Vin stopped at the outskirts of Darkshire. She eyed the cloud cover over the town, and noted that the mists had drawn away from this town, just like in the hub area with the fountain. "What in Preservation has this world done to deserve his disdain?" she thought, crouching down and feeling the dirt in her hands. She kept her tin on a low burn to keep herself alert, and the motes of dust felt coarse in her hand.
"Maybe I can find some metals somewhere in there."
She thought, feeling for the file at her waist, when she couldn't feel it, she cursed.
"That's just going to make this even more difficult, did I just lose everything useful when I was taken?"
Realizing that she had no way of replenishing her metals, probably even tin, she extinguished it, and continued on with normal human senses. She needed the mists, it was the only place she felt a true belonging, and yet, without steel to fly through them, what would even be the point. Why search them out if she couldn't even flit around like her first nights learning of her power.
"Steel or pewter" she wondered. "Steel, and I can feel alive, pewter, and I can fight properly."

Chara sighed with a frown. It was Asriel that had insisted they walk to this spooky-looking place in the outskirts of Darkshire. It looked like the place 'for an adventure.'. Chara didn't disagree, of course - that was the problem! Asriel was definitely talented for his age in terms of magic, and that had only faded slightly once they had joined the Omniverse. But Asriel was still - well, still Naive. It was an adorable quality, but it made him ripe for the picking by any of the horrors that Chara knew existed around here. While Asriel was having the time of his life, and he knew that for now, he couldn't convince his little brother to get out of here, it didn't prevent Chara from jumping at half the shadows around Asriel, a hidden knife ready for the moment that Asriel might need her to pull it out.
So when they saw Asriel's eyes flare with excitement, and saw him bound off before they could get in a word to stop them, Chara's brain went into 'danger' mode... just for a moment.
"Mwahahaha!" A boyish voice yelled out, landing in front of the woman. "Greetings, human! Know that you have now met the ultimate god of hyper-death! And that if you want to bring harm to this place, I, Asriel, will... um. Knock you down! Hard!"
Chara's magic worked before her mind did, and the familiar lines and other programming she'd now become trained to see came up in front of her, invisible to those around them. She immediately found her positioning in the omniverse, the data-line that defined Chara as "standing here", and changed a few numbers, altering her to right in front of her little brother. Of course, to whoever now stood in front of their brother, this wasn't visible. It would simply seem like in an instant, where there once was nothing, now stood a small child in a green jacket.
The woman was human, like most of this frustrating omniverse, and from the sounds of it, might have even been a mage. That, or just an addict. Chara couldn't say either made her feel less cautious. Nonetheless, she forced a smile.

"Greetings. I am Chara. And this over here is Rei."
"Charaaaa!" Asriel squeaked, and they had to put a hand over her face to suppress a grin.
"A-hem! My name is ac-tu-a-lly-" Asriel interrupted, before giving a firm look at his chuckling sibling. "Asriel dreemurr, ultimate deity, defender of all monsters ever everywhere!"
"We are travellers, looking to find some adventure within this land." Chara added with a smirk, putting their hands in their pockets. "Are you, perhaps, doing the same? Rei and I wouldn't mind a travelling partner in a place like this."

(This post was last modified: 07-08-2017, 10:02 PM by Vin Venture.)
A small goat-like child ran up to Vin, shouting about some god of this world, probably the one that dragged her here in the first place. This was followed by a threat, though it was difficult to take seriously.
“Be harmless enough to be ignored” she heard, Reen, her deceased brother and tormentor speaking in her head.
“Or be so dangerous they’re terrified.” She stood calmly and forced the thought away, as she did whenever she heard it. She burned tin, just in case, her senses improving to the point that under the dark sky, it was as bright to her as daylight, and the wind howled in her ears. She tuned out what she didn't need "It's about what you can ignore with tin, not what you see." Came spook's voice, the one who had trained her to use tin. Then a child popped into view in front of her.
“Clearly magic isn’t rare in this world.”
Quote:"Greetings. I am Chara. And this over here is Rei."
A tumbleweed blew by, rolling across the plains and leaving little puffs of dust in its wake.
Quote:"Charaaaa!" Asriel squeaked, and they had to put a hand over her face to suppress a grin.
“What are you doing here anyway?” she asked. “I’m just here to try and get back to what I’m used to, but there is no black ash falling from the sky. The plants here are wrong, and the sun here is yellow.”
Vin kept on moving towards the city walls,
“This place reminds me of Luthadel. I think it’s the most normal here.”
She turned around to look at the two children. “Coming?”

