A shrill wheeze for air filled the cold and empty void she lay, a short gasp for air soon following as the body of the woman groggily moved into a state of consciousness. Her black hair sprawled across the even darker floor, her glasses on the verge of snapping in two as the woman lie awkwardly on the ground of the abyss.
As she moved her head up, her eyes painfully adjusted to the scene around her, soon remembering her name and what had happened to her seemingly minutes ago. Morene, her name was. A huntress to most, but in her eyes, a striving soul hoping to make things right. Morene had realized that before she had awoken, hearts like hers would most likely run into more trouble than it's worth. Only then did the woman's mind flashed to her own blade locking with a burly winged beast, a legendary gargoyle known only to her as Grigore.
Yet, his name wasn't as important now, considering she pretty much turned him to dust. Of course, Morene thought to herself as she looked down at her arm with her increasingly hazy vision, sitting in this cold and dark room, that she was still bit by this Grigore individual. Didn't feel too nice, and it certainly done her in good considering she got knocked out because of it...
The huntress blinked. Wait, she thought... room? Was she even in a room at all?
Morene shook her head slightly, the migraine still heating up in her skull as she tried to focus. Every single tiny sound and scuffle the woman made as she inspected her wounds echoed throughout the vacant void she sat on. Something didn't add up here.
The woman slowly reached up to grab at her hat covered head, hoping that it would keep her brain from tearing away at every single nerve ending bundled up in a headache induced mess. Squinting, Morene inhaled, filling her already ripped lungs with as much oxygen as she could possibly breathe in. Thankfully enough, her watery eyes dropped enough tears to clear up the sleep building up in the crevices of her eyelids.
Her vision came back to her, yet she could still barely see. She felt no wobbly feeling in her knees as she sat, yet she saw nothing to stand up on. Everything around her was dark as death.
Perhaps she did die? Morene couldn't help but ask, before immediately shooting that theory down based on the stinging pain in her ears. Pressing her gloved hand onto the floor beneath her, the huntress' eyes seemed to deceive her based on her observation that she shouldn't be feeling anything in the first place.
It couldn't have been so dark that she couldn't see anything around her, because she had abilities that helped with counteracting that problem. Even if that was the case, she wouldn't have been able to see herself and the huge row of teeth marks that previously sunk and tore into the bottom of her right gauntlet.
Finally standing upright, Morene turned around, snapping her line of sight towards... something that wasn't completely pitch black.
In matter of fact, this thing Morene had seemingly discovered was glowing with such vibrance it appeared to be completely white.
The more the huntress looked at this figure, the more humanoid it seemed. The object looked as if it were getting closer and closer to the woman, yet it did not move. Morene's vision distorted and bent, almost like a bad drug trip. Could have been illusive magics, but for the strangest reason, the woman did not move in reaction to her suspicions. Morene only stood, waiting for this brightly glowing speck to come to her.
Morene waited and waited longer, watching as the sitting figure of what looked to be a man came only a few meters away from the huntress, not even moving a muscle. Despite this, the huntress couldn't help but feel as if that crooked smile on his otherwise blank and empty white face grew larger and larger the more she looked at it.
She knew he'd begin to speak. He knew he needed to speak. When his voice came however, Morene felt surprised as she listened to the terrifying, yet soothing sound of a thousand voices call out to her all at once.
Omni Wrote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”
The huntress blinked, almost unamused. This wasn't the strangest thing she's been a part of for sure, and yet despite her gut reaction to scoff at it all, she couldn't help but feel mesmerized by how vague this Omni was with his words. Perhaps it was the way he talked, or maybe it was the way this realm was described to her. Either way, Morene listened in, interested in Omni's next words as he was interested in her own life, or at least as he claimed to be.
Before Omni spoke another word, the figure raised his hands, forming a brightly colored sphere of raw energy suspended in the black void in front of him. It glided in the air, as if a leaf blowing in the wind, before falling gently into Morene's palms. The feeling of this energy soothed the huntresses various pains, and before the woman could look up and ask Omni of his intentions, his voice echoed into the void, perhaps reading the woman's mind.
Omni Wrote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most."
If she could, Morene would have chuckled. Magic by any other name, or just life energy. Nothing she wasn't too unfamiliar with, so she thought.
