Character Name: Jaixe
Character Source: Kingdom Hearts (kinda) (Original Character)
Character History:
Heartless, mindless creatures of Darkness born from the shadows of people's hearts, the manifestations of their souls and consciousness. They are void of thought, wallowing in despair, rage, hatred, and other chaotic emotions. They collect Hearts for the sole purpose of fulfilling the void that was once filled by their own. This is what Jaixe is born of, though he does not succumb to the illusion that Darkness should be devoid of thought or order.
Jaixe was once a human, referred to by a different name, and originating from a world locked in constant twilight and distant storms. A world filled with towering skyscrapers and urban sprawl, that was somehow totally isolated in its existence from the rest of the worlds. That man sought knowledge beyond his existence due to such an apparently meaningless existence, and pursued knowledge about the Darkness and its many followers in his desire to be power, ageless, and most importantly, influential. Of course he would eventually be swallowed by the Darkness, consumed by the Heartless, and in the end, become one himself.
He was turned into a shadow, a tiny incarnation of the Darkness he so zealously sought to understand but failed in the end. However, though that shadow appeared weak and frail like the others, there was something unique about it that drove it to evolve and grow in power. It bore sparks, fragments of its past and thoughts. Jaixe is a pureblood Heartless, one not born from an experiment gone wrong, that later evolved into a Seeker of Darkness. They are especially rare entities that have access to the memories of his past self, a connection to the Realm of Darkness and its inhabitants, and are self-aware, capable of intelligent thought and planning.
It wasn’t long after his transformation that he met his other self, a Nobody, born from the same tragedy that created him. The two would ally with one another, with Jaixe commanding and the other serving as his champion, with the idea that the will and desire of one is the same as the other. With this arrangement, and Jaixe’s natural affinity for attracting and commanding Heartless around him due to the very nature of Heartless to swarm against their enemies, Jaixe began attempted a campaign with the goal of washing every world in shadow and destroying every trace of the Light. Kingdom Hearts, Keyblades, prophetic stories, the tenuous, intricate balance of Light and Dark, those were deemed irrelevant by him. He did not seek to use power shrouded in unreliable mysteries or submit himself to the fantasies of an age so veiled in chaos that answers seemed impossible to find. Instead, he utilized that which he thought was power in its truest form.
Not much time passed until he and his Nobody self were slain for the first time due to this overconfidence in his strength. It was a miscalculation, plain and simple, he shouldn't have let them get so close to him, let alone let that girl strike at him with a Keyblade. Much as he may detest them, they were still his greatest weakness. Jaixe was at least certain that he wouldn't make that same reckless mistake twice. He was correct, though, with putting his faith in one thing: the secret that he learned that would allow them to be truly immortal, even against Keybladers. When a Heartless and their Nobody are vanquished, they return again to the being they once were. He knew it was inevitable that the cycle would repeat itself and he would return.
Of course, that was until he heard the sound of running water and felt a soft, gentle wind as he waded in the never ending sea of darkness he was cast into upon his demise. That was unexpected for someone who should be back in the comfort of his own long-abandoned and decrepit home...
(I decided to avoid being particularly descriptive for the fact that I wasn’t the only one writing the story that this guy originates from. This should adequately explain what Jaixe is, what sort of personality he has, and how he deviates from normal KH canon. Seekers are not normally created due to an evolutionary struggle, after all. Though Jaixe was not yet a significant figure, and was generally far weaker and prominent than Ansem in the story when he was brought here, I at least noted, or hinted at, enough of his history for me to use as a foundation if I need to play it by ear. And no, the female Keyblader is not one of the canon characters, if you're wondering.)
Physical Description:
Image
Jaixe appears as an almost unassuming young man with a slim figure and long, spiky hair that reaches to below the base of his neck. He has pointed ears, an oddity given that his original human form lacked such, and blood-orange glowing eyes with cat-like pupils. The expression that adorns his face is almost always studious and focused, if not bored or scornful.
Stats: +1 Stat Increase (1000 OM)
ATK: 2
DEF: 3
SPD: 3
TEC: 3
Starting Proficiencies:
Ranged Proficiency – 1000 OM
Starting Powers:
Survival – 2000 OM
Due to his nature as a living entity of darkness, Jaixe lacks things such as internal organs or even blood. For that reason, he can sustain injuries and survive in environments that would normally be fatal to anyone else. However, due to either the balancing effect or simply the foreign nature of the Omniverse, crippling attacks targeting specific muscle groups, those designed to sever limbs, and poison-based techniques will still find themselves effective as if Jaixe still had lungs or muscles that could be afflicted.
(I'm not doing that remote control for severed arms thing. I'm an entity of darkness, not a zombified barbie doll with pop-off limbs thank you. If I do anything similar to that, I'll do it with some style and make it a halfway respectable move. *Avoids making obvious Captain Falcon joke.*)
Starting Moves:
Shadow Beam - 300 OM (Requires Ranged Proficiency)
Jaixe’s hand glows a dark violet, and is covered in shadowy flames as he takes aim with it, his open palm facing whatever his target might be. After two seconds of charging, a beam of violet and black energy launches from the empty palm and straight ahead at its intended target.
The beam is roughly one and a half meters in diameter, four meters in length, and travels at speeds greater than a standard arrow at around one-hundred and sixty meters per second, but is still considerably slower than the average bullet. The beam hits like any traditional beam attack would. The beam does not curve or track its target in any way, it only fires straight to where it is aimed. It also cannot be charged up for increased damage. Repeated usage without at least a few seconds break in between firing can be increasingly exhausting.
Energy Storm - 300 OM (Requires Ranged Proficiency)
Jaixe conjures three small, violet and black colored, swirling orbs that revolve around his hand in a triangular formation. Functioning much like a gun, Jaixe takes aim with his arm and fires off a barrage of dark energy missiles, each one originating from one of the orbs in a sequential fashion.
The overall rate of fire of the ability is twelve missiles per second, with each orb firing four. Each orb has the capacity to fire forty missiles, thereby giving it a sustained firing time of ten seconds before the orbs dissipate and the ability needs to be recasted. Jaixe must wait three seconds before being able to recast this ability. The missiles do not track, and function similarly as bullets upon impacting against anything. If an orb is destroyed or damaged (it is a small and frail target after all), it dissipates and cuts the rate of fire and capacity accordingly.
I confirm that I have read and agreed to the Rules of Conduct.
