The Perfect Location
#1
Sick was one word to describe how Veritas was currently feeling. He had gotten sick of Coruscant and so had left that world behind. Hours later, namely about six hours later or so he was mid way through the Ashen Steppes. While the volcanic nature of the verse was not to his liking it did provide something that the other verses wouldn't provide him. Namely it provided complete and total access of a Free Variety to Geothermal Energy when he should build himself a base here. In other words, the base was going to have plenty of the way of a power supply. Of course equipping it with anything essential such as defenses, or anything like that was going to be the hard part. In addition he also had to figure out what sort of supplies he'd use in the construction of the base. Summoning up a Tablet instead of his usual Samuraizer to access the Dataverse he began to do some research on the materials Primes built their bases out of. When all it said was that they built their bases out of Omnilium, he resisted the urge to face palm after the hour he had spent on the search. Clearly he was not going to get any work done unless he did it himself. Since there was no useful information, he supposed he could improvise even though he wasn't sure what he wanted his base to look like even. Omni had said that you could create anything, so long as you had enough of the substance known as Omnilium. He wasn't sure if he had enough of the substance to be honest. Creating a place like he wanted was going to be a difficult task to say the least.

A flying base was out of the question,  no matter how much he wanted it. There were too many things that could go wrong with a base that was located in the air. For one thing he could be pushed out of it should someone manage to teleport in. Another was that it would be vulnerable to attacks from the air. So this ruled out creating a replica of the Animarium or Terra Venture for himself in any fashion. Neither would fit the purposes he had planned for the base. Given that the area was one that was filled with Volcanoes, and Lava he couldn't use the Aqua Base of the Light Speed Rescue Team either. There was little to no water in this verse, and the heat was stifling. Summoning up a bottle of water which took another three minutes, he'd gulp it down and begin to think of his predicament.

"No. The Aquabase won't do at all. For one, there is no water here. For two it would be too complicated. Another problem is that I have no idea what energy source they used to power the place. So, I'm out of luck there. The Shiba House? No. I'm not skilled enough with Symbol Power in order to create the base I imagine for myself. What kind of base should I have?"

What did he need? A roof over his head that was more than a shack. Preferably one that was defensible from all sides, so he wouldn't have to worry about a tiny but easily accessible weak point any future enemies could crawl through in order to remove his head from his body. A morbid thought, but given the battles some of the Rangers had fought, he was not willing to underestimate them. His time on Coruscant had done him no favors and he felt...weaker. Trying to summon the Shark Sabers he noticed them fail to materialize. Another try was made by him and still another, but the blades didn't come.

"Well isn't that just grand?" asked Veritas. "Just when I think things couldn't get any worse.....oh dear."  He'd try to do Dark Magic Blast Ball and nothing would happen. An attempt was made by him to summon the SPD Blaster. It's results were similar in that the opposite of what he wanted happened, in that it didn't materialize for him to use. Creating his perfect HQ was going to be an effort of immense patience and concentration because he didn't even know what it should look like. Sure the substance that Omni had given him could create anything, but one must first know what they wanted it to create in order to do so with it. As it was, he had no idea what his base should look like. What was the perfect location for the base he was going to build? Underground? Well that did have it's advantages he supposed though he'd have to make it accessible and thus probably able to be assaulted from the surface.

Suffice it to stay as he continued to trek through the barren wastelands that were the Ashen Steppes, Veritas almost regretted his decision to put a base out here in the middle of nowhere. Of course the place did have some redeeming qualities. One, thankfully there was no government nor any kind of political structure inside of the place. As such, there were no laws governing what a building or base had to look like. Due to this he was going to be free to use his own creativity and judgment for the most part when he built a base here. There were still some restrictions he was going to put into place from the getgo. One, his base was going to be on the ground and anchored firmly to the ground so that it could withstand an Earthquake knocking it down for no good reason. This of course was going to be a double edged sword against him. While it was actually true that such would protect him against Earthquakes, it would mean that his base was going to be firmly rooted in one place. As a result of this his base was going to be vulnerable to frontal attacks on it, even if he sunk it partially into the ground. Still, progress was progress and so he began to consider his options that he could use.

One idea he had for a base was to build a Command Center similar to Zordon's base of operations but he wasn't entirely sold on the idea of doing so. Stealing the idea of another just didn't feel right to him for some odd reason. What he needed was a good idea for his base. Underground was out as he wanted his base above ground. Being able to walk outside of his base without climbing a flight of stairs was a definite must. Perhaps when he had the Omnilium he might attempt such an idea in another verse with a different climate. Taking the tablet he had been using to access the dataverse in place of his samuraizer he began to do some research on what castles looked like so he might get a good idea of what his base should look like. A castle was probably too much on reflection, so he knew he needed something smaller than a castle. Perhaps a Manor of some kind would be a good idea even if it would be terribly out of place in a place like this. Of course he was going to need a home anyway, so why not live it up? Given that Omnilium did have the ability to create anything that one could wish, making his base how he wanted it was simply a wise investment down the line.

