A god, a demon and a zombie walk into a tavern....
#1
Red Hood appeared on the other side of the gate guns drawn ready to fight once more. Scaning in a circle he saw no one, just an empty forest. For the first time in hours Red Hood relaxed. He holstered his gun and fell to his knees, overcoming with exhaustion. Breathing hard he reached up and took off his helmet feeling fresh air on his face for the first time in the Omniverse. Red had a smaller mask over his eyes, the mask he had worn when he went by the guise of Robin. Some habits die hard. Feeling the little piece of leather was a reminder of why he returned to Gotham. Revenge. But that far fetched and childish plan seemed farther away now that he was in the Omniverse. He couldn't help but miss Gotham, despite how much it sucked, it was home. Red's hair was drenched and sticking to his forehead as he nealt there enjoying the breeze on his face and the smell of fresh air as he waited for his friends to come through the gate.

A storm trooper burst through the shimmering portal to crash onto the green grass of the open field in front of it. The storm trooper did not get up. Thor emerged from the gate. "The kid should be coming through soon. So this is Omni's idea of Camelot?" Thor looked around at the empty field with its occasional group of trees and the road leading from the gate to somewhere unseen in the distance. "Should we follow the road then?"

Putting his helmet back on his sweaty head Red stood. Red looked down the path way and in the far off distance was a castle of some sort. Nothing else seemed to be near from where he could see. Red turned to his mighty friend " Yes from here that seems to be the only civilization for miles. We will wait on the kid then we will head for the castle over there" Red said pointing off in the distance

Thor looked to where his friend pointed. Thor could just barely make it out. A massive castle and town, build into the side of a mountain in the distance. He had taken it for granted that it was just a mountain but if you looked closely you could make out the obviously unnatural designs that had been cut into it. That was not what he had expected camelot to look like, but in Valhalla... no, what had the strange being called it? The Omniverse? In the Omniverse anything was possible. "Very well we will wait for him here."

The Camelot gate didn't react as negatively to Koal as the other gates he had come into contact with. This one almost seemed welcoming, it didn't leave Koal with as sense of foreboding and danger as the rest of them had all the other times. He felt warm and his pain washed away as he passed through the doorway. Thor and Red were talking, but Koal was too far away to make out what they were saying. He staggered onto the soft green grass that populated the field. His blood dripped onto the green pigment, staining them a dark red.

"Guys-" His speech was cut off by a violent bout of coughing, more red liquid staining the grass, "I-I...need some help get-getting up" But the two figures didn't hear him. They were too involved in their survey of the area to notice Koal's pleas for help.

"You seem to attract the worst kinds of danger." A feminine voice sounded next to Koal's ear, startling the young adult. His violet eyes cut to the side and beheld the figure next to him.

Leah, his protector, was kneeling next to him, her dark hair pulled back into a ponytail, and her black wings folded neatly on her back. A sly smile was plastered on her face as the angel beheld Koal. "You need to find somewhere safe, and stay there, you idiot." Despite her words, Koal could read Leah like an open book, her eyes were soft as she regarded him, and her posture was tense as if she had been worrying. Leah stood up and offered her hand to her ward, which Koal gratefully accepted.

"I would somehow find a way to get hurt there, too." Koal whispered back, just loud enough for Leah to hear. Her golden eyes narrowed as she slung on of his arms over her shoulder, as to help him walk to his two companions. Koal tried to stop her, but Leah would not be denied this opportunity to take her anger out on these people. "Hey, asshats! Need a little help here, this idiot weighs a ton!" Koal raised an eyebrow and scowled at these words. He wasn't THAT heavy, was he? The dark haired youth shook his head, focusing his thoughts on the task at hand.

"You guys know where we're going?"

Red took a step back noticing the girl who had appeared out of no where. "Where the hell did you cone from?" Red said shocked preparing to pull out his gun. He saw that the girl was trying to help the bloody youth from the ground do for now she must be an ally. Red rushed over picking the boy up from the ground. The kid coughed up a glob of blood on the grass as he lifted him up. " kid do you have of those orb things?" Red said looking at the barely concious teen. Red motioned to Thor to start following them as they made their way down the pathway.

Thor looked at the woman carrying his new companion. She was not as tall as the youth, but she carried herself with a confidence he could respect. He did wonder how she had gotten there without him and Red noticed. Then he saw the wings. Did she fly in or was she summoned, and why was she helping Koal? Thor waved. "You there! Bring him over here!" He motioned for them to step out of the ring of stones and come over to them. As long as she helped she was a friend. That was when the arrow flew. From the clumps of trees near them an arrow struck Thor in the arm.
"By Odin's beard!" Thor spun toward the shot. "Do I look like a bale of hay!" Thor did not notice the note on the arrow sticking in his armor. No other arrows came. A figure in a green cloak ran from a copse of trees in the distance. He was moving faster than Thor could hope to catch.

