Going Rogue
#1
The trip to the bar was mostly uneventful. Apart from occasionally bumping into a passerby, nothing much really happened. Then, they reach the bar. A neon sign on the window reads: OPEN.

"Here we are, Mick." the arsonist's counterpart says, removing his shades and tucking them into his pockets. Without another word, the two walk into the bar, and sit down at the stools. The bartender approaches them, seemingly not caring about their shady appearance.

"What can I get you two?" the tender asks.

"Bring me a beer...And make it...Ice cold..." Snart replies.

"I'll have a scotch." Rory adds, the first words he's said in 15 minutes.

"So..." the Rogue leader asks. "What's made you silent for a while?"

"...I'll be honest; I'm not sure about these Rebel guys..." Heat Wave whispers in response.

"Then why did you convince me to go with them in the first place?"

Their conversation is interrupted by their drinks being placed in front of them, on the bar. Grabbing his scotch, Mick takes a drink, before placing it down again and continuing to speak.

"...The way Dredd talked about them...He acted as if they're worse than the general crooks you find down here..." the arsonist quietly explains to his friend as he takes a slurp of his beer. "Are we sure we want to have a bigger target on our backs than if we just did what we do best?"

Leonard sets down his drink. "You may have a point there, Mick...At the same time, though...I'm a man of my word."

"So?"

"I said I'd give them a fair chance...I've been with them for a day." As Snart continues, his counterpart takes another drink of his alcoholic beverage. "Give me another day, and I can make my choice."

"...Alright." Mick says, setting down his drink again.

"Why were you so sure about these guys before, anyway? You're right, it is a bigger target on our backs...After all, we're doing what we can to attack them directly." Snart whispers, gesturing up as he refers to 'them.'

"My first mission was a simple factory recovery...I didn't think we'd be thrown straight into a mission on the higher tiers." the arsonist responds, grabbing his drink and taking another quick sip.

"I guess you have a point there, Mick." the arsonist's counterpart says.

Then, a Stormtrooper walks by the front door. Odd, considering what he sees normally down here.

"...By the way, I have some...Unfinished business...That started down on tier 7." Mick says. "The guy's apparently gonna be nearby tonight, from what I've gathered...So, if you'll excuse me, I have to go find him and...Finish that business."

With that being said, Mick gulps down a bit more scotch, before getting up and leaving. Snart lets him go; it's not like he hasn't left Mick to do his own thing before. He turns, and takes another drink of his beer.

As he steps out, he walks just a bit before seeing the Stormtrooper, in an alleyway. He signals for the arsonist to come closer. Walking up to the soldier, Mick leans against a wall on the side.

"You must be Mr. Rory..." the white-armored officer says.

"And the Empire is following me around, because...?" Mick asks.

"I was sent down here to tell you the location you're to be leading the Rebellion to." With that, Mick then notices a piece of paper in his hand. He hands it to Mick. "Lead them to the alleyway on Terrence Street, the one near the street corner." Mick nods, and tucks the paper away in his pocket. "That paper is a map of the area. There is an outlined path to take you from the elevator you used to exit tier 2, to the alleyway."

"You knew which elevator I left in...?"

"I was there when you left. Besides that, we have cameras." the soldier responds. Mick nods, yet again, and without another word, leaves the alley. The soldier does the same, and begins moving in the direction of the elevator.

Heading back into the bar, Mick sits down near Snart, finding his scotch is still there.

"That didn't take long...I'm assuming you did well, considering you didn't get shot." Leonard remarks. The arsonist takes another drink.

"Yeah...It went relatively okay." Rory says, setting down his now-empty drink. Snart takes another drink, and sets down his beer can on the bar.

"Well...I'm ready to leave, Mick...Let's roll." With that, the Rogues get up, and leave.

The arsonist wakes up in the morning with a light headache. Looking around, he notes his surroundings - it's the same hotel room as before. Getting up with a groan, he leaves his room, and heads downstairs, to the man at the counter.

