Nexus Transit
#1
Koal felt prepared, this time, this spinning and twisting of portal travel had a pattern to it, and the young man had just deciphered it. When the portal spat them back out, Koal twisted in the air and landed on his feet. It wasn't a graceful touchdown, but it was better than diving headfirst into the ground.

He couldn't, however, say the thing for his companion.

She was thrust out of the portal, and her not being able to extend her wings in time, hit the ground. Hard. Leah let out a large groan whilst rolling onto her back. Koal tried to stifle a laugh, hiding his grinning mouth behind his hand. His companion noticed and shot him a look of mock anger. "Think that's funny. Oh, I bet you do. Someone hitting their face on a hard surface is soo hilarious." She let out a huff, walking ahead of Koal, "Well...Yeah. It was." She stuck her tongue out at him over her shoulder before sprinting ahead. The young man let out a laugh before calling after her, "Very mature!"

Their journey back to the Nexus portal hadn't been super eventful, but what would you expect? Leah thought she had caught sight of a few people traveling in the distance, but we couldn't confirm. The blizzard started back up, but this time, we were traveling with the wind to our back, slightly speeding up out movement. Koal had reprimanded Leah for threatening Ballad, and she had shot him a complacent look, saying that she had her reasons.

Koal could respect that, but he hoped this didn't lead to repercussions down the road. They had reached the Nexus portal, and Koal had warned Leah about the experience inside. She had laughed at him, playing off the situation, but Koal could tell she was apprehensive. Koal had let out a dark chuckle, startling her further, before jumping in, Leah following closely behind.

Koal had been oblivious to all during his musing, but a sharp rap to his chest brought him back to attention. His head snapped up, his violet orbs narrowing. A figure clad in pristine white armor stood in close proximity to him, aiming a gun of some sort at him. The figure gestured at Koal with his gun before speaking, "State your identity, and identify your intentions." Koal glanced past the man, looking for his companion. The soldier saw his gaze and straightened, gesturing to a small squadron of other figures. "She is also being identified, sir." his voice sounded like it was overlayed with static, and it took Koal a moment to decipher his words. He let out a sigh of relief, before smiling warmly at the man.

"What do I do?" At his words, the soldier holstered his weapon before pulling out a tablet of some kind. " Name?" His question came out sharp and emotionless. "Koal Lynch." He made annotations on the pad. "Prime or secondary?"

"Prime." The man tapped the tablet a few more times before putting it away." Thank you for your cooperation, sir. May we escort you to the gate? Koal let out a shrug, his face nonchalant. " Thank you for the generous offer..."

"Wolfe, sir. You may address me as Commander Wolfe." The trooper picked up where Koal left off, and Koal held out a hand for the man to shake. The man seemed to look at it before shaking the outstretched hand. Hee then pointed Koal to the larger group, telling Koal to fetch his companion and then they would be off. He did as instructed, and the group began to march...
