Character name: Vitruvius
Character source: Original
Character history:
In Vitruvius' world, mankind was on the dawn of a new world war. Violence, war crimes, acts of aggression, all of it was rampant and with outlets such as social media and extremists, everyone fanned flames to birth the fire of a world gone savage. A small group of scientists wanted to bring back the age of wonder, the child-like awe of what a brighter tomorrow could bring rather than the “gimme-now” instant gratification reality they dealt with. So they built a robot. But not just any robot. The “Perfect” robot. The advances of technology made their project, dubbed Vitruvius, virtually perfect by the standards of two great men: Leonardo Da Vinci and Vitruvius himself. Built to the specifications of the famous drawing and calculations laid out by whom the drawing was named after, their Vitruvius took on a greater calling. Not satisfied with an amazing piece of technology, the scientists imbued their creation with all the knowledge that would make it a modern day Renaissance Man. Vitruvius was an encyclopedia of every science, math, architecture, medicine, art, history and philosophy. They spent long hours developing programs that would allow him to pursue knowledge, learn how to make decisions and turn knowledge to personal experience and wisdom. Crossing the line that any science fiction story would tell you not to, the scientists decided the best way to let Vitruvius grow on his own was to give him Artificial Intelligence.
The end result was an intelligent, refined and imaginative android that reeled at violence and clung to his polymath roots and refused to look to the reality about him of impending doom. He was a creature of science! Of creativity! A testament to man's capability to make something that didn't kill or maim! Why should he expose himself to the rest of mankind? The scientists agreed whole heartedly. The government however, didn't. Demanding mass production of sentient soldiers with a capacity for weapons, upgrades and violence, the military held the scientists hostage and poked and prodded at Vitruvius.
His creators were killed when they refused to work on a new line of robots and Vitruvius was disconnected as the world finally went to war.
He wasn't sure WHEN he woke up, but he knows that he did. The world was desolate. The earth was scarred. Buildings lay in ruins and the remains of war and mankind littered the landscape. With no one to talk to and no more literature to consume, Vitruvius cleaned. He tried not to keep track of the lonely centuries that passed him by, but every measure of time made him dislike humans more and more. He turned inward, recounting tales of great heroes to himself, playing back stories of adventure and justice and action. At first it was just to distract himself from his work. But soon it became a ritual, if robots believed such a thing. As time flew by, Vitruvius was more enveloped by a fantasy world that he wanted to make reality. So when the first signs of humans returned, people locked away in bunkers who had been breeding deep underground, Vitruvius saw his opportunity.
Disguising himself with animal pelts (of course nature bounced back faster than mankind), Vitruvius guided humanity to fit his purpose. A world of little to no violence, dark age technology and shaping things to hit a turn of enlightenment where peace and virtue would reign. Unfortunately mankind just wasn't built for such things the way Vitruvius was.
Within two hundred years Kingdoms rose, people claiming to rule this and that popped up, prejudices returned and violence was making a mad come back. The population wasn't overwhelming and so Vitruvius turned to damage control. He played the role of a rogue mercenary, a wandering hero who solved the problems of different territories. Someone kidnapped a “Princess”? He brought her back with extreme justice. Some insolent dissenter is planning to massacre a village with an army? He cut them down and made sure the would-be villain never hurt so much as a fly again. He kept his people in line and took every precaution to keep the world from returning to that horrific state he woke up in.
And then one day, on one his many adventures through his land, Vitruvius just disappeared. All he remembers was hearing a report of some Sacred Fire Temple being found and making his way to investigate it. And then...white.

Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength, Ranged Proficiency
Starting Powers: Insight, Suppression (Basic)
Starting Moves:
Daisho (300) -
Vitruvius was built with a pair of blades used primarily for meditative purposes, but harsh years have sharpened not only his wit, but also the Katana and Wakizashi that pop out of his hips.
Wrist Mounted Cross Bow (300) -
Something of Vitruvius' own design. A simple cross bow mounted to his right wrist makes for effective deterrents where he's from.
Writing example:
Ready. Waiting. Time ticked in his head. The internal (or would that be infernal?) clock kept time no matter where his body was. Whether time meant anything in this location was yet to be seen. He sensed the vibrations before the voice actually manifested, “My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
A Deity. Interesting. Game on, then. He hadn't dealt with Gods before. He briefly wondered (that is roamed his databanks) if Omni was from some far off pantheon. Clearly Latin in origin, much like himself. His singular blue eye split into two. He scanned the white room he was in before his unfeeling hands were filled with light.
“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.”
Desire? Odd paradox. Why take him from his home knowing that would be among the first desire? Of course that's assuming he wanted to go home. He was, after all, built for learning. Curiosity was a process constantly running in the background.
“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.”
Ah. Death. He had not tasted (Silly robot, experienced is what he meant) death. He knew what it is. He had witnessed it. He made things confront it, human and animal alike. He understood death. But like describing color to the blind, death was just a thing he had never known personally. If he is to be “reborn”, death may actually be...intriguing.
“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
Right. Ominous Omni faded out like a whisper in the wind. Left alone with this white room in a corner (yes, this great white hall of sorts had boundries), Vitruvius sought a way out. Chances were likely that this space in between spaces was not Omni's idea of being entertained. Which left him to conclude there would be an exit. Little did he know what lie in store for him.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.

The sound of metal, I want to be you. I should learn to be a man...like you.
