A pale, ragged looking man materializes near the Fountain, with a great iron rod stuck through his chest. At the moment of his appearance, he's standing on his feet, but he immediately slumps to the ground.
"Oh, this is exciting. I'm not usually the one that gets moved around, y'know..." the man says softly to himself.
He lays there for quite some time, watching other beings come and go, giving a soft hello to any that greet him first.
"Oh!" he says, "I've just realized that I'm not nailed down!" He looks at the broken end of the pole, sticking out in front of him. "This is my chance, I think."
He pushes himself up against the ground, grabbing the edge of the fountain to provide support. He's not accustomed to exercise, and it takes several minutes before he's fully upright. He tries to stand up straight, but immediately falls forward. The end of the rod catches on the ground and prevents him from falling the rest of the way.
"That's close enough, wouldn't you say? Closer than I've gotten before, certainly..." he says, again to himself more than anyone else.
He takes a cautious step forward, the rod scraping against the ground as he moves. Then another step, and another. The man continues to walk along, making a slow circle around the fountain. He quietly marvels at his newfound mobility, and continues to observe his surroundings, walking around and around.