Chara shrugged as the woman looked away, towards the city walls. For now, it seemed this lady knew at least a little bit about what she was doing. She also seemed to know of magic, given her earlier comment. As far as a potential third party on their walk to the city, nodding as Asriel strode forward, "taking point" as it was called.
"I appreciate you accompanying us to the city. There is safety in numbers, and these lands are full of hostility." Chara stated. "You would be one of the new primes, those chosen by Omni." Chara stated with a smile. The woman gave him a short glance, and Chara continued, forcing his own forward. "Me and Rei are what are known as secondaries. Similarly to you, we come from a very different world - one that had not seen any sun in hundreds of years." Chara added. "Unlike yourself, please keep in mind..."
Chara took a breath before continuing, aware that if this was the wrong sort of person, he might just have to see exactly how much of his power still remained - and if it would be enough to deal with the human in front of him before it followed the natural instincts hidden within every man.
"Secondaries are fragile things. We are not summoned by Omni himself, and therefore, not bound to revive upon our murder. Please keep that in mind."

“What kind of hell is this, that I should die and not be allowed my end?” Vin whispered, forgetting she was not among fellow mistings. Usually a misting could hear far better than a normal human, and whispering amongst each other was a common way of communicating. “You’ve been brought here, against your will?” Remaining wary, vin continued to burn the tin that lay nestled in her stomach. The tiny amount she had could probably burn for several hours non-stop. It would be a constant alert of all her senses, and despite the seeming friendliness of these ‘secondaries’ as they called themselves, she would need to be ready for anything in this new world.
“Let’s go.” she said, as she began moving toward the wall. Instinctively she reached for her coin pouch, and before she noticed it was missing, her hand had already made the motion to throw a coin onto the ground and she began attempting to push herself off of it and into the air. One of the many abilities of a mistborn is the ability to push onto metals by burning steel, naturally flying was common among them, and coins were a small price to pay for the freedom of flight. Unfortunately, she had no coin pouch, as with many things it seemed to have disappeared on her transference to this world. “So getting around is going to be a lot slower as well then.”
In a few minutes they had arrived at the guarded gates of the city. “My name is Vin Venture, I am a Primary, are you Secondaries?” she said to the guards “I request entrance to this city.”

The darkshire garrison at the east gates was a grim-looking bunch. The chainmail they wore had marks of dirt and wear, and their spears looked to have been recently used, judging by the occasional hint of red atop them. "...A new prime, huh?" One of them finally stated, stepping forward. "Corporal Larris. We'd prefer to just be called 'people', but... ya say you're a prime, huh?" The man asked. "Just make sure you don't cause trouble here. We get a lot of you primes 'round here, and not all of 'em are friendly. After the recent attacks, more than a few of the guards are a little easy to draw a blade or a flintlock, so... Make sure ya don't give 'em good reason to, y'hear. Other than that, you're free to-"
Larris's speech was cut off by a group of guards's sudden movements, all centered around the young Asriel. "Hey, look at this. Looks sort of like a little... goatperson, doesn't he? " One of the guards stated.
"Goats are a symbol o' satan where I'm from. Think 'e's evil?" another one asked.
"One of yer kind belongs over in ambrosia. What are ya doin' near darkshire?"
"Maybe he's one of Illidan's hellspawn. I don't think we should let him in-"
Chara pushed past the guards, as they made a circle around Asriel. Their heart-rate was elevated. Their pulse was pounding. The faintest echoes of magic wisped around them. For a brief moment, it was all the adopted Dreemurr could do not to reach for the knife hidden under his clothes.
But doing something like that would not save their brother under these circumstances, not with this many guards, and they knew Asriel would not be willing to forgive him easily for it. No, these filth were not worth it.
"Greetings, perhaps we should introduce ourselves to you gentlemen. I am Chara Dreemurr. This is my brother, Asriel." Chara stated calmly. "Forgive us for appearing so suddenly, but despite our appearances... we're just a couple of kids, looking for a place to spend the night. We ask that you let us through."
The guards looked at each other for a moment, then dispersed, and Chara's body finally, visibly, relaxed, as he let the flows of magic vanish back into the ether. This place might be more stressful on him than Asriel, after all - a cloistered place, full of all of the intolerant humans he'd grown to know and meet. Looking over to miss Venture, they noticed that the allomancer was staring intently at him. Had they caught the slip? One part of them was hopeful that whatever else, Vin at least understood the need to protect a sibling... but then, Vin was a human, and humans might not see such an urge as natural.
"fine, all of you can go through. Just don't cause any trouble, alright?" Larris added, rubbing at the bridge of his nose.

