A Ghastly Idea
#1
Let's say I want to make a ghost character in the Omniverse.  Ghosts normally do not interact with other entities in the real world, so in order to simulate this...

If a ghost has a high defense, let's say 5, then attacks will generally go through it UNLESS it does damage, in which case it hits it like any normal prime.  A weak attack from someone with Atk = 1 will go through it, but a slice of a sword from an enemy with Atk = 5 will slice it like a normal person.

Weak attack + Your Def is 5 + Their Atk is 1 = They phase through you
Average sword slice + Your Def is 5 + Their Atk is 5 = Ghost gets cut

Similarly, if the attack barely does squat, the ghost just kinda phases through the enemy.  The same example applies, but replace the enemy with the ghost and vice versa.

Weak attack + Their Def is 5 + Your Atk is 1 = You phase through them
Average attack + Their Def is 5 + Your Atk is 5 = They get hurt

Would this be applicable or would it violate the basic laws of the Omniverse?  It still allows people to do damage in the same way it would hurt a guy with armor, but instead of stopping on or bouncing off the armor, it just goes through them instead.

(also sorry for all the questions I just like asking off-the-wall questions spontaneously)

This sounds like a great idea honestly, but sadly Omniverse stats don't work like that. Let me explain:

Even someone with 5 DEF is not "immune" to the attacks of less powerful opponents, even if they have 0 ATK - just like a suit of armor does not make you invincible. High DEF vs low ATK simply means that the attacker will do less damage, not that all their attacks will bounce off, leaving the defender unscratched. It's more of a "how effective will this attack be?" rather than a "will this attack do anything at all?" question.

A ghost character that is left unharmed by any attacks except for either very powerful Primes or those using attacks with big drawbacks to add to their damage would be invincible if it encounters someone who has neither of the above. It might also result in players desperately trying to find a way to harm your character so they have a chance to win, which will lead to arguments.

Similarly for your ATK stat, the "ghost" system of attacks passing through opponents with high defense could be easily played against by giving your character a very high ATK stat, allowing you to hit most Primes that don't have 4-5 DEF. Coupled with the high DEF stat and possibly a few stat upgrades your character could be extremely hard to take down and at the same time is very threatening.

In an example confrontation, a character with 3-2-2-3 stats vs your 5-5-0-0 ghost. 3 ATK would mean that they need an attack with high drawbacks (say, a long charge-up) to be able to land any hits. Simultaneously, their 2 DEF will not be enough to let even your basic attacks pass through. They would thus need to risk a lot to hit you while you can consistently land attacks.

Kind of a long explanation, I know, but I hope I made it understandable.

One solution (this is only my personal ideas, not a guarantee that you'll get it approved if you try it) could be to have a "ghostly" character which can be harmed by physical attacks, but only takes reduced damage (imagine bullets ripping out small chunks of ectoplasm where they hit) and using attacks with a self-imposed limitation, which says that they may harmlessly pass through an opponent in certain situations.
You could also try high SPD coupled with the Phasing power which would allow your character to become ghostly for a short time, letting attacks pass through.

Hope this helps!
