Hamon - 600 OM (Physical Strength, Debuff Proficiency, Buff Proficiency)
Translated as Ripple, and also known as Sendo [Way of The Hermit/Wizard], the art of Hamon allows one in a thousand humans to wield what is effectively the power of the Sun. This ability was based off of the ideology that all life ultimately draws energy from the sun. Hamon practitioners use controlled breathing to accumulate 'solar' energy within themselves, which can then be released and manipulated in waves of solar power (the Ripple for which the name is drawn from) in a similar practice to the likes of chakra or ki.
In its base form, Hamon is a conductive energy that is transmitted from the user through contact- from as simple as a punch or jab to an extended lay on hands. A Hamon user learns to channel the Ripple at different 'frequencies' to affect materials differently, either distorting them to weaken their durability (i.e. making iron as weak as tin) or resonating with them to increase their tensile strength (i.e. granting a hemp rope the strength of a steel cable). In terms of dealing with people and other life forms, this effectively increases or decreases their durability, whether it be affecting armor or skin. When channeling these effects, a Hamon user may maintain it on a chosen object for up to 8 seconds, so long as the object remains within 12 feet of the user.
The disadvantage of Hamon is that the user must be able to constantly and consistently breathe; if breathing is stopped or stunted for any reason, the Hamon user is unable to create more energy and control the Ripple properly. Maintaining a Ripple effect, in particular, requires controlled breathing that cannot be disrupted, or else the effect would also be dispelled.
Overdrive - 300 OM (Physical Strength)
By expelling a large amount of raw Hamon energy, a powerful attack known as an Overdrive can be performed. Because of the versatility of Hamon, Overdrives come in many forms, often named and personalized to a user's fighting style. The most basic of Overdrives, simply called 'Overdrive', is just a huge pulse of Hamon energy conducted through a physical blow - the user's limb shines with a raw blue energy that surges into the struck target, the force of the Ripple amplifying the damage dealt.
In order to perform any sort of Overdrive, the user must take a deep, powerful breath as a 1- to 3-second charge period to generate the amounts of Hamon necessary for the attack. An Overdrive can be delayed in a fashion by holding that breath in until the attack is made, but once they exhale at all, the Ripple energy is released.
Spent OM: 4900 OM