Going through the terms in her head, she realized something about primes and secondaries. They were the equivalent in this world of nobility and skaa, high born, and low born, and Vin was no noble. As the guards surrounded the child she fought her reflex to reach for one of them and throw them to the ground. She resisted the burning urge to demand they back away, but she didn’t know who she should trust. “Everyone will leave you, everyone will betray you in the end, let nobody close.” Reen insisted in the back of her head. Just in case, she flared her tin and kept it that way until the exchange was over, waiting to see how it would resolve.
When the slight altercation had ended she walked with her acquaintances through the gates of the city, a dark, nostalgic city greeting her. “If what I understand is correct, secondaries are trodden on here, I did not expect to become one of the nobility upon my transference here.” she said to Chara. “What is expected of me here? Going to house balls, or taking part in house conflicts?”
“I need to find steel, or pewter, a file, and coins, and a glass dagger, and… There is a lot that I am missing.” she said, glad to still at least be wearing her mistcloak. “I am glad for the training I’ve done without my metals, without it I may have been weak and frail here, luckily I am not.”
Cobblestones passed underfoot as they walked through the streets, “This world wasn’t prepared for me, how have you found it, strange mancer?” she nodded to Chara.

"Secondaries are trodden upon...?" Chara asked with a bit of a smile. "...It's complex. A lot of people do treat primes as special, but a lot of it seems to come down to the fact that most are afraid of what they'll do if they don't. Quite a few are bloodthirsty psychopaths. Many others believe themselves above law and order and will do as they please. As primes are a problem that doesn't go away so easily, secondaries are willing to give some lee-way. And since primes may manipulate omnilium, summoning practically anything with just a moment's thought, many of them are considered powerful indeed. However... no one expects anything from you, at least in terms of loyalty." Chara states. "...To a degree. You will find it difficult to be a prime in coruscant without swearing loyalty to the empire, for instance. And many would wish to cooperate with you in some fashion or another to advance their own cause." Chara adds.
Taking a small breath as they continued to walk down the cobblestone streets, Chara made a gesture to the fractured wall nearby, and the men and women working on repairs to the nearby wall section. "This place was attacked by a fierce army recently, led by a trio of primes. They seemed to have no other reason than simple bloodlust to do so, and yet they caused considerable damage to this town. as this is not uncommon... Primes get an automatic measure of respect. Until you prove yourself, however, this will not extend to trust, by any means." Chara added.
"Wow, Chara! Look at all these houses!" Asriel exclaimed, looking around and pointing at every sign. "Oh, can we go see if they have ice cream here, Chara!" The short goat interrupted, skipping along the street.
Chara turned with a warm smile. "Rei... they probably do not have ice cream here. Candy apples, on the other hand... I think I see a stand over there." the young magician pointed a finger towards a nearby stall along the street, and Asriel went running after it.
"...Even here, old problems exist, though. It seems most beings that end up here are human. Nonhumans, like my brother... are distrusted, for one reason or another."
Chara put their hands behind their head and stretched, noticing a questioning look enter Vin's face. "I hadn't forgot about your other question. This world is... hostile, at least within this area. I would rather be elsewhere, but Rei... he wanted to explore the pale moors, as this place is called. And it's hard for me to say no to him, especially when he's this happy."
Chara gave a short smile. "Most primes that come here are weakened, with a small fraction of their abilities. It appears to be Omni's will... it is likely he deprived you of such materials for a reason, and if you can use them to create your brand of magic..." Chara's eyes grew red, briefly, at the statement, "then, likely, it will be far more difficult to use such abilities until you gain some more omnilium... There is no reasoning, to my understanding, of how a prime gains such, but all primes do... generate it? Accumulate it? Are granted it?...No one really knows the how." Chara finally admitted with a shrug, leaning forward. "One of the few advantages of being a secondary is that this weakening is less apparent. Unlike a prime, however, we cannot gain power so quickly. We cannot generate or use omnilium. It is one of the reasons primes are the focus of this place." Chara added.
"And I am no Mancer, Human." The young child added with a smile. "My name is just Chara Dreemurr. Just as you are Vin Venture, correct?"

