Thrown Into a Strange World, Forced to Start Anew
#1
All around him, there was darkness. He could not remember who he was, or where he came from. His name was Michael, as far as he could remember, and he was a human. At least... mostly? A stirring between his shoulder blades reminded him of his wings, serving as an eternal reminder that he was not truly human. However, what he was instead he was unable to recall. A strange figure stood before him, grinning as he said. "This is not the world you know." He proceeded to tell Michael more of where he was, and what awaited him. Michael listened halfheartedly, absorbing most of the information but riddled with anxiety and fear of the unknown.

Suddenly the figure faded away with the blackness, leaving in it's place a blindingly bright white expanse, with a strange hourglass towering before him. As he looked around many other people dotted the empty landscape, most all of them looking strange and foreign to this place. Although, there didn't seem like any particular norm would exist in a world devoid of anything but an hourglass and... It was then that Michael first discovered the gates, standing what must have been miles from where he now stood. They varied in what they were made out of, most likely based on, as Michael assumed, where they leaded to.

It occurred to Michael that he most likely looked rather odd simply standing in one placing and staring in curiosity at everything around him. He began to walk, wandering aimlessly but attempting to make himself seem to be moving with purpose, like most of the people here seemed to be doing. He began to look back at what that figure... Omni said to him, hoping to find out what to do next in this strange new world... He spoke of himself, Omnilium, and how there were many others like him, but none of that seemed to help in finding where he should go.

Not wanting to stress himself any more with asking someone for help or directions, Michael began walking towards the first gate he saw, the one seemingly fashioned from two palm trees intertwining at their branches. It seemed interesting enough, and from the look of it could even be a sort of tropical paradise! Nothing could possible go wrong from this decision!
