move name and be counted as variable.

I won't be starting out with as complex of moves, and I prefer to kind of ascend the ladder, but I have some brainstorming starting of other ideas, which I will put more information in the move approval thread when the time comes.

Either or. It would be the same cost regardless. If you feel the effects should be linked in writing you can have them be variables of the same Move. If not make a separate one.