As the Omnilium described by Omni pulsed through Morene's body, she couldn't help but notice it felt... different than what she was used to back on Terra, her home world. The huntress felt the need to experiment with this new gift, as she would best describe it.
Morene looked for questions to ask, though all of them came to her mind so fast that she couldn't pick anything specific. Before she even had the chance to think about it, Omni spoke his final words to her.
Omni Wrote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.
"That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”
The woman's eyes widened. Not because of any sudden revelation as to what Omni had said, his mentions of revival, or the obvious assumption that there would be others like Morene wandering this realm, but because at that very moment, she felt her vision begin blur once more, fading into even darker blackness than the abyss she had stood on only seconds ago.
A few seconds passed, and everything went numb.
. . .
Only a few moments passed before Morene's eyes fluttered open, same as last time. Though the pain was noticeably less present, the woman immediately noticed all the darkness of the void was thereby replaced with nothing but a blank white plane, just as empty as the last.
Or, so it seemed to be empty. Feeling a scratching at her back, the huntress placed a hand at her side, feeling a rough surface behind her. She turned, realizing what she was leaning on to be no wall. Looking up slightly, Morene found the perfectly chiseled brick edges of a fountain, glistening with flowing water by the sound of it.
Getting up, Morene mumbled, "What--"
She stopped for a second as she got to her knees, realizing was finally able to talk again, though that wasn't exactly the reason as to why she stopped in place.
Looking at the strange fountain, the water spewing and flowing from the top of the protruding structure of concrete seemed to sparkle with every drop, subtle yet beautiful enough to put Morene in a sense of awe. She hadn't seen anything so clean in a long time, even though the situation at hand didn't let her spend too much time looking at how pretty the water is.
Sighing, the huntress took her hands and placed it on the ends of the fountain, sitting down comfortably. Crossing her legs, Morene looked around the almost blinding white void and onto the little dots and specs moving around her beyond the horizons. Tugging at her blue poncho she felt covering her shoulder, Morene rested her head onto it, still not quite sure what to make of the situation she was faced with.
Yet, despite the horribly confusing and pace-breaking introduction into this Omniverse, the woman couldn't help but chuckle a bit.
Only a few faint voices and the sounds of flowing water could be heard after that. Breaking the illusion of silence masked by the ambiance of the Nexus, Morene whispered to herself with a hint of irony in her voice and a grin forming upon her lips.
"I must admit, this is quite the first impression, Omni."

Is...Is this all a dream?
That was the first thought running through the young girl's head as her eyes adjusted to her surroundings. The constant illumination of the white landscape made that an easy and difficult task simultaneously. To the average onlooker, she might have appeared to be a normal teenaged girl who fell asleep on the ground. Her cotton sailor fuku clothes were a little wrinkled but she seemed harmless otherwise.
However, there were a few facts that would have quelled such thoughts immediately. First, there was the fact that she appeared in front of a fountain in the center of the Nexus. She rested her back against the brick completely oblivious to its significance. Second, she was holding a longsword in her right hand and a broadsword in her left. Both weapons were pointed towards the ground but her hands refused to let go of their grips.
She did not stand from her spot and seemed content to remain where she was. She could feel the strength in her body returning as well as the rough texture of the etched brick on her back. If this really was a dream, she wouldn't be feeling the discomfort of rubbing her back against rock or the weight of the two swords in her hands. As much as Yuuko wanted to dismiss this whole scenario as just a bad dream, she wasn't delusional enough to ignore reality.
Everything about the situation seemed surreal. The 'conversation' with Omni was a one-sided affair that explained very little to her. Each time she recalled it, she grew more annoyed by it. I'm here to entertain him?! What is so entertaining about a schoolgirl who...who.... The blue haired woman closed her eyes with a pained expression on her face.
She tried to think back before she was brought to the void but her memory was hazy at best. As much as she wanted to blame her current state on the ruler of the omniverse, there were better ways to spend her energy. She closed her eyes and tried to block out everything around her, Don't panic, I just need to take my time. Think about what I do know and let everything else come to me.
