Who to be
#1
Got some ideas. What do you think? In order of how much thought I've given them:

Talindaar (Draenei Paladin OC)

Pros:
- Interesting powers
- A true good guy, plus a little on the dumb side; would be fun to write as
- Built like a brick shithouse and hits like a train
- Can think of some good stories
- Would be more inclined to be a group rper with this guy

Cons:
- Somewhat restricted on powers/moves
- Would have no morally grey area
- A lot of ally skills (healing, buff) aren't all that 'powerful' in the classic sense, may be hard to come up with moves

Ysera (Warcraft)

Pros:
- Cool powers/history. Could make some powers up
- Different personality to most others, would be more pacifist, moves based on debilitating instead of damaging, would be cool
- Could establish a new Emerald Dream in the Astral Realm

Cons:
- May be difficult to stray from a protectionist, conservative viewpoint (in my mind)
- I feel I may have trouble finding her character as I did Link

Archon (Protoss OC)

Pros:
- A flawed Archon, made from High and Dark Templar: lots of interesting development options
- Powers would be fun
- (maybe con?) A challenge to write someone who doesn't have facial features beyond eye movements

Cons:
- Not as many story ideas outside of history driven motives
- Would probably like a magic/high fantasy character instead of an alien/tech based one for variety

Earthworm Jim

Pros:
- Funny, lighthearted, non-serious character would be great to write as
- Interesting array of powers
- Another true, non-corruptible good guy

Cons:
- Novelty may wear off after a while
- Pulling off a funny character might not work well

Ziggs (LoL)

Pros:
- Insane in a way that tickles me. High energy, enthusiastic.
- Inventor, so plenty of story fodder

Cons:
- There's only so many things you can do with bombs
- The character whom I've given the least amount of consideration to

I am going to be honest with you and say the one character that popped out was Earthworm Jim. I get that writing a character with a bit of humor might be difficult but its also possible to write some serious moments. The others just didn't pop out enough for me. I like the other chars ( except ziggo..dont know that one.)

Just my opinion ^^

Be Jinx from LoL please.

And go have crazy hijinks with Vi in Costa del Sol.

MAKE IT HAPPEN

Anyway, be the paladin. As someone who also writes a paladin as an NPC, it's fun. Plus we already have enough morally gray angst factories around here. Be a beacon of light.

I've written EWJ before. He's a blast. That's who I suggest.

I agree with Alex that good guys are the best. Join us.

And Earthworm Jim is hilarious and awesome. Take it from me, joining as a non-traditional character has been probably the best decision I have ever made in regards to roleplaying. I love playing Mickey so much and I don't think the novelty has worn off?

(...though people are welcome to let me know if I'm wrong about that.)

As someone who plays as Deadpool, the novelty doesn't wear off, as long as you dont base your character around that novelty.

I don't really know Ysera and don't know EWJ at all, so I can't really say much.

Ziggs doesn't seem like a good pick, he's just a crazy pyro/bomb-o-maniac. I don't think you would have much fun with him before he gets old.

And for the SC characters, you could try merging them? Give the archon a "stable" form, or the other way around allow Talindaar to transform into an Archon? They're a good pick I think though, even if they are from a futuristic scenario they would be interesting to have in the Omniverse. I was considering Artanis or other Protoss prior to my switch though so I'm biased.

I'm also with Alex on this one. Not only would another straight up heroic figure be welcome, Talindaar makes for a good contrast to Ditto. Plus, it's worth pointing out that Paladins don't serve just a support healing/buffing role, but are also capable of smiting evil entities on their own.

Earthworm Jim sounds like an interesting idea if you're good at humour. But I do agree with DP that the character shouldn't be based on a novelty.

Thanks guys. I find myself agreeing with you all, except now I have to make the choice between EWJ and Talindaar. Might write up some character sheets or something. Cheers!

It might help if you write up an RP example for each character. That would also show how good your grasp of each character is.
