EPD Assignments

So!

Being part of the EPD is all well and good, but I feel a tad uncomfortable since I'm not sure how much I can act on 'behalf' of the Empire, presuming myself to have been given assignments by them, before I cross the line of hijacking the faction completely.

I mean, what I'm getting at is that, I would like Kopaka to do things for the EPD based on assignments given to him, but since I'm the one making those assignments up, I don't want to go too far and basically give Kopaka Empire backup for any old objective I want to complete in the Omniverse.

I realize this comes down to a trust thing, but for the sake of my anxiety I'd like to have it down on paper. For reference, and you may have already gathered this, my current storyline is having Kopaka scout out the city of Nippur and figure out the socio-political landscape in the hopes of formulating the plan for establishing and Imperial garrison there.

It's my opinion that the Empire has things locked up pretty tight at home right now, so they would be interested in shoring up their presence in their other client verses. Since making Nippur not only safe and orderly but also allied to the Empire would go a long way towards this, I feel like this would be a valid task to give to an agent like Kopaka.

But uh...lemme know. It's not like I'm expecting to have brigades of stormtroopers at my command (at least not until Forces goes live.)

The EPD, or more specifically the part made up of primes and other enlistees (contrasted to the hoards of storm troopers and space marines) is mostly used for maintaining order in Coruscant, particularly in areas where they don't want to send squadrons of storm troopers because of PR.

As mentioned in the other thread, the Empire (in regards to the Dunes) does not have interest in anything beyond Carrefore. The Dunes is an awful, terrible place that they 'left' for a valid reason years ago. They're not going to sanction you to go there on their behalf, because then a situation in some podunk place becomes a 'global' affair and starts to draw the attention of enemies without and enemies within. That isn't saying they won't give you a wink or wish you good luck. They just want to be able to prove they had zero involvement if things go south (and the same can be said for any EPD freelancers who go start stuff in other verses).

Doesn't stop you from going there of your own accord with some buddies from the EPD and trying to take the place over but don't expect a fleet of MAATs in your wake.