Still carrying the youth Red saw the arrow fly from the darkness of the trees and lodge itself in Thor. A note was stuck to the arrow. Red laughed as Thor spun around searching for the the origin of the arrow."Hey Thor, there's a note attached to that arrow in you" Red yelled at the warrior who still angrily searched for the culprit. Red placed the teen up aganist a tree. Even though he was relatively light in Red's exsaustive state he might as well me carrying a bag of bricks. Still unsure of the girl that had suddenly appeared he spoke to her none the less. " watch him a second, we Weill continue shortly" With that Red walked over to Thor and ripped the arrow out of Thor and handed him the note.

Thor watched the hooded figure ran away almost directly south. "Coward!" Thor yelled. Then Red took the arrow out of Thor's armor and handed him a note that had been on the arrow. He looked. 'Follow me' was scrawled on the piece of parchment. He looked at his injured allies, then he looked at the archer running off. He was to fast for Thor and his allies were in no shape to give chase. He threw the note down. "coward." He stomped on it. Thor walked over to the youth.
"So, dark haired warrior, what is your name?"

Koal lifted his head with some difficulty, the slight movement causing his whole body to scream in protest. The Warrior was standing in front of him, and Koal licked his lips before replying. "You can call me Koal." He gestured feebly with his right hand to Leah, who was leaning on the tree, directly to his right. "This is my protector and friend, Leah." she managed a wave as he spoke her name.

Koal struggled to his feet, using the rough bark of the oak tree to support his weight. "And what name might I know you by?" The black-haired youth addressed the other man, looking down an inch or two to meet his sky-blue eyes. Koal assessed the man, his eyes pouring over his body, reading every crevice like a book. This man had been fighting his whole life, and his stature and the way he spoke sounded of noble birth, and he carried the air of a seasoned leader.

A veteran, if the shadows in his eyes were anything to go by.He had seen many battles, and much death. Koal could respect this man because he was a man worthy of respect. Koal let out a smirk and focused as the man began to talk. "You may call me Thor, young one." The man had a deep baritone voice that was expected of one of his size and stature. But the name rung a chord deep in Koal's memory...Thor... he couldn't place the name, but it sounded so damn familiar.

Koal burst into another coughing fit, a little more blood painting the scenery red. Leah moved forward to help him back, but Koal held up a hand to forestall her. "I'm fine, honestly, it's just a little blood." Leah let out a very unladylike snort, "No, a little blood is a nosebleed. You're leaking pints of the stuff!" Her voice rose in pitch as she neared the end of her rant. Koal rolled his eyes and regarded Thor's companion.

"And you are?"

"I go by Red Hood" Red said kneeling down by Koal. He looked young but his eyes showed wisdom of a man much older than the teen he was looking at. Red took out the orb that Omni had given him. "Do you have one of these? I used it to heal myself in battle before meeting up with you." Red said returning the orb to its resting place. Red hoped that koal also had one, they were still always off from the castle. Not knowing the extent of his injuries he wasn't sure if the youth would make it. Maybe if Thor flies ahead I can follow on foot to the castle, we've got to get koal out of here though Red thought looking nervously into the darkness of the forest surrounding the group. Luckily the stormtroopers knew better to follow them into portal. Red was very much hoping they wouldn't follow them. It was a risky choice but it paid off, since they were safe. For the time being that is.

Koal smiled and closed his eyes, holding his palm out flat, and within a couple of seconds, a small orb of coalesced rainbow light levitated above his palm. It awed him as it always did, and he was mesmerized by it for a second or two, the swirling mixture of colors hypnotizing him...Koal shook his head and cleared his head.

He needed focus if he was going to do this. His violet orbs fluttered shut and his eyebrows furrowed in concentration as the orb began to pulse with a bright light, emitting a soft humming noise. Koal felt his pains melt away with each pulse of the orb, and he let out a grin as his body began to feel rejuvinated.

The orbs faded back into nothingness as Koal let go of his concentration, smiling ear to ear, his fangs glinting in the sunlight as he let out a deep laugh. Koal strectched, relishing in the feeling, bathing in the absence of pain. "Pleasure to meet ya, mister." He stuck his hand out to shake hands with the shorter figure in front of him, his eyes glinting with a joyful light. Red looked at the hand before hesitantly taking the proffered hand.

Leah walked forward and pushed Red out of the way, rather rudely, and stalked around Koal whilst she inspected his body for wounds. She found none. "Damn, that Omnilium stuff must be pretty dang useful." Her golden eyes were wide in wonder and shock, and her mouth was curved into an impressed grin.

"Not bad, Lynch. Not bad at all." She smiled a genuine smile and moved to stand next to him, her wings folding back onto her back.

"So, uh, where are we headed guys?" Koal decided to e the first to break the ice, "I know you guys probably have some kind of plan, I would like to hear it." Koal's playful manner had all but dissapeared, a serious expression settling on his face. His violet eys searched the sky-blue orbs of Thor, and the black eyes of Red...