Vin let a small, if repressed smile cross her face for a moment as she noticed Asriel’s joy at seeing a place that looked so much like her own home. The Pale Moors were by far a bright sight compared to the city capital of Luthadel. Her own home was the streets, or it was until less than a year before. She had managed to scrape by, thinking her strange powers to be luck, always having enough from traces of pewter from a mug, or powdered dust mixing in with her food happening to contain a few shavings of brass. She didn’t know how to use her allomancy until Kelsier had saved her from her thieving crew. Until he died not long ago, she had begun losing her natural distrust, and finally felt she had a family again.
“And now I’m here” she breathed, not intending to be heard, in that way someone with tin enhanced ears speaks to themselves.
At the mention of candy apples Vin just looked curious, “some kind of, food?” she asked Chara. “We have something called apple where I’m from, but what’s candy?”
The only time she had tasted an apple was when she managed to steal the mostly eaten core of one that a highborn had discarded into the street, it was one of the sweetest things she had ever eaten. Fruit weren’t allowed to the skaa, only colourless slop, the nobility were the ones who would get the food of the skaa slave plantations.
“Sorry if I’m so distant, I uhh, also appear to have no money, and my life as a thief has long since ended.” Her stomach felt very empty, she knew she hadn’t eaten in a while. Usually burning pewter could abate things like the need for sleep or food, it was only another argument in her mind.
“Where could I earn money here?” As she asked, her mind came to yet another terrible realization, in the Final Empire allomantic metals were made very specifically, an alloy so much as 1% off would make her sick instead of powerful. She doubted metals were so strictly graded here, why would they be? She would probably have to summon her metals using this...
“Omnillium? Is that what you called it? Do you think I could use that to summon metals?”
Vin looked over her shoulder, suddenly realizing just how different this world was.
“These primes who attacked Darkshire here, who were they? Can we help fix the damage that was done? Will they come back?” If they came back, would she even be able to help without her metals, these Primes sounded like they were each as powerful as a mistborn in the night.
“You say that you are no Mancer and yet I saw you appear in front of me, I do not know of anything that is not magical that can allow that.” she stated, raising one eyebrow.

Chara smiled as soon as they heard Vin's stomach rumble. It seemed the human was human in that respect for well. "Omnilium is currency here." Chara stated with a smile. "Simply summon a little to your hand - it should come naturally to you. Most things that you can buy cost just a little. It is the currency in every area of this world."
The young mage raised a little smile, though. It was a little surprising to see the woman show weakness such as that after their first meeting. Initially, Vin was very closed off and stoic, determined not to show vulnerability. She seemed to be coming to trust Chara enough to show herself just a little bit. Chara's smile faded as they thought about who they were dealing with, though, as she asked her next question.
"Perhaps? How would I know?" The young Dreemurr answered. Like all humans, she was still worried about the accumulation of her power. It could be just a matter of time before her LV sparked to dangerous levels, before she found the strength to play with their lives like so many others had... Chara might have given away too much information as it is, to an enemy she might have to face one day. They wouldn't make the same mistake they made with Frisk. They'd keep on guard.
As Vin asked about the primes attacking Darkshire, though, Chara shrugged and put up a hand. "I am just a kid. You would have to ask someone a bit more knowledgeable about that. I might know their names, but you can find out the details on the bounty list." They added. "As for my... uhh, mancy..." Chara added. "Like I said, I am no mancer. I simply have a few abilities I have learned. Where I am from, they would have called me a mage." Chara finally admitted. "here, such things are common, and often without the use of any magic at all. Primes and secondaries alike come from many worlds here. Some have powers you couldn't imagine." Chara added, focusing on keeping themselves calm. This human dug at him, though they had to admit that it had more to do with their race than their actions so far. Still, the actions of a human were quite able to change on a dime... he saw a frown appear on Vin's face, as though the woman was deep in thought, and Chara had to admit that at least this one was not nearly so good at concealing their intentions, though.
Chara's smile reappeared, though there was a little less friendliness to it. The human had a chance, but she would be judged, and if Chara found her lacking...
Well, that was then.

