[/spoiler]
A well-crafted shield that marks Oscar as an Elite Knight. It measures a whopping 87cm (~34 in) tall and 48cm (~19 in) wide. While nothing particularly special makes this shield stand above others, it is capable of deflecting magics and other oddities just as well as physical attacks.
Heavy Stand - Tier 1 Super Defense
Oscar braces himself against incoming damage, blocking even incredibly powerful attacks. Blocks any Tier 1 Super Move.
Historical Notes:
Long since forgotten, it was discovered that Oscar, like many of Astora, had gained the Darksign to mark him as an undead. Shipped off to Undead Asylum, he took to freeing any undead who would show potential of being the Chosen Undead. Only narrowly surviving an almost fatal blow, Oscar had taken to living a parallel life to one such chosen. Their paths would meet a few times, even hinting at a potential friendship. Yet, it would not last. As Oscar's world began to die around him, taking anybody he knew with them, he fell into despair. The threat of losing his purpose ate away at him, driving his mind to madness. Determined to not vanish and go hollow, he stood as the final defense against his former friend, perishing at the bonfire of the First Flame.
Encountering:
Oscar is initially wary of new individuals now, skeptical as to what their motives may be. Even one who brazenly speaks them will still have him second guessing, a reflecting of him not knowing his choices himself. Yet, he is forever a knight, and will risk harm to himself in order to protect those that he views need protecting. His personal code of conduct and sense of duty see him almost recklessly taking on damn near anything if he views what he is doing as the 'right' thing to do.
Combat Tactics:
Slow and steady wins the race. As he's gotten used to fighting (and dying to) aforementioned dangers, he takes a more steady approach. He prefers to size up his opponents from behind his shield, only striking when he feels as though he understands and sees when an opening is. The only exceptions seem to be against particularly obnoxious ranged opponents, at which point he attempts to close the distance as fast as he can in order to force them into melee.
On Death:
Oscar has died before. A LOT, actually. He already registers death as more of an inconvenience to what he was doing instead of an actual threat. As such, there is very little that actually can scare him off through sheer intimidation factor. Monsters beware! (Just personality fluff)
