In Blackest Night

The Green Lantern Corps did not exist in the Omniverse. This was something that after a lot of thinking about it, Jack had realized. No one who slung a power ring was around at present in the Omniverse - to his knowledge. As he walked through the green part of Camelot and looked up into the sky, Jack saw a floating island. An island like that couldn't be possible, could it? However it worked was a mystery to Jack Darby and right now he did not need any more mysteries on his plate to try and puzzle through. The bow of Primus was a good weapon, even if the one he had created lacked the powers of the original. It was not going to be enough to allow him to endure in the Omniverse though. Jack knew this because he was under-equipped. Perhaps there was some sort of relic in the Omniverse that he could put to use. There had to be something, but what could the youngest Darby wield as his primary defense in the Omniverse?

Thinking back to the legends that Arcee had told him about, or that he had learned about from Optimus Prime personally there were many powerful items that could come in handy in the Omniverse. The first one that came to mind was not a weapon per say, but was something better because of what it was capable of doing. The item in question was the Forge of Solus Prime. The Forge of Solus Prime was a hammer that had been used by Megatron to create the Dark Star Saber, and by Optimus to repair the Star Saber. It had also been used by Smokescreen to preserve Optimus Prime alive when he had been too badly damaged to take to a medic. It had upgraded him, but at the cost of completely emptying what remained of the batteries of the hammer. Since Omni had said that Omnilium could be used to create anything that Jack wanted perhaps it could be used in order to make the hammer a reality inside of this place. Being able to use it to forge a Green Lantern Ring would be a very useful ability, plus he could create the other relics that he needed, so that he could better protect himself in this place.

If there was a museum here in Camelot, said museum might have a relic that he could use. Yet, Jack was not sure how he was going to manage getting up to that floating island to look around. After all, he did not have a personal helicopter or jet. Furthermore, Starscream or Dreadwing were not around, and neither was Optimus Prime himself around. This meant that Jack had no way that he could get his feet off of the ground and move on with his plans to go to Dalaran, the name of which he did not know.

As no one seemed to be around, Jack Darby looked around once more. There had to be some way that he could get himself up to the floating island so he could search the place. Wait. Omnilium. Omnilium could make anything that one wanted. So in theory, all he had to do was desire what he needed, and he could have it. Thus, Jack held out the orb of Omnilium. With such thoughts in mind, Jack decided to take a cheap way in order to get himself up to the island. Due to the fact no paths to the island that did not involve flight existed, Jack contemplated his decision for a moment and then held out the orb of Omnilium. Rainbow threads leaped out of the orb, swirling and turning into an ornate staircase. Once the stair way had been created, Jack made his way up it. Normally he'd seek out someone to interact with. However he was on a mission to determine where an item he could use to substitute for his non-functional Green Lantern Ring was. This place was full of old myths, and legends because of the armor he had seen some of the men here wearing. A breast plate was not common armor after all, and had been replaced completely except for ceremonial armor back home.

The trek up the platform he had created was relatively uneventful. After he had finished making his way up it, the platform had faded. Now that he was on the island of Dalaran, Jack had a lot of work to do. Unfortunately he was not a tech specialist like Rafael, or Soundwave. This meant he couldn't build a communicator from scratch. There had to be some sort of market that he could buy the supplies he needed in. So far in the list of supplies he needed were some sort of weapon, because he had no way to protect himself, some sort of communicator for himself, perhaps a cell phone or something along those lines, and perhaps some sort of mentor who could teach him about this place. All in all, Jack had a lot to learn and knew that forming the Green Lantern Corps was not going to be an easy task to say the least.

It would have been easy if Jack had any kind of training whatsoever. Jack had not had any training with the Ring, and did not know how to make said ring work for himself. Of course the ring did not work right now anyway, which bothered Jack.

Traversing the pathways of Dalaran, Jack came across a market. It was like the individual in the Nexus who was wearing the breast plate had stated. If he looked for it, there would be a market where he could buy what he needed. Noticing an outfit that caught his fancy, Jack examined said outfit. The outfit had a cotton shirt that looked old school. A green and brown sleeveless leather vest covered that, and it had a hood he could pull up in order to conceal his face. Matching pants were also part of the ensemble, and a set of boots that were made out of reinforced leather. While it was not something he could see himself wearing on a regular basis, it was an outfit he should add to his arsenal decided Jack. After all, it would help him blend in better in this place until he could get a Green Lantern Ring for himself. Assuming Green Lanterns existed in the Omniverse or could exist in the Omniverse anyway. To that end he had a lot of research. Paying the coin required to purchase the outfit, Jack was quick to change into it, so that he did not look too off kilter when he explored the place.

Lost in thought, Jack began wandering aimlessly through Dalaran until he came across another shop. This shop sold relics of the past, and antiquities. It also sold trinkets, and even weapons.

"Sir, you look like you're new here. You wouldn't by any chance be a Prime would you?"  asked the kindly old woman, who couldn't be more than 5"3, and who ran the shop. She looked like she was getting up in years.

"Yes, I am new here..." said Jack, not sure where this was going.

"Well, I found a motorcycle. It's looking for someone named.... Jack Darby."

"Really? Was it Sadie who drove it?"

"Yes, I believe that's her name."

"How much do you want for the motorcycle?" Jack was very interested in obtaining the motorcycle because having Arcee around would be invaluable. Of course he'd have to figure out how to get Energon for her, but that would be something he'd have to think up on the fly. After all Energon could always be created by him should the need arise to do so.

"Consider the motorcycle on the house, Mr.Darby, since it was never mine to begin with," stated the old woman as she looked at him and noticed a ring that was familiar to one she had in stock at her shop. Rushing to to the back, she ruffled through things. A series of loud crashes later she came out with an old looking ring. The ring looked like it was made out of worn green metal, and yet radiated an energy Jack knew to a degree. The energies of Will Power were present in the ring she was carrying. "Your ring reminds me of some rings I have heard about in the Endless Dunes that use a Yellow Light, and also reminded me of this ring. I think it was called an "Oan" Ring? I don't know what it does, and no one has ever been willing to purchase the item off of me, would you be willing to pay? It's only 50 OM."

Arcee chimed in. "Jack, where are we? What happened to you? You seem to give off a sort of energy reading - like you have a spark."

Jack then looked at Arcee. "A lot has changed, Arcee, and I do mean a lot."  Jack then took the Oan Power Ring in his hands. If he did this, would it mean he could not be a Green Lantern anymore? Or could he use this as a stepping stone to actually creating a Power Ring for himself and building the tool that he needed? Jack did not know the answer to it, but planned on creating the ring he needed. One way or another he was going to have the Green Lantern Corps in the Omniverse. Sure he did not know much about leadership except what he had learned from Optimus Prime, but he could figure it out. As he slid the ring onto his finger, it crackled with both green electricity, and green light. Clearly the ring was an older model of the ones used by the Green Lanterns. For now, it would suffice.