After taking a deep breath, she mentally began, My name is Asou Yuuko. She slowly opened her eyes and cast her gaze on two swords, The longsword is...Valis and the broadsword is...Leethus. She continued her mental monologue while focusing on her dress, This is a high school uniform...from Seishin Joshi Gakuin Academy...yes, I got in on a scholarship since it was too expensive otherwise...but...this red cloth piece...it isn't a part of the standard outfit. It- Her cerulean eyes widened a bit in realization. It was like trying to twist open a stuck facet knob. The memories that she had briefly forgotten rushed back to her and all the emotions she felt came back with them.
In a matter of moments, tears welled up in her eyes. The blue haired maiden did not scream out loud and only the occasional sniffle confirmed her existence. Even if Yuuko's hands were free, she wouldn't have the urge to stop herself. She allowed her tears to flow down her face and stain clear droplets on her clothing.
Staring up at the clear 'sky' and utterly unable to focus anymore, she let out a single word completely oblivious to her audience, "Reiko..." This single word conveyed a strong sense of sadness, longing and regret.

Morene's eyes fluttered open once more, only realizing after she heard the strange sobbing sounds that she was about to doze off again. The only thing that stopped the huntress from splashing water on her face from this fountain in which she sat, was the small voice seeming to come from behind said fountain.
She couldn't hear it well, but it sounded distressed. A bit of an accent behind it, too. Either way, it wasn't pleasing to hear, considering she was either about to be baited into another monster's attempt at being eaten alive, or somebody else wasn't in fact as casual to react to this entire Omniverse situation coming in their lives so suddenly.
Stamping her hefty boots onto the bright and blank floor of the Nexus, Morene noted the gentle cries quieting down. Taking her first steps in this new realm, Morene slowly walked around the Fountain of Infinity, sliding her fingers along the ends of the rough brick holding the water in it's place. The huntress kept her eyes onto the other side of the fountain, soon seeing a rather small figure standing there, whom Morene quickly identified as the one making the disheartening cries.
Morene stopped in her place for a second, observing the person she saw was a moderately sized girl in a skirt and uniform, blades in both hands. This girl seemed to not have noticed Morene yet, for reasons the huntress could only guess for now. It was strange, standing there for a few seconds as tears fell down the schoolgirl's face.
The eldest of the two women there couldn't bear to watch somebody cry. Morene felt a very strong urge in her gut to do something, though for once, she didn't quite know what to say. Either way, Morene took another few steps forward to the blue-haired schoolgirl.
Yuuko could hear the faint sounds of feet approach her flank, yet she could not turn. Her head felt as if it were melting, her eyes feeling as though they were puddles in the rain. The schoolgirl did not move a muscle, and she knew not what she wanted as the tears continued to stream down her face.
Though it wasn't long at all, Morene spoke as if she were watching for hours, waiting for her mind to make up something to say.
"My dear," Morene began, her voice clear as day, though gentle as the clouds in the sky, "please don't cry."
Yuuko stopped, flinching rather harshly as the mysterious woman she suspected to be behind her spoke, regretting how her own thoughts blew Morene's rather loud approach off only seconds ago due to her admittedly being lost in her own head.
The schoolgirl turned her head rather frantically, the sight of the huntress taking seat at the fountain only a few feet behind her seeming to pop out like a beast lunging out of a dark crevice. Yuuko took a step back in obvious shock, observing the much older woman before her.
As the schoolgirl stammered, Morene continued, knowing the look on Yuuko's face as somebody who wasn't to keen on conversing in such events as this.
"Come, sit with me."

The blue haired maiden was brought back to reality by the sound of a woman's voice, clear but gentle. She had been surprised like this on more than one occasion and she silently berated herself for being so distracted. One would think she of all people would know better since she was once ambushed in a similar manner. She could even hear Reiko's voice jokingly teasing her about her personality. However, Yuuko was a girl who often wore her heart on her sleeve. If she was upset, she would show it so long as she didn't cause trouble for anyone else. After mentally reliving her best and worst moments in life, it would have been almost impossible to keep calm. Still, she was alert now and paying close attention to the woman a few feet away from her.
