"I will vouch for you."

Specialist Daniels was the average kind of person, wearing the same ragged looking fighting clothes as all the other rebels do

"A few people see you as a hero, most see you as some guy who ditched us after the big fight"

The two figures walked down the once clean and neatly kept halls of the City 24 administration building, now grimy and fairly littered, Daniels opened a door into a large open room, scraps of clothes and trash piled in the farthest corners with mattresses and sleeping bags strewn about though there were some people sleeping and apparently injured.

"This is it?"

Cobalt turned to look at Daniels, his voice sounding grim through his vocoder

"Yeah... You can stay the night, but a quick poll showed no one wants you here, we'll give you some supply but you have to be gone tomorrow."

Daniels somewhat ushered Cobalt into the room before closing the door and walking back down the hall. Cobalt stepped into the room, it was dirty, and hadn't been washed since the rebels took the city from the union. The floors were wood tile, though it was hard to tell through the clothes and sleeping bags, the walls were white wallpaper with simple designs varying from a lighter gray, and it was covered in a layer of grime. He stepped cautiously as if he were sneaking into something until a hand shot out from the corner next to the door to grasp Cobalt's armored leg, a man lay on a mattress elevated by a few stacks of books and cardboard boxes, the man looked sick, his grayish looking skin and watery green eyes didn't help his case, he looked up to Cobalt, whimpering quietly before speaking up in a weak voice

"Are you here to help us?"

These words echoed in Cobalt's mind for hours, he had never seen such an ill fate, it was almost traumatic as if it were one of his most trusted brothers on his deathbed, the words scarred him to the point where he still remembered the exact moment when he woke up in the black.

Words fell on deaf ears. The Nexus didn't bother Cobalt, and he wasn't going to be arrogant enough to pretend to understand it's reason for bringing him here, or knowing what he was going to do next, his gaze fell to the white figure that had been speaking for the past few moments, he reached out and took the orb the figure was handing him and looked at it in a dull curiosity. He looked back to the figure which was still speaking, though it was only a buzz in the back of Cobalt's head, he didn't worry, he knew it would come back to him, and if it didn't, oh well. The only thing Cobalt actually heard from the figure was

Quote:"...You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

The black was replaced with white, and the trickling of a large stone fountain, the buzzing in Cobalt's head stopped suddenly, he drew his carbine with his right hand, pointing it at the floor as he drew his knife with his left hand, detecting hostility for no apparent reason, he'd stare at the fountain for what felt like eons but was only a minute, he sighed deeply, coughing loudly in the echoing emptiness of the Nexus, he glanced around, noting the doors and the distance that lay between them whispering ever so quietly to himself

"This is where they went?"

obviously this meant nothing to anyone else, and it didn't mean anything to him. He stumbled groggily, sheathing his knife and raising a hand up to his mask, rubbing it as if he were rubbing his face after a hangover, he'd keep his blaster handy as he took a step, stumbling slightly while looking at the floor. His heart skipped a beat as he felt as if he were going to fall through the ground, suddenly realising that this white expanse had solid flooring, he started walking in a nondescript direction, grumbling quietly as though this entire situation inconvenienced him.
