Subject:Questions about the Monotruth

I have found your book, the Monotruth to be a very interesting read and am considering joining with the Omniverse institute however I do have a list of questions that I hope you will take the time to answer, I find that asking questions is always a good approach before signing up for something. As such I will be going through the chapters of the Monotruth and pointing out any musings or concerns I may have.

Prologue: If the smiling one is truly all knowing then what would the point of these worlds be, after all he would already be able to see the result of everything that is going to happen, perhaps he is merely Omnipotent, Also if he is all knowing then surly he would know how to prevent any opposition to his game very easily. He may just be enjoying watching all the planning you put into it, just to have it all fall to pieces with a wave of his hands and laugh as we all struggle.

1. One musing I have is that not all of us lost power, I personally feel better than I ever have before, I heal quicker, am able to move faster and I am able to jump much higher than I ever could before, I was also almost certain to die before I was taken here, in a way I could view this smiling one as a saviour. I do agree with the other crimes though particularly the crime of cowardice, to many times have I seen aloft nobles hide away whilst the people they view as bellow them fight it out.If the Smiling one is willing to put us all in danger for his amusement then perhaps he should be leading by example?

2. I agree with pretty much everything in this section and in particular have a few suggestions for the dunes, perhaps by removing empire influence from the dunes and giving control to a much more centralized faction say, New Babylon. Its resources could be far better used. New Babylon has already been working on many of the things that you plan for the dunes; we act as a safe haven for any and all travellers in the dunes no matter their background. However tensions with the empire have prevented us from dealing with other threats like the bandits, perhaps this institution could work together with us; our goals do not seem that dissimilar.

3. This is a section I have some problems with, I am an assassin and as such my profession relies on working around whatever laws are in place, I agree with the idea of secondary rights but if one does enough to become a target I would not be able to not kill them. Assassin’s honour. I do agree with the principle but at the end of the day there will always be particular Secondaries that it would be better for everyone if they were to disappear

4.Nothing much to say on this, both theories are interesting but are hard to prove without the smiling one himself confirming it, and even then who is to say that he would tell us the truth.

5. A very interesting view and one that I agree on, from my understanding Secondaries cannot use Omnilium so devising an alternate currency could go a long way to promoting the rights of Secondaries as it would give them more economical power, still not quite on par with that of the Primes but it is a step. However what could this new currency be?

I have enjoyed reading your theories on the Omniverse and believe that the pursuit of knowledge and improvement of the world around you is a noble one; however I wonder what you have to gain from all of this? However your end goal is no real matter to me, as long as I enjoy the journey your grand plans will lead to that is all that matters. I hope that you will respond and give me your thoughts on my questions, musings and suggestions. So long as the answers are satisfactory I should be able to help with your institute, I do have some prior arrangements in the dunes to take care of but once that is out of the way I should be free to help.

Sincerely
Victor Wolfe

Subject: Questions about the Monotruth

Greetings, Victor Wolfe.

First of all, allow me to congratulate you on your accomplishments within Dante's Abyss. I, for one, could be called a fan of your work. Truthfully, must we evaluate victory in such a limited scope as those dictated by Karl Jak? Some may have walked away with treasures, but you, my friend, walked away with renown. That is a gift that is not so easily won.

But, please do excuse my enthusiasm. I am happy to answer whatever questions you might have regarding my plans and ideas for the Omniverse.

Your first question is, perhaps, the most difficult, as it is largely existential in nature. I believe, perhaps, that your confusion stems from differing perspectives on what the word 'Omniscient' means. I posit that, within the Ommiverse, The Smiling One knows everything that is, but he does not know everything that will be. Even if he did, would he then not be just as much a slave to fate as we would be?

Regarding his possible counteractions against our future endeavors, I personally find it better to try and be bested than to live in complacency. Perhaps my vision for the Omniverse is a doom-driven task, but I cannot simply stand idle in the face of such a clear challenge.

I am glad that you have found your time in the Omniverse to be as empowering as you have. Perhaps I could even understand feeling indebted to The Smiling One for essentially saving your life. If you were to humor my theories, however, you might come to realize that you did not, in fact, escape your doom, being only copied from that point in your life, and not 'taken' wholesale. Or...perhaps against all odds, you did escape your ensured death. We will never know, though, because Omni has decided you would make a fitting accessory to his whims, and therefore has forced your hand into leading a new life. A prison can be as succulent a paradise as any fabled Nirvana, but can you truly say you live your life in freedom? This, I cannot tell you; it is your own answer to find.

I have considered seeking an audience with King Gilgamesh for the purposes of collaborating a general improvement for the status quo of the Endless Dunes. I was planning on making more overt strides towards such negotiation when the time comes to install a chapter of the Institute within its sands.

Regarding your chosen profession, I will not be the one to tell you cannot take a life if you so choose. It is not my intention to act as the warden of our mutual prison, not will I presume to try and dictate what is 'right' and 'wrong'. I do, however, find it necessary for our Secondary brothers and sisters to have an acceptable measure of consideration within the Omniverse. A fundamental groundwork for a legal system will go a long way in my eyes.

Regarding your inquiries on currency, again, I cannot presume to be able to provide all possible solutions for any given problem. To do so would remove other primes and secondaries from a chance to give their perspectives and input. True, I intend to lend my insight to any potential 'Omnidollar' that may come to pass, but it is not my place to be a total dictator.

As for explaining why I have the drive to achieve what I desire, I can only say that I strive to see and draw out the full potential of anything that I encounter. As it stands, the Omniverse is desperately hampered in its ability to be more than a collection of partitioned nations and biomes. The Smiling One is the barrier we must slowly dig our way through to become a fully realized society.

Your thoughts and questions are pleasingly well structured; it would be my pleasure to offer you a place in the Omniverse Institute within the Unity Branch. Please, if you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to our future ventures,

With regard,

Nealaphh

Subject:Questions about the Monotruth

I thank you, not many people seem to be able to see that I did what needed to be done in the Abyss, after all if I did not do it then someone else would have. And I do consider it a personal victory, the renown has opened up many a opportunity for me, all of which I shall use to there full potential.

Your answers to my questions are very insightful and written in an easy to understand manner, they certainly have given me a very different way of looking at this prison we are in.

The Unity branch is very fitting, I do love some exploration and the pursuit of knowledge, I am definitely in and I look forward to our future endeavors.

One last question, who else will be in the Unity branch? I would like to know the identity of my future colleges for, research purposes, I tend to find a little research can help prevent any disputes in the future .

Sincerely
Victor Wolfe

Dear Mr. Wolfe

I am glad to hear that you are willing to make I commitment to the Omniverse Institute. Currently Demetri Malius is the only other official member of the Unity Branch, though a prime known as The Grey Man may also come to serve therein.

Otherwise it is difficult for me to say who may or may not end up joining the Institute. Let me know if or when you are available for an assignment.

Thank you again,

Headmaster Nealaphh