Red sighed with relief. The kid was going to alright looking him in the eye he shook his hand. Under his red helmet he was smiling. Koal reminded him a lot of himself. Red was surprised at how much he cared for the youth given how little he truly knew about him. "Glad to see you're better Koal" Red said genuinely. " Our plan is to head to that castle and hope they are more welcoming then the Empire" Red said pointing towards the castle in the far off distance. "I'm taking a personal vendetta against the Empire. Hopefully the Kingdom will offer us asstince" Red began to walk, patting Thor on the shoulder they set on there way.

Thor returned the pat with a hearty laugh. "That sounds like a plan! We shall muster an army and lay siege to the empire!" Thor began to head toward the castle following Red. "Come Koal and Lady Leah! Today we march toward victory!"

The sun had began to she on the massive castle of Minas Tirith, it had taken the group of adventures several hours to make it to their destination but at last they had made it. The farmers and other citizens that lived out side of the walls of the great city watched with nervous skepticism at the arrival of the four. Hushed whispers could be heard as mothers ushered their children into their dwellings but none seemed outright hostile towards their presence. Seems a tad more welcoming then Courscant had been thought Red Hood hopefully. As they approached the great gates a voice yelled down to them from a gaurd tower.
"Halt! Who goes there?!" The guard cried, eyeing the blantant weapons that were on display that Red Hood and Thor carried.
"Just travelers looking for a safe haven for the night and for work if there is any" Red shouted raising his hands in a sign of peace.
"Just what kind of work do expect to find in our city so heavily armed?" The guard yelled still eyeing their weapons. The constant attacks from the orcs and the occasional storm troopers had put the citizens and military personal on high alert.
Looking down atvhis guns and back up at the guard "As you can see we are warriors, we offer aide in any way your leader sees fit, we don't mean harm." Red said bowing slightly the guard mulled this over for a mintue before speaking again.
"Wait here." The guard said mumbling about mercenary primes. Red looked at his companions nervously.

The gates in which the group had been waiting in front of suddenly began to open, the gate groaned and creaked in protest. Four heavily armoured guards rushed out on horse back pointing spears at them. "State your names primes!" One of guard screamed from his mount. Here we go again Red thought anxiously looking at the point of the spear that was positioned about a few feet from his face.

Thor looked at the 4 men on horseback as they approached. He looked at his hammer. No, they were seeking allies not enemies. He would curb his lust for battle. Three of the men moved ahead of the 4th. One of the men move to face each of his companions as well as himself and each point of the spear at them. The one that has held himself back shouted for them to reveal their name.
"I am Thor Odinson, heir to the throne of Asgard." Thor ignored the man with the spear in front of him and spoke directly to the man who seem to be commanding them."I and my companions seek allies against the empire and it's agents." Thor continued with a more jovial tone. " I also seek Mead and entertainment regardless of whether we can find a life in a fight or not."

Koal felt the nostalgia grip him as he once again traversed through the green land that was Camelot. His senses remembered everything, the smell of the air, the feather-light caresses of the breeze, and bright sunbathing the land. A land f fairytales and magic, a place for Koal to find his purpose. Their trip to the city on the mountain was fairly uneventful, nothing of importance happening, nothing but playful banter between the small group. Koal spent most of his time trying to solve riddles that Leah threw at him. Her mind was sharp and quick, far more so than the young teens.

Leah eventually returned to her place inside Koal's mind, the musical color of her thoughts once more residing in his head. She continued to throw riddles at him, and Koal struggled with more than a few. But they eventually reached the city, the various farm dotting the landscape replaced by a towering wall of cleanly hewn stone making Koal feel significantly smaller and less important. Red and Thor had verbal exchanges with guards, and Koal found himself at spear-point. His demonic blood boiled, and he let out a low growl, warning the man to remove the spear before he found his head stuck on it.

His face paling considerably, he guard hurriedly removed the weapon from Koal's grasp, pulling back on the leather reigns that were attached to his steed's bridle. It was a beautiful animal, with a sleek black coat, a glossy black mane, and purple eyes... Wait a second.THAT WAS HIS HORSE! Koal's eyes widened in realization, his purple iris locking onto the man's blue ones. "Where did you find this horse?" the young teen demanded. The guardsman began to stutter as he spoke, utterly terrified of Koal's demonic presence," W-w-we found it coming ou-out of the w-w-oods a weeks or two ago. why?"

"Because it's my horse." The man hurriedly dismounted, handing the reigns to Koal with a white-knuckled grip. Koal snatched the leather chords out of his hand, growling as he did so. He walked circles around the horse and found it was still in one piece, and nothing was out of order... Thor and Red were busy negotiating their way into the city, so Koal took a few minutes to manifest some sugar cubes, feeding his horse all but one, and popping the remaining cube into his mouth...

The guard looked at the three and finally barked them "Fine, youre going to have to talk to the head of the guard, he'll have final say on what to do with you primes." With that he steered his horse and began to walk towards the inner most of the city. The other two rode beside them, and the last waljing behinf them. Red looked at the man bewildered, then noticing that Koal was now holding the reigns leading the beautiful beast. Red stifled laughter as he looked at the teen and his new pet.How the hell did you mange that Koal? Red thought with a slight chuckle as he began to follow the guards.
