Email: From "Blues" to "Samus Aran"

Dear Samus,

Hey! I always forget that the Dataverse can be used to send letters. The world I came from had pseudo-sapient robots capable of destroying cities, but for whatever reason, I don't remember email being a thing. I think it's a... what do they call it? A quirk? Robot Masters can communicate with one another over what is essentially a wifi or broadband connection, but the video game consoles could only support 8-bit graphic interfaces and they sold music on these plastic cartridges filled with ribbon.

I met a mouse a few days ago. His name is Mickey. I think he mentioned knowing you? He's probably already been in touch with you... he seems to be a little more on top of things than I am. He and I met Tyrande, who seemed like a nice lady. She has very symmetric facial features. That makes her pretty, if I'm not mistaken? It kind of made me miss that nice lady from the Library, do you remember her?

Anyway, I stopped the Blight... it's still there, but the prime who was spreading it isn't going to threaten anyone anytime soon. Are you all right? I had to watch you die on those video screens, and I'd like to never have to do that again. Those people were jerks. Mickey may have mentioned you are in Camelot again... I hope it's safe from those dragons. Have you found Harry? I still remember when he and I shared soft drinks in his little fortress of wizardry!

I think I typed too much, so I'll stop. Mickey, Mireya (you'd like here -- she's kind of like you a little, only without the metal suit and the guns), and I are going to a place called Ambrosia. Mickey has a wife, and I'm sure she's very pleasant.

Anyway, you take care now, okay? Don't break too many jaws, all right?

Thank you for the very nice email. I’m glad you’re with Mickey, and I hope you’re having fun together.

By the sounds of it you’ve been doing some very great things. You’re courageous well beyond your years, do you know that? Just don’t do anything too dangerous. I know you’re a prime but there are some very bad people out there and they can do things worse than kill you. I know you’re a brave boy so you won’t be scared, and it’s important that you know this. I’ve tried to catch up with you but it seems like you’re always one step ahead of me. Maybe soon we can meet up again, once I’m done here in Camelot.

I haven’t seen Nanoha, nor Harry since the competition. I know Adam has tried to get in touch. Adam is a friend of mine, I’m not sure I ever introduced you two. He’s a computer like you but without a body. He’s very smart and he used to be a military commander. I’m letting him deal with the complicated stuff about this “MESH”. Like you said it’s kind of a web. A network. But only for good people like you and me who can help others. I’ve told Mickey about it so hopefully Tyrande will want to join. I’ve reached out to the King of Camelot, but he’s proving a little difficult, so I have to stay a little longer. By the time I’m done with him he’ll be begging to be a part of our little organisation. Don’t worry, I won’t touch his jaw.

I’m sorry you had to see what you did in that competition. Sometimes bad things happen and we can’t stop them. That’s why it’s important that you stay with Mickey. That’s why MESH is important. There are bad people in the Omniverse and I’m doing my best to stop them. For you. For all the good people.

Subject: “Blight Redux?”

Dear Samus,

It’s been a while. I’m not even sure if you’re still in the Omniverse. If you are, you probably already know this, but there are some real bad monsters rampaging in the Vasty Deep. I guess the situation has become very bad, places overrun by things called ‘darklings.’ I’m not exactly sure what it’s all about, but I did speak to some guys who work for a Mister Regal. They gave me some tech and sent me out to go find some stronghold.

I’m going to try and help the people in the Archipelago. The Empire just wants to play the containment game, and they’re letting these poor people deal for themselves. Unlike the Empire, I won’t use my power to sit on my keister (Mickey told me that’s an appropriate word).

Are you okay? I’ve been off the grid for a long while… the Omniverse has been really harsh on Mickey and Minnie. I’ve been living with them and some secondaries. I didn’t realize that so much has happened just miles from where I’ve been living.

I’m going to do what I can. I don’t know what to expect. Do you have any intel on these things? Anything would be useful, so I know what the ‘heck’ to expect. I doubt that by myself I can stem the tide, but I might be able to buy the people on the Archipelago time to escape?

I’m sure you’re probably dealing with this yourself, so you may not even read this anytime soon. We swore to be webs for good people, after all!