Yuuko had never seen a woman as tall as the one standing before her. She had certainly seen demons that matched this height or grew taller than that but a human was surprising for her. Furthermore, the woman's armor as reminded her of the styles the demons were fond of wearing. While these ideas were troubling to her, Yuuko didn't simply turn and run. First off, the woman was clearly human despite her attire. Secondly, even if she had some connections with demons, that didn't automatically make her a threat. The black clad woman had plenty of opportunity to do something to her and Yuuko realized that she had intentionally chosen a civil approach. Tense feeling in Yuuko's muscles subsided as instinct gave way to logic. For the time being, Yuuko was not going to flee.
She took a few steps forward but paused as a thought crossed her mind. The young girl turned towards the sturdy brick wall around the fountain and set her two swords down against it. She dug the tips of the blades into the 'ground' so that the weapons could lean against it. Clearly, she tried her best to not seem hostile though one might wonder why she would carry two weapons around with no place to put them away. With her free hands, Yuuko tried to clean up her face a little by wiping away her tears. She immediately bowed towards the armor clad woman, "I...I am sorry if I was disturbing you. I just...had a lot to take in." Her voice cracked a little as she recovered from her crying fit. Yuuko began with an apology of all things because she was worried that she might have offended the woman in some way with her crying. Raised on Japanese customs, Yuuko kept her body straight as she bowed at her waist. A part of her thought the woman might not appreciate the subtle meaning behind it but Yuuko always clung to these traditions to keep herself grounded in the face of the bizarre.
The schoolgirl decided to take up the strange woman's offer as she sat down on the ground next her. Although Yuuko was unarmed, her blades were still within easy reaching distance. A part of her still wasn't sure why she decided to come close. Perhaps it was the tone of the woman's voice that prompted the action. Perhaps it was the fact that she heard the woman speaking perfect Japanese. The idea that Omni took language into account when he created the Omniverse didn't even cross her mind. The biggest reason was that Yuuko felt lonely and she really did need someone to talk to. The blue haired girl gave a weak smile as she glanced up at the pure white sky, "...I think I might be stating the obvious given the landscape." However as soon as the words left her mouth, a new realization dawned on her. She looked at the armor clad woman and immediately added, "Ah, unless this is normal for you and you actually live here...um which if so...I apologize yet again."
If there was one truth about Yuuko, she was an honest person. Even if she tried to lie about something, her poker face was non-existent. At best, she could omit facts or choose to remain silent. So it was clear as day that she meant no offense.

Morene's lips pressed together in an attempt to mask out the rather playful chuckle leaving her mouth at the moment. If Morene had looked at the blue-haired schoolgirl just then instead of throwing her head back ever so slightly, she'd have been able to see a slight blush forming, yet for good reason.
The huntress could only have imagined what was going through this small girl's mind right about now. Morene's head tilted a bit as she opened her eyes once more, looking this girl straight in her eyes with a simple smile on her face.
"Oh," Morene began suddenly, almost shocking Yuuko whom sat next to her, "I'm not from around here, trust me."
The maiden blinked as Morene continued, "Though, if you were disturbing me, I'd be legitimately impressed, especially considering all I've seen in my time!"
Yuuko took this answer as a simple 'no' to her first offer of apologies, even if she could admit she only said it out of a bad habit. Even with how friendly this woman seemed, she couldn't get the horrible pit out of her stomach, let alone what she was thinking of only seconds before Morene intruded.
"Ah, might I ask your name?" Morene spoke up once more as Yuuko's eyes wandered, snapping them back towards the huntress she sat next to. The eldest of the girls at the fountain continued, "I only now figure it must be extremely rude of me to pop in at such a time without giving you my own name, yes?"
Yuuko could barely make a sound before Morene continued, acting as if she'd known the schoolgirl for years, yet making up a very convincing introduction without a single stutter or crack in her voice.
"My name is Morene. Morene Fellon, but you may call me whatever you please, for as long as it comforts you."
As Morene finished introducing herself, she let out her gloved hand, leaning closer as if she, like Omni, was also interested in this girl's life, though for much different reasons, as Morene would hope Yuuko could witness. The huntress' lips moved once more, the words coming from her mouth as quick as her hand reached out to the maiden she faced.
"Yours?"