Several ideas had began to form in his head. Some of the design ideas of the Shiba House could be taken perhaps, but maybe if he were to put his own twist on them, they would be more like what he wanted. For one it would lack the magical protection that the Shiba House possessed because he wasn't sure how to recreate that. The Gap Sensors the Samurai Rangers had at their base were not needed either because he didn't plan on encountering any Nighlok nor playing the role of a hero. He was not a good guy, and didn't intend on becoming one in any sense of the word. What he was was the bad guy, the guy most people wouldn't trust. The rangers, the heroes of his home had rejected him after all and not shown him much in the way of kindness. Given back there he could never morph, Veritas knew that staying put in the Omniverse was for the best. So what he needed to do was continue to interest Omni to the best of his ability.

A design was now firmly in his mind of what he wanted his base to be like. Looks wise, what should he have it be? A plain house? The idea of such was appealing in that it would be uncomplicated, and quite simple to make. Well, compared to some of the ideas that were shooting like bullets through his brain for what he could make here in the Ashen Steppes. One thing he definitely knew about his base was that it was going most certainly to possess escape tunnels and hidden passageways to make his getaways easier in a fight, so he didn't have to stick around if someone tried to trash his base for no apparent reason whatsoever. Those could come later when he had actually built the base and came up with the name of the HQ that he was going to create for himself. On the other hand the base could be made to look like the Command Center since Zordon was not here probably, and he had searched the Endless Dunes for Ninjor, only he didn't find him.

The Shiba House was a base that belonged to Rangers who had drawn their power from power symbols that had been passed down from bloodlines. Their rangers were based off of the tradition of Samurai Warriors, and thus were called Samurai Rangers. Certainly he could use one of their ideas of the Shiba House as a base. After all, did he not fight with one of their signature weapons as his own, the Spin Sword he now carried in his possession? It was a weapon that belonged to them, and was wielded by all of their rangers except for the Gold One, according to what he knew about them from his world. The Shiba House was the best idea that he had for an HQ anyway, and was one that he was going to definitely if not enjoy, at least have an easy time of making. While he did want it to be similar to the Shiba House, he didn't want it to be a total replica of the Shiba House in terms of designs. A martial arts Dojo of some sort would suffice for the looks of his HQ he decided. What kind of dojo should he use? He knew it should be similar because he wanted his base to have that aesthetic appeal that the Shiba House did.

Finally he sat down near one of the mountains of the Ashen Steppes that he had found, and found a bit of elevated land. This was going to be the perfect place to build his initial base, and from there he could expand outward as his power increased. While this was not the place he preferred some sacrifices had to be made in order to ensure one's survival. Since he was not immortal, well he was in a way due to Omni but he knew he could still be killed, he had decided to avoid areas where he could be put in danger easily. As a result of this, Coruscant was out. Something about that Board of Directors worried him and made him a bit concerned. He'd have to do something about them if for nothing more than he wanted to make sure that he had a villainous Organization of his own in the Omniverse.

First things were first, building the perfect HQ. With that in mind, he'd grit his teeth and begin the long and arduous process of creating something out of nothing, of using Omnilium to bring what he desired into existence. Since it took three minutes to summon anything, and it was going to take far longer likely to build a base, Veritas knew he was going to be stuck here for the long haul. Especially as he'd have to summon up bottles of water or food in order to make sure that he had what he needed. Sure primes didn't need to eat or sleep but the benefits were mostly psychological for him, actually.

When he checked the Dataverse and noticed that a horde of feral secondaries with black and purple veins on them, and red eyes were wreaking havoc against the Koopa Kingdom, Veritas shook his head. This was so many levels of nope for him. His base was definitely not going to be here even though that was where he had initially thought his base should be located. Moving to somewhere else was a wise idea. Immediately he'd stop his construction efforts and convert the couple of walls he had made back into Omnilium. There was no way in hell he was going up against creatures like that without much in the way of ranged weapons in his arsenal. In other words, he was going to put as much distance between himself and this problem as he possibly could. Due to that he knew he'd have to avoid the madness of going up against them until he at least made some allies. Perhaps he could convince the Teacher that those things were a threat to his profits... but no. It wouldn't work, and he had left Coruscant so he wouldn't be used by the Teacher as a Glorified Battery. In addition to that, he had lost some of his abilities and so would be of less use to the teacher. If he ever encountered the son of a bitch who had summoned those "Darklings" he was not going to play nice.

For now discretion was the better part of valor and he knew he'd have to discreetly withdraw. Otherwise known as a Strategic Retreat, what he was really doing was getting the hell out of dodge. Running back towards the Nexus Gate as fast as his legs could carry him Veritas decided he could either find a new area to build his base in, or he could simply be homeless. Either one would work, because he was not going to allow himself to deal with creatures like that, at least not on his own, and without his full dark magic at his disposal. He'd also need more ranger-based weapons for his arsenal before he could even consider facing down something like that group of menaces. In any case he was dashing at his maximum possible speed towards the gate of the Nexus. Even then, it was going to take more time than he'd like.
