Alchemy hits the Omniverse
#1
Edward had made it, his final battle, saving his brother from certain death. Edward was here again, at the Gate and – most importantly – confronting Truth again. Edward was prepared, he knew what he had to sacrifice in order to win, it would cost him almost all of who he had become since then but for his brother, he would do anything. Just as he was about to speak up, and make his sacrifice, the world below him dropped out from underneath him and faded to black.

Edward found himself in a pure black room, or what he believed to be a room. He could feel the ground, but he couldn’t see it. There was no sound, but he got an odd feeling like he was being watched. As Edward desperately tried to talk – only to find that he couldn’t – a white figure appeared in front of him. From the darkness a single, white figure appeared from nothing. A figure that he recognised all too well.
Truth!?’ Edward tried to call out, but only succeeded in thinking what he was trying to say. The figure explained that his name was Omni, and that Edward was now in a place called the ‘Omniverse’. Edward watched as Omni materialised a ball that shone with all the colours of the rainbow, explaining that this was a substance known as ‘Omnillium’ and that he was now a Prime with the ability to passively absorb this substance and use it to will things into existence. As the ball absorbed itself into Edward’s chest, he felt a strange tingling feeling and then it was all gone. Omni had left, and the world returned to its dark, jet black, colouring.

Just as soon as this happened, it all changed, suddenly Edward was in a white world sitting next to a fountain of sorts.
Truth you bastard! I knew you’d screw me over!’ Edward shouted, realizing that he had gotten his voice back. Truth was tricky, but Edward wasn’t about to give up. Edward looked around, noticing that there was nothing but the white horizon and this fountain in sight. Edward examined the area even closer, noticing that the horizon was actually dotted by gates, maybe they were the same gates that he had seen when at his own gate.
You’re not screwing me over Truth, I’m coming for you. And then… I'll get my body back, and Alphonse’s as well!’ Edward exclaimed as he looked around at the different Gates that were on the horizon.

I get brought here by Truth just before I am able to get my brother’s body back, and on top of that I’m in a completely white world which isn’t unlike the plane where Truth’s gate was. This is just great.’ Edward sighed to himself as he wondered if his Alchemy even worked in this place. Edward pulled back the right sleeve of his coat, revealing his metal arm. It shone strangely within the place Truth had called the ‘Nexus’, Edward had determined that it had no sun, and the fact that it was bright was because there was no darkness in this place, or at least that was what Edward had determined. Edward clapped his hands together and then waved his left hand over the metal plate on top of his right, Automail arm, it transformed into a triangular blade.
Yep, still works.’ Edward muttered to himself as he transmuted it back to normal, looking around at the Gates, he realised that they must lead to other places, simply as each one seemed to have a different glow about them.
Well… there’s nothing else to do here.’ Edward sighed as he began heading towards one of the gates. He had a long walk ahead of him.

By the time he’d reached the gate, Edward had changed his attitude, he’d slumped forward and hung his arms down in front of him, hanging them freely so that they swayed a little as he moved. The look on his face had switched from an uninterested look to an angry and irritated glare as he stared at the gate.
You know… for something so inanimate it took me a long time to get here.’ Edward said angrily as he kicked the side of the gate – only to succeed in hurting his own foot. Edward stepped forward, through the stone gate, saying goodbye to the stark whiteness as his scenery changed. Soon enough he found himself atop a hill surrounded by stone pillars and, after looking past the stones, rolling hills that were dotted by several villages and what appeared to be a large city that had been built up a mountain.