Patience was the key to getting through to the blue haired girl. Yuuko did not feel pressured into sitting or even talking to Morene and the older woman took the initiative to introduce herself first. Furthermore, hearing that she wasn't from around here either cemented the idea that she might have been summoned as well by Omni. A part of Yuuko felt a little embarrassed that she had handled her appearance in this world so poorly. Considering that Morene had not only remained composed but reached out to her, the young girl could only berate herself a bit. This technically wasn't the first time she had gone to another world, intentionally or not. Still, she was on the verge of tears then too.
No longer worried about her situation, the blue haired girl spoke up once more, "Yuuko. My name is Asou Yuuko. It is nice to meet you, Miss Morene." Yuuko extended her hand out to Morene and shook it.
She added as she glanced at her surroundings once more, "I guess that being called Omni brought you here too. I...really didn't like how he spoke. He dropped us here with only a few words and it was a...dizzying experience. Omnilium? Rebirith? It felt like we were just brought here for his entertainment. When I woke up in front of the fountain, my head felt a little foggy and I had a hard time remembering things from the past. It came back to me after a moment but...well. If we are to think about what we desire most, then in my case it would be to go home and be a normal student again with no more weird or horrible things happening! Even if I do have Valis and Leethus, I did not want to come here by choice." After letting go, she realized that Morene would have no clue about her swords. In her comfort, she had let the names of her blades slip.
While she briefly wondered if she had said too much, she pushed that thought aside. Yuuko reasoned that if Morene wanted her blades, she could have simply taken them by force when Yuuko was crying. With this thought in mind, she pointed to them and elaborated, "Oh, sorry. The narrow longsword is called Valis and the broadsword is Leethus. Those swords are...well, they aren't like normal weapons. They have personalities and a lot of power...usually. Right now, they are oddly silent...almost like they are asleep so...I don't have any way to prove it right now....and I probably sound crazy to you. If I told myself about all of this years ago, I would feel that way...so it is alright if you don't believe me." She sighed deeply as she spoke her mind. If it weren't for the surreal experience, she wouldn't have bothered to explain her weapons to Morene.
She knew better than to tell normal people about the true nature of swords. When Yuuko first brought home Valis, she had to gloss over the truth. She claimed it was a present from a friend which only prompted more questions. She sidestepped them by saying she wanted to try fencing and thankfully her foster parents hadn't pressed her further. Somehow, she doubted that anyone would believe that she got it from an otherworldly queen. As much as Valis complicated her life, Yuuko had to admit that the voice of the blade kept her calm during her worst battles. However, the silence of her weapons was deafening now. It was ironic how she wanted to be normal but sometimes got used to the strangeness around her. If she could have heard Valis' voice, she might have been calmer upon her arrival to the Nexus. Thankfully, Morene was here and filling the void with her presence.
Even if Miss Morene thinks I am lying....I should still thank her for listening.

Clicking her tongue, Morene found it strangely amusing that Yuuko could look at somebody like her and doubt in their likelihood to believe such stories. After all, Yuuko could only assume how weird must it have been in this context, if Morene herself wasn't much at all phased by being shoved into a blinding white void with no signs back home, wherever that must have been.
"Oh, you mustn't worry," Morene perked up, "I've heard much stranger!"
Yuuko blinked, looking straight into Morene's eyes. Even for the blue-haired maiden, she could easily assume that by merely watching Morene's facial expressions, she wasn't kidding.
Slowly, Yuuko stammered out in response, "Oh, well... In that case... Thank you for listening, Miss Morene."
The huntress giggled lightly, only nodding her head back in return as she slid her body to face the empty whiteness of the Nexus. Squinting, Morene swore she saw more than a few moving specs in the distance, which in a situation like this, she could only hope was a good thing. Yuuko, clasping her hands together, looked at her slightly dirtied shoes, seeming to be at a loss for words.
It was at that moment, Morene's lips seemed to have formed a crooked frown, her eyebrows raised slightly that both of these fountain dwellers would have to get up and move. A terrible thought, indeed!
Well, perhaps not in Morene's case, for her suit allowed her to fly, but... Unless Yuuko got up and sprouted wings from her back, looked as if that wasn't the case at all.
Sighing, Morene's eye twitched at the very temptation to get up on her feet, seeing how they were already killing her for whatever reason. Yuuko, though quiet, seemed to take notice.
"Miss Morene? Is there something wrong?"
The eldest of the women's eyes shot open, Morene not intending at all for Yuuko to have heard her so vexed.
