I step into the Nexus - immediately a loud whistling noise reaches my ears. "All aboard the Nexus Tourist Train!" a woman shouts. My eyes search for the source and land on a train with four carts trailed behind. The two front carts have velvety-looking benches, with the exterior of the carts looking like a singular piece of a golden-bronze metal. The other two look like they're for luggage, as would be evidenced by the colourful-looking assortment of bags and boxes on them. It's not moving, and while walking all the way over to our destination sounds just peachy, I decide that I'd rather lounge around until we end up where we need to be.

I step up to the woman at the front of the train. Her getup looks a bit odd, but I guess that's what conductors or whatever train-driver-people are called wear. "Hey! We're just gonna hop on here. Could you let us know when we end up at the Bendy Dooms?" I ask. "The Endless Dunes," Histy corrects, "not... er, are we allowed to..."

"Don't be shy," the conductor-lady replies. "But you're a Prime, right?" she adds. "If you are, would you mind putting some Omnilium into the fuel tank? This train runs on the stuff."

"You got it!" I shout and hop on board the front train cart. I try my hardest to ignore all the flashy buttons and levers and stuff, only flipping open a lid with the word 'fuel' over it. I hold out my hand and focus for a second - in my palm, a medium-sized ball of Omfeefiefohfum appears. I stick it into the opening the flipped-up lid created, close the lid and hop back onto the... er, ground. Does this place even have ground? I'll have to ask Histy about how this place works later. I hope she knows something, or can figure something out.

"Thanks," goes the conductor-lady. "Fortunately we're not too busy today, so you can lay down on one of those benches there. I'll give you a shout once we're near the gate to the Dunes, all right?"

Histy and I both smile and nod. I lay down on one of the benches - Histy lays down between me and the bench so she and her tome don't fall off. "While I'd like to do some sightseeing," I mutter to Histy, "this place could stand to be a little more interesting, y'know?"

She's already drifted off to sleep. She's smiling, which makes me smile, too. I look up at what I can only assume is the sky and let my mind wander. It stays close enough to home, with my mind thinking about how hard Histy works. She doesn't get nearly as much rest as she's been getting here. So, while this is a bit of a weird place, it's nice enough, and I'm glad she's getting a vacation for once.

...Well, sort of a vacation.

I wonder, for a moment, what's going on back home. The last thing I remember is giving Iffy and Compa some pudding. What exactly I heard from them that night is a bit of a blur, but I can still sort of remember my conversation with them. The scope of my thoughts expands further outward than just the people I directly interacted with that night - there's still Noire, Vert and Blanc. They must've had their all-nighter and now they're probably all tired - I laugh a little. Vert's used to it, since she spends a lot of her nights gaming, but Noire and Blanc aren't anywhere near as hardcore as she is. In my mind's eye I can see Noire sleeping on her desk, and Rom and Ram trying to wake up Blanc, but she just pulls them into bed and goes back to sleep...

I wonder what they'd be doing if they were here with me. Further, I wonder why I was chosen instead of anybody else to come here. I mean, I'm not complaining - the time I've spent here has been fun - but I can't help but wonder, how would things be different if, say, Noire had been brought in my place?

Well, she'd be lonely. Noire's such a loner. I laugh.

Before I know it, a whistle blowing snaps me out of my daydreaming. "Stopping at the Endless Dunes gate! Mini-me and minier-me, here's your stop!" she shouts with a happy look on her face.

I stand up, cradle Histy in my arms and walk toward the gate. "Thanks! See ya!" I shout as the train starts on its way again. "Wake up, Histy," I say. "We're gonna get us a Sharicite!"

I leap through the gate before me.
