'Fame' Bonus?

So I was thinking,

Though plenty of Primes haven't gained Recognition, I think there are more than a few who have publicized their presence in the Omniverse to the point where, perhaps, they could gain some measure of renown.

Okor and Tartaros especially come to mind, since they were both involved in two highly televised and widely promoted events (Colosseum and DA'15).

Perhaps, after participating in a certain number of events that have Omniverse-wide audiences, certain Primes could gain a small bonus of some kind. These events would specifically have to be public ones, so The Heroes Graveyard and DA'16 (as far as we know) don't count. Not sure about the Secondary Saga or Death Mountain. In the case of SS, the entire thing WAS videotaped, and I'm guessing that Top Man's recordings were viewed by just about fucking everyone in the Omniverse, considering he got a selfie with Omni, etc, so in this case, I'd think maybe yes. Death Mountain was a legendary feat, but no one was really trying to record the events or who was doing what, aside from Nealaphh, so in that case, maybe no. (Maybe I should put an IC synopsis on Antiomni.org...)

Besides, we all know that entertainment trumps gravitas.

I'm not sure what such a bonus would be; I don't feel qualified to discern that. But I feel the concept in and of itself holds decent merit.

I want action figures of everyone in DA. On the sold separately "DanteVerse Island Playset". Including a Hiro Protagonist one with Barry Minifig.

I do like the idea of extra bonuses, but I mean we already get bonuses for doing stuff. Participating in events in a verse gives one a measure of fame in the particular verse (or for stuff like DA, the Omniverse at large) that can later lead to Recognition, even if it's not an immediate tangible gain. And reaching Omni gives a chunk of OM, as does participating in Sagas. Those that do really well in Sagas also get Artefacts and much larger OM lump sums, so I'm not totally sold on them getting EVEN MORE stuff.

Not trying to shoot down the idea in any way, I'm just not sure what we could really get that we aren't already getting?

But! He still shows up just about fucking everywhere, and I think that should count for something, if nothing else, some clout in IC dealings. I see your point about the existing participation bonuses.

I do support the general idea of this, the idea of giving particular primes who maybe haven't done enough to be recognised but enough that it makes sense for people to at least know who they are. Though I agree with Mark that a bonus probably wouldn't work.

I suppose it also depends on what exactly what "fame" is in this case. If being recognised, then we kinda already have that in terms of recognition (though I can definitely understand why not many people have that.)

I mean, you don't need to have full Recognition to have people know who you are. There are like, small time Celebrities that some people would know and then there are superstars that everyone is aware of. It'd be fair to say that people that are in a lot of televised events would probably be recognized by their name/face. It just wouldn't be enough to get special favors from people like Aragorn.

I think if we give them a bonus, it should be cosmetic. Something fun to roleplay. Like someone said, action figures could be kinda cool. Maybe interviews or something lined up. Maybe easier access to more important NPCs. But I don't think they should particularly get something in the way of a competitive advantage, considering they already earn extra OM and sometimes more.