The damp air clung unnaturally to Vin's slight frame. Her head bobbed occasionally in acknowledgement as her new acquaintance responded to her musings. Thousands of people had died for nothing and yet here she was, trying to regain her wealth of power, her birthright. She began to truly take in her surroundings. The somewhat familiar architecture of Darkshire was of little comfort to her, as the dark skies coupled with a lack of mist unnerved her. The backdrop of cracked fortifications around the keep in the centre of the city was a reminder of what had happened here, and of the foes she would have to face during her time here.
She continued her scanning as a question casually fell from her. "What have you done to help these people, Chara?"
For the first time, her face, trained from birth in the hard streets in the shadow of Kredik Shaw by the deadliest of thieves and most perceptive steel inquisitors, showed a glimmer of emotion. Not just one however, her face showed a scant mix between anger and remorse.
A small tower in the distance, something she had overlooked at first, had an odd motion atop it. All at once, she had flared her tin, just in time to have her ears pierced by the shrieking cry of the strange creature. Though the sound was painfully loud only to her, she knew that the others would hear it, and as if summoned, there were a dozen similar looking winged creatures shrieking and flying toward them.
Not even waiting for the shriek to finish, she had set her tin to a low simmer, and turned to her new accomplices with a strong glance, and ran toward her quarry.

Chara shrugged. "I have not really been here for all that long. There is little one child can do to help the people of Darkshire." Chara stated. "it is an interesting town, but it is not mine." Chara responded. Of course... that was only somewhat true. Quite honestly, she just wasn't inclined to help these ones out. Not after the way they'd treated Asriel, and not after seeing just how many humans inhabited the area. As much as she was enjoying Vin's conversation and protection, she hadn't truly forgotten what sort of creature she was dealing with. After all, the Mirror had also appeared kind, had spoken to her with fondness and friendliness, had made her feel comfortable enough to even share their darkest secrets...
And then, after she'd began to bore the human, Chara was given the wonderful gift of watching her friends, the monsters, die all around them.
Chara realized that a scowl had started to fall on her features, and she put a hand on her head. "My apologies. I got lost in thought." they stated with a simple smile. sorting a few different lines of code, they found the rating, clear as day: LV 5.
Yes, this one had the potential to be something ultimately ruinous. Chara wasn't about to take their eye off them.
or rather, Chara was immediately going to take their eye off them, as a group of winged creatures popped out of the area. what's more... The data she gleaned from their looks indicated that, despite their monstrous appearances.... they were humans, somehow.
Vampires, perhaps, but warped in a fashion Chara had never seen before. Humans that deigned to feed on other humans. It was no surprise when she finally read their LV, however.
19. All of them. Dangerous creatures... and Chara's job.
"Asriel... help everyone get to safety." Chara stated with a monotone voice.
"But I can help-"
Chara vanished before Asriel could say another word, and quickly reappeared in the middle of the Wailing creatures. All of them immediately turned around, ready to rip Chara to shreds.
The last time Chara had met beings at this LV, they had no options but to convince the human to turn back. Here? There were no infinite respawns to be seen.
A demonic grin appeared on the Child's face, as she held her hands out wide. A row of Crimson knives manifested around her.
The Humans in the form of giant bats roared their challenge, and Chara's response was to cock his head.
"How curious. I have not heard so many dead men talking at once before."
With that statement, Each of the bat-creatures was pelted by a hail of knives. One was knocked to the ground by the display, but the rest charged Chara's fragile position on the rooftops.
The first bat-creature Jumped straight for Chara's chest, and Chara's dodge was slow enough that it actually managed to tap their jacket before she struck back with her far more physical, and damaging, weapon. Chara's motion became a blur of teleportation and pure speed as she Struck with an onslaught of blows from every angle, her kitchen knife ripping chunks out of the howling demon's flesh.
And for those who paid attention, Chara's own laughter could be dimly heard above the Vampire's screams of pain and frustration.

Not as a tempest, but as a river, Vin flowed into the fray, ducking low and ripping a loose rock from the cobbles around them. Two claws swiped at her one after another, she narrowly avoided the first, and barely redirected the second using the rock as a buffer before she put all of the weight within her light frame into an unfortunately powerless strike into the jaw of a vargheist. Fortunately, the rock in her hand gave it the force to temporarily stun it, and she capitalized by enter a pattern that her former master had taught her. Unsupported by the enhanced muscles and power that pewter would give, and unaided by the near mystical powers of steel and iron, she flared her tin, and was immediately hyper aware of her foes. Burning it this quickly was nothing compared to the future sight powers of atium, but it was as close as one could get with mere "normal metals".
Swinging the rock back around into the back of another head she dodged another swipe and grabbed the fleshy arm before rolling over the creature's back and dislocating it. In the same swift action, she had used it's own sharp claw to decapitate another foe. Before another could react, she had snapped it's neck so thoroughly that its head hung loosely staring entirely behind it, and she stood ready by her current ally.
"Is this common here?" she asked.

