So I'm naturally nosey, and curious, about how everyone came to writing. I like hearing stories like this cause it help you understand not only why someone writes the way they do, it also allows us to see why they connect with their writing so much. I'll go first.

I started 'writing' in High School. I wasn't much of an avid reader because Im severly attention deficit, but writing was a different story to me.(No pun intended) I started out with Roleplaying with one of my friends which led into what felt like a novel of epic proportions to me at the time. We crossed dimensions, time and space alike, went through dreams and death together, and it was that time I realized the magisty of writing. I enveloped myself within a world I could not reach and became something I could only be in my wildest dreams. I got serious with writing in my Junior year when I started writing about my fictional realm of Xenithia and wrote some short stories that I kept completely personal. Now Im here trying to entertain you guys with my horrid writing, which I long to gain acceptance that I have never felt in my whole life.

I started RPing there in the Teen Titans board when I was a kid.

After that though, I moved onto a .hack MSN group, then fell out of it. Got back into it with Twitter, and now here I am!

Hm! Writing/Roleplay started a long while ago with my introduction to Garrys Mod, *puts on oldman look* LONG BEFORE IT BECAME POPULAR WITH THEM YOUTUBE STARS *grumble grumble*

I specifically started roleplaying on Garrys Mod servers designated as 'DarkRP', and despite spending half a decade playing GarrysMod I still don't understand why its called Dark. ANYWHO that style of RP was gameplay over actual character, so I didn't really RP, it was just designated jobs and roles that you'd try to maintain. This lasted for some amount of time, my English grammar taking some good leaps that I actually risked trying to go for more serious versions of GarrysMod RP. See, Garrys Mod serious RP is different from DarkRP in that its...'Serious', and having a combination of the gameplay and using chat to post complex actions or when people start to do crazy shit, you also had to give your characters personality and appearances. I'd say "SERIOUS RP NOWADAYS IS NUFIN' LIKE HOW IT WAS IN THE PAST", but I know I'm just being stubborn, nostalgic asshole.

At the time, there were two versions of 'serious RP' HL2RP- which is passive as fuck -or Starship Troopers RP (SSTRP), which was the more action orientated kind. While the only server that had it wasn't really that serious, it was good enough that I began to improve in actually making a character. I cannot state how important SSTRP was for me honestly, without it I would've never gotten so heavily invested in making weak-ass characters and progressing with them over time. I mean, when I first started I didn't progress at all; if you sucked at RP, you just didn't get anywhere. But a stubborn little depressed shit like myself didn't really take "No" for an answer, SO I HAD TO IMPROVE. Over time more Serious RP servers popped up, which weren't only SSTRP- but also some that took a modern spin.

Garrys Mod itself changed however, it changed a lot. The better I got with time the less interested I became, and I just straight up quit after awhile. I did try again with a friend a few months ago, but from my experience people use mics and pretty much stopped the /me /it business, undoubtedly ending the fun for me.

While in the midst of Garrys mod dying however, I met a very important community

THE ALFA LEGION

(This community is also the reason why I have a half-obsession for Okor and Tartaros. REMINDS ME OF THE OLD DAYS *Sniffles loudly*)

I joined the group somewhere around 1000 members. The Alfa Legion had many things for me, taught me a lot of lessons and showed me how to create quality content. I was one of the first to create a forum account when we got it running, and I even remember when we had to change website! Oh man that was weird and annoying as hell.

Out of some weird combination of respect and paranoia, I'm not really going to mention much more on this- the people who I met there are still out and about for sure, and I'd do a disservice speaking without their permission. And the website/boards still exist for the Alfa Legion, but they're...much, much different then how it was when I roleplayed there. Oh well! Times change, things get more weird and friends disappear off into the internet horizon.

However, Scout Sergeant Lmpwrkr will always hold the line! Even when everything familiar fades away *quiet sobbing*

After the Alfa Legion hit 3000 members I quit. Don't remember why, though I know I tried to come back numerous times, only to be dissatisfied. Eventually I drifted on the internet, went from forum to forum, met some cool people and someone who inspired me to do traditional arts. Kept drifting until I found Omniverse. Disappeared because depression and friends, then came back. Now I'm rusty and my english vocabulary is drifting from my memory, causing me to REPETITIVE AS HRGHFHDFJ 

Also since I left the Alfa Legion, there has been this specific hole in my heart that remained empty until I came back here. I'm really happy I just happened to stumble upon you guys I hope you feel the same way, and if not, I'm always willing to improve!  

Bonus info! There is also chat RP which was something I did for a long ass time, but it was low quality, still fun as fuck tho'

I'm a bit of a literature devourer. From a young age I was able to read at great speed, so I grew up on all sorts of novels of varying complexities and genres.

This means that come secondary school, I was a very well read person who had excelled in creative writing and academic performance, and this translated very well when a friend of mine introduced me to a warhammer faction forum on the basis of the RP forum.

After a few years I had participated in multiple rps, but the pace was too slow and I ended up supplementing it with a turn-based forum nation war game. That led into two other nation building games I am still participating in. In addition I also began reading plentiful fanfiction (and trying my hand at a little myself) as well as getting involved from time to time with Improbable Island, an online half text-based combat game half real-time rp forum.

After all of these had started to stall and drag on, I looked around for something fast paced and that would allow me to combine fanfiction, original rp and fast-pace. The first result from "Crossover RP Forum" was the Omniverse, and I liked what I saw.
