Fortis stepped through the gate that led to.. Whatever it led to, and quickly saw an entirely different place. The time it took to be transported to this place was surprisingly short, but that's not what amazed the knight currently. The world he stepped into looked a lot like his own home. There were castles, towns, all sorts of things he would've seen in the country he came from. Just about everything looked familiar, except the occasional pegasus or dragon that could be seen flying around in the distance.
"What is this?" He said to himself. The knight was simply standing in front of the large gate he had just walked through, and was quite confused about how he should continue. The various flying creatures in the distance amazed him, but he had to continue exploring, he probably looked like an idiot just standing there.
Instead of looking toward the sky, Fortis was now looking around to see what town would be the closest to him, and it seemed that one was only a few minutes away if he were to travel on foot. So that would be his next destination, maybe the town's people would know of the world they were in and give him some information.
Just as he presumed, it only took a few minutes to get to the town. It looked very familiar, but he couldn't tell why.. All of his memories from before seemed to be fading little by little. Not that it mattered to him, this was likely all a dream anyway. As he looked around the town, he found a tavern. These were always good for gathering some information, so the knight entered.
He walked in and sat at the bar, ignoring the strange looks he was getting from the other people in the tavern. Fortis asked the bar tender for the largest mug of ale he had, and was quickly given it. The knight took a few minutes to enjoy is drink, then turned to the one who had served him. "I'd like to know what this place is." He said as he placed his drink back onto the bar.
"This is Camelot of course! Why would you come here without knowing at least that?" The man replied, making Fortis seem a bit annoyed. He hadn't thought that he would need to be more specific, it was obvious that the new world he was in was named something like that.
"I meant the world itself, Camelot is the name of some fictional kingdom.." He said, but this was met with a sigh and a shake of the bar tender's head. The knight was now being ignored, the man must've thought he was drunk! Oh well.. He would just have to get information from some one else.