Chara's grin was noticeably unnatural as she turned to stare at Vin. "Here? In the omniverse?" Chara asked with a sweet smile. "Of course. With so many humans living here, bound by different creeds and philosophies... with this many different humans disagreeing, it is only natural to see them indulge themselves in violence given half the chance." they responded.
throwing up her knife with a playful smirk, Chara disappeared from view. a second later, she reappeared in the air behind one of the vargheist's. A roar of challenge blew through the air towards Chara, and the sheer force of the cacophony sent Chara hurtling backwards through the air. Her smile didn't waver, however - instead, she made a quick pointing motion, towards where her knife hung in the air. The metal blade sang through the air and impaled itself into the creature's stomach, and the Vargheist's bellow was cut off in a shattered squeak as it fell through the air, it's wings seizing from the shock.
Chara landed with smooth grace their descent slowing the closer they got to the ground. their shoes tapped the ground lightly as they touched the ground. The Vargheist wasted no time in charging the young mage, it's misshapen limbs crawling across the street with a feral hunger.
Chara didn't bother to get out of the way, and instead stared at the creature with a grin. They waited until the creature was close enough for it's eerily cold breath to leave ice on their face to act, their eyes glowing with a brilliant red as the Vargheiststopped mid-swing.
The beast howled in frustration, but other than it's mouth, it's body refused to move, seemingly paralyzed.
"Silly thing. Do you not know?"
Chara removed the knife from the Creature's chest with a wide grin, as it stood paralyzed, trying to feed on her. Were it to attempt to avoid or block, it would have found its body able to move, but maddened as it was, it could not find the ability to do anything but to mindlessly follow it's hunger against her.
"You can not attack me when it is my turn."
Chara went for a wide swing, and the knife cut through their opponent with a burst of red energy. The vargheist's body broke down and dissolved, until only a pile of dust lay at Chara's feet.
"That's one more down..."
Chara tried to ignore the statement ringing in the back of their mind.
It had been a long time since the last moment their LV had increased.
It was far easier to instead listen to the cries of the darkshire guard, as a hail of arrows was loosed on the vargheist incursion.
"So, the cavalry is here... they certainly took their time."

With arrows now entering into the battlefield, Vin found her senses overwhelmed. The arrows flew past her and into the creatures as she twisted her lithe body out of the way of the whistling projectiles. The air around her was like a restricting miasma as she slid under the powerful blow of a vampire. She brought her hands up in time to catch the wrist of another, arrows protruding from it's fur patched flesh and blood spattered across it's vicious snarl of a face. There was a disgusting wrench of a crack as she put her momentum into her attacker's arm and tore it out of the elbow with a wet sliding sound akin to a boot slipping on a muddy field.
Another swing nearly took her head off as she whipped around with the improvised weapon and cut down the fool who had taken the swipe at her. It's head came off, spraying a short spurt of blood out that steamed in the cold air, and then there was only a single creature left.
Vin screamed at the creature, she held the sagging limb like a halberd and charged, handily skirting over one of the corpses she dodged to the side, out of the way of a desperate chop that she heard whoosh past her, and with a thrust she had stuck her appendage weapon through it's neck. The beast squirmed and choked while making horrid snarling noises before it slowly fell on top of another one of the creatures, a corpse on top of another.

Chara sighed, as the last of the hideous abominations fell to the guards of darkshire. "I do not know what the purpose of this raid was." Chara stated with a soft smile. "...but I believe the guard has it handled adequately, Miss Venture." The young mage stated from behind the new prime, with a small smile. The older Dreemurr sibling opened their mouth to add something else to the comment, but was cut off when the sudden feeling of their legs turning to jelly caused them to drop like a sack of potatoes, falling off their feet. With the danger gone, Chara's adrenaline passed, and their concentration at last wavering, the full effects of the abilities they had just abused came down hard upon them. To their surprise, they felt surprisingly strong, thin arms stop them from dropping completely. Before the exhausted mage had time to fall over from their blatant over-use of magic, the human had caught her mid-fall.
A less mature part of them initially reacted with immature hostility... but Chara had been the older dreemurr for too long to actually allow that to surface. instead, after a second, they responded just the way mom had taught them: Politely. "Thank you. I suppose I used a little more magic than I should have in that battle."