Morene could only let out yet another chuckle that almost broke the poor schoolgirl's eardrums. "Well!" she began, "I realize now we have to get moving soon, don't we?"
Yuuko almost fell off her seat after leaning back as far as would be considered natural in response to the sudden outburst, but after giving the actual sentence enough thought, the blue-haired maiden found herself nodding quietly in agreement, her words following short.
"Yes, but... Where will we go?"
"Ah," the huntress began, certain at first, before looking down realizing she had absolutely no idea. She continued to stammer, "I--... Hm... We'll just go where the wind takes us, I suppose!"
Slowly, Yuuko thought of such an idea, wandering around the unknown lands finding whatever purpose the environment and society, if there even was one, would give them. Perhaps it was just her way of thinking, but didn't that usually lead to trouble? Of course, if Morene thought it be appropriate, and safe for that matter, could she be wrong? Surely, Yuuko had only known her for a few minutes at most, but so far she's been the one to support her every second of the way, so...
Yuuko replied, confidence in her voice for seemingly the first time, "Very well."
Those two words were short, and needless to say simple. Though, that couldn't have masked the implications that, in Morene's glistening eyes, Yuuko trusted her now. The armor-clad woman could only hope future events allowed her to prove to Yuuko that she'd do anything to repay that trust.
Shaking her head, deciding not to get too dramatic with the situation, Morene hopped up off of the fountain, her thick boots colliding with the base of the Nexus, a loud clap following soon after.
"In that case," the huntress began once more, "let's get going, shall we?"
Though nervous, Yuuko could not refuse, and to show for it, she rose as well. Soon, they walked, walked until their feet became numb towards the growing dot on the horizon of the void. Though there may have been other places they could have gone, in the back of their minds, both spawns of Omni knew from the newfound energy surging within them, that this Omniverse would certainly hold many adventures in the days to come.
It was a nice thought, Morene silently told herself, if not a bit cheesy.

The blue haired teenager once again picked up her swords and seemed ready to leave for parts unknown. As the pair walked to the west, Yuuko had not noticed the small specs in the distance immediately. She was still getting used to the idea of walking on invisible ground and truth be told had no clue that they were even traveling 'west'. Her first few steps away from the fountain were a bit hesitant but she walked with purpose after awhile. She would never call herself the adventurous type but she felt she could adapt fairly well. After all, if she didn't learn to live with the weirdness that accompanied her, Yuuko would have died thirty times over by now.
It was only after a few more minutes of walking that the specks became noticeable to her as well. The Valis Warrior squinted her eyes as if to try to make out the objects in the distance. It was no easy feat considering that the objects were only a slightly different shade of white moving upon the bleached landscape and the pale colored sky. She soon gave voice to her concerns, "Um....I don't think those specks are part of the landscape." Yuuko heard Morene confirm her thoughts, "They appear to be men in white armor. A good camouflage choice given the area."
The silence that the duo had enjoyed up to this point was slowly being replaced by the faint sound of distant engines coming closer to their location. The specks quickly grew more defined as they were indeed humanoids in matching armor. The armored men were riding on vehicles that appeared to bikes without wheels that hovered above the ground. It soon became clear that there were six men riding in pairs upon their futuristic bikes. Yuuko wondered if it would be better to get out of their way or change directions, but she rejected the notion. They were in a strange place and these were the first people they spotted besides each other.
She hopefully commented, "While I'm not sure its a good idea...maybe they'll be friendly? I just hope they understand Japanese at least half as well as you do, Miss Morene. I can speak English but...well, it was not my best subject." Yuuko noticed a thoughtful expression on Morene's face as she heard the elder woman reply, "...I think Omni has another hand in that. To me, you are the one speaking my language perfectly." In the few minutes before the stormtroopers would arrive, Yuuko tested Morene's theory. She switched languages from Japanese to english and spoke, "Do. you. understand. what. I. say? My. English. is. not. well." In those two sentences, it became crystal clear that English was not her first language at all. She spoke in an accent and her words were broken up as she thought about them. Morene for her part merely commented, "We should stick with native languages. At least nothing will be lost in translation."
Yuuko's hope bolstered a little, If we can talk to them, we can try to learn more about this world.