"Calling crows," Mick states. The hotel owner nods, opening the drawer and grabbing the handle. He then opens the hatch, and Mick heads down, before marching straight to the main room. Grant is the first thing he notes, and Snart is the second. Wendy is also there, as well as multiple of the Rebels from the clean-up crew sent for the factory mission.

"Wakey, wakey, sleepy-head," Grant jokes with a smirk, sighting the Rogue enter.

"...Hey..." Rory says, before sitting down.

"The factory has been re-claimed. Not all of us made it out alive," one of the unknown troops explained. "We gathered the weapons we could and made a break for it as soon as we saw the boys in white."

"...By the way...I remembered something...From the Dredd encounter," the pyromaniac says with a smirk. "Or, well...Something I eavesdropped on when I was leaving."

"...Oh?" Grant turns from the monitors and focuses on the arsonist, intrigued.

"...They're having a cargo delivery, in an alleyway on Terrence Street. Their last cargo drop location, in the higher tiers, was intercepted by another Rebel circuit."

"Mind if I just say, that sounds like a load of bullshit."

"They chose the lower tiers because, that's where they'd least expect a cargo drop, and tier 7 is the least populated tier, so no chance of a Rebel in disguise intercepting the cargo drop. If we get there in time, we can try to throw 'em off and get away with some of...Whatever it is."

"...That makes at least partial sense to me," the young leader says. "Unfortunately, I can't join you on the next big suicide mission...I have some unfinished business to attend to, down on tier 6."

"I'm with the kid here...Try not to have too much fun without me," Mick's counterpart states.

"You can go ahead and lead everyone else there."

"...Got it." the arsonist says. "I'll summon a few weapons before we go..."

Jon nods, and he and Leonard leave. Mick sits down, and begins to summon, preparing himself for the journey ahead.

Heat Gun in his pocket and the map in his hands, the arsonist walks. Behind him, the Rebel squadron he had been assigned to lead, armed with guns of some variety created in the factory before the attack. The trip down to the lowest tier was dull, but now they're close to the alleyway. Just a few more feet away.

"...Are you SURE you heard the Stormtroopers correctly?" Wendy asks, whilst looking down at her weapon.

"Even if I didn't, it's worth a try," Mick responds. For a minute, he hesitates, thinking about the decision he's made. But he keeps going. For revenge, and freedom coming with it. The Rebels could have gotten him killed. Isn't it justified that they're put in the situation he was in, yesterday? Isn't it justified that they get what they deserve?

"The alleyway is just ahead," the ex-Rebel says. "If the cargo drop isn't there yet, it probably will be. We might have even gotten here a bit early."

"But what if we're too late? What if-" The anti-Imperial is silenced by a blaster shot. A Stormtrooper steps out of the alleyway, followed by 3 more.

"...We are too late," Wey states.

"No, not really..."

The pyromaniac reaches into his pocket, pulling out his signature weapon and pointing it in the Rebel demolitionist's direction.

"I'd say we're right on time."

"Mick...You cheating nerf-herder!" the Rebel demolitionist shouts, aiming her own gun at him. The others aim amongst the Stormtroopers, but are quickly shot down. While the traitor was expecting blood to form, the heated blaster bolts prevented it.

"Should have thought about it...Before you tried to get me killed," Mick responds, making his anger apparent. "You should have known that station had scanners...But no, you and your 'brave' leader just 'forgot' about it." He forms air-quotes around 'brave' and 'forgot.'

"You think we tried to get you killed? It was a simple mistake!" Wey says.

"...Sorry to say, but I don't really believe you."

With that, the arsonist opens fire. Wendy ducks the assault, before being shot in the leg by one of the white-armored men. Mick takes the finishing blow, approaching her prone body and stomping his boot down on her head, crushing her skull.

"...These aren't the only Rebels. I couldn't get the rest to come with, but I can help you track down the rest."

One of the troopers nod.

"Of course, Mr. Rory..." the soldier says. "Let's head back to the station, I'd rather not spend another minute down here."

The group then leaves, ready to return to the higher tiers.
