Are You Afraid of the Dark? -- Joining: Shade
#1
Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, it is I,Emerald, Shade. This is my alt, which I donated for, and during it's creation I was very inspired by Zangetsu's character and approach to living in the Omniverse. Though. my character is a little more parasitic than symbiotic.

Quote:Character name: "Shade"

Character source: Original

Character history: People fear the darkness, from childhood and even into adulthood. Some think it's because we fear what we cannot see. Maybe it's because you're scared of what you do see. The Shadows.

Physical Description:

"Shade" is a Shade, a shadowy demon creature who inhabits the shadows of our world. Without taking someone as a host body, and overcoming their will and replacing it with her own, she has very little influence on the world outside of the shadows. She move through the world by traveling along the shadows, or in the dead of night when everything is dark. When attached to a host body, she replaces their shadow, even showing the new shadow when it would otherwise not be there normally.

When free of a host, she is very vulnerable to attack. When attached to a host, the host body's death results in hers, and any damage received by the host also causes comparable damage to Shade. While not noticeable by any physical cuts or burns, such attacks on the host would impede Shade's ability to fight to the same degree.

Stats:
ATK:4
DEF:1
SPD:3
TEC:2

Starting Proficiencies: Physical Strength 1000 OM

Starting Powers: Basic Fusion 1000 OM, Symbiosis 1000 OM, Foresight 1500 OM

Starting Moves:
Shade Blade (Requires Physical Strength) - 300 OM
Shade augments her host's limbs with sharp, claw-like blades, protruding from each knuckle and toes. These blade are invisible to the naked eye when view from the host's limbs, but are mimicked in their entirety in the host's shadow. Individuals with Enhanced Senses can see the shadowy claws on the host's limbs with increasing clarity depending on their skill, reaching almost complete clarity by those with Mastery over their Enhanced Senses.

I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct. Yes.

Everything looks good here. I'll approve your account.

Are you gonna set me up a Purchase log and Stat layout for my first Roster post like last time?
#4
Nope, I'll do that. Give me just a second.

Just to make sure, I AM under the impression that you can be attacked and killed in your base form. *stamps*

I was thinking one of two things.

Either, while unconnected to a host, she is easily killed if caught (by light based power). If she is connected to a host body, then an opponent must kill the body to kill her, and she cannot body jump during combat, at least not to unwilling hosts; (With this, I was thinking that she could jump to an ally as either fusion, or just to ride them around and attack independent of them). And if she does jump, her original host body would drop limp like a corpse, with no shadow attached to it period; (Leaving it open for attack). This is the preferred one.

Or, that if one were to attack the shadow of a host body, they would damage Shade directly as she is now the actual shadow of the host body.

Noooo we don't do that stuff. You can't have any special powers besides what your powers let you do.

Im sorry, could you be more specific in what the problems were with my proposal? And maybe suggestions on how I can approach this while not making Shade a 1 hit wonder.

Basically "You can't have any special powers besides what your powers let you do." sums it up.

Re: light:
"We do not allow moves to have benefits against specific character types. You can, if you wish, role-play your character as having a weakness to certain things but this will provide no benefit and is for role-playing purposes only."

You can give yourself weaknesses but there's going to be no benefit aside from you want to do that for role-playing fodder. There is a lot of potential for crazy character types here but you are limited to what you can do within the rules. There is no bending them.

So, basically, she can be attacked in her base form, and symbiosis is like fusion so she takes damage when the person she is fused with takes damage. S'how it is. No complicated stuff.

Alright, then how about something like this:

When free of a host, she is very vulnerable to attack. When attached to a host, it's death results in hers, and any damage received by the host also causes comparable damage to Shade. While not noticeable by any physical cuts or burns, such attacks on the host would impede Shade's ability to fight to the same degree.

So basically just like normal, right? Except with an additional roleplaying weakness for being outside of a host. That's fine.