The speeders slowed to a stop 60 feet away from the duo in a V formation with the front two bikes forming a barrier for the rear one. From this distance, it was easy to tell that all of them were armed as blaster rifles hung from their shoulders. The soldiers on the forward bikes looked towards the rear one. The driver of the third bike had the same armor as the rest but he wore a red shoulder pad over his right shoulder. Thanks to their helmets, it was impossible to see their expressions but the tone of his voice betrayed his annoyance. He muttered a little louder than he intended, "...Radar picks up activity near the fountain and all we get are two unknown primes." He shouted a little louder to his men, "Stay alert! Keep an eye out for priority targets and those tin can knights."
After he gave his orders, he turned towards Morene, "Listen well prime, if you keep going in this direction, you'll reach Coruscant, the greatest city in all of the Omniverse. You are welcome to enter there so long as you don't cause trouble. You primes have a bad habit of breaking reality where ever you go. I don't care if you can shoot lasers out your eyes, belch up fire or make it rain toads, do NOT cause trouble in the Emperor's City." Yuuko tilted her head in surprise as she commented, "Those are odd traits but I can safely say I can't do any of th-" The captain of the unit immediately cut her off, "Quiet. The adults are talking here."
A small frown grew on Yuuko's face as it seemed apparent the squad captain was more willing to talk to Morene instead of her.
Am I invisible to him?

Her eyes twitching listening to the captain's foul words, Morene couldn't have helped to instinctively turned to Yuuko, the shocked look on the huntress' face nonetheless surprising the blue-haired maiden. Either way, it didn't much help the mood, despite Yuuko getting the hint that Morene wasn't in agreement with what this armor-clad man had to say about her.
Sighing, Morene could only look back to the captain and hesitantly reply, a hint of venom in her voice as she did so.
"Yes, yes, I get it."
Wanting to say more, the huntress could only hold her tongue and squint her eyes awaiting a response. Silence filled the air for a short moment in the Nexus, and the captain was almost impressed at how that was the only retort he'd gotten so far today. Looking over at Yuuko, Morene noticed her standing there quite timidly, wanting to break the deafening quiet of the blank white verse.
Morene had already grew tired of the wait, rolling her eyes as she spoke up again. "Well, cat got your tongue? Will you let us in, or what?"
The captain slowly turned to face the gate behind him, glistening with enough light to make his armor almost blinding to look at.
"Alright," he began, "if that's all, then yes, we'll allow you to go through. Just remember--"
"I get it, don't cause any trouble," Morene spat, slightly annoyed at this point with how tedious this entire process was. Yuuko couldn't help but feel a pit in her stomach in response to how intense this entire scene was, even though she knew nothing would happen. At least, hopefully so.
Despite how bad she did feel, Yuuko was thankful that she had somebody like Morene by her side, somebody that already began standing up for her when they had only met a mere hour beforehand. Morene herself wasn't thinking much of it at this point, simply wanting to smack the helmet off of this arrogant tin-headed toy-totting manchild in front of her, though if she did have the time to admit it, Morene would have also felt grateful in Yuuko's presence.
"Come, dear," Morene spoke, turning towards Yuuko as she signalled to follow. The blue-haired girl nodded only once, before slowly following as the huntress in front of her stamped her feet onto the ground, stepping forward.
The captain looked at the woman as she walked past, and for a split second, the man could have swore he saw the quickest death glare he'd ever gotten from somebody. He couldn't have confirmed it however; Morene turning her head before he could see anything else. Either way, it almost struck him as threatening. Thinking about it, he couldn't help but chuckle as the two girls stopped themselves in front of the gate, the rest of his men watching them both with the excuse that they were making sure they didn't make any sudden moves, though in all honesty, they were just intrigued as the captain was with Morene's seemingly short-spoken nature in contrast to most of the cockier Primes they had encountered.
Once more, the two women in blue looked back at the Nexus, before they looked at each other to make sure the both of them were ready. Surely, Morene's face was nothing more than a small smile, hinting that she's probably went through this kind of thing beforehand. As for Yuuko, the huntress could only guess, but either way, the two nodded.
Her arm reaching outwards, Morene was the first to step in, Yuuko hesitantly following as both Primes nearly went blind after entering the gates of Coruscant.
