A Second Chance
#1
The encounter was...different.

Though, really, Rave didn't know what to expect after the being who called itself 'Omni' vanished. She was grateful, eternally, that she was gone from her living hell. No more experiments, no more torture at the hands of that sadistic bastard Silva. No more...touching. She was free, and for the longest while Rave simply stood in place, staring at the fountain before her, her and trying to get used to the fact that she's been pulled from her world to this one because she had 'interested a cosmic being'. Or some such thing, Rave was already trying to push past it and instead focus on the here and now. She could dwell on the past later.

The dark skinned woman looked down at herself and quirked her lips slightly as she took in her attire. Simple jeans and a tank top. Her fists were taped, though that wasn't unusual. She normally did, though that was when she was free and fighting the Special Police back home. She hadn't had to do any of that when she was being held captive. She reached up and tugged at her hair, which was longer than she remembered it. A few strides took her to the edge of the fountain and Rave peered into the crystal clear water at her reflection. She looked so much younger than she remembered...or perhaps older? The gravity manipulator furrowed her eyebrows before standing straight up. She sniffed as she held up a hand and balled it into a fist.

Nothing.

Even when Omni was speaking and giving her the rundown of her current situation Rave had only half listened. Something else was nagging at her, something that left her feeling nothing short of horrified. She didn't know what this feeling was and didn't until this very moment. She closed her eyes and looked, searched with a growing sense of panic and unease. Her breathing grew more erratic as she clenched her teeth to the point that her gums started to bleed. The burning fire inside of her was cold, barely alive. But...but it was there, if not just barely. Snapping her eyes open Rave pulled it out, called to it and made her powers manifest around her. You couldn't actually see the Gravity Field around her unless one was perspective enough to see the ripples that the increased gravity around her caused, but Rave could feel it, and that feeling was enough to calm her considerably.

'Not enough,' she thought to herself. 'Not enough power.'

For a moment her greatest fear had come true; she'd become nothing more than a normal sack of meat, a jumbled mess of useless DNA that she'd once fought against. Human. Even in her mind she sneered the word. But no, she was just considerably weaker than she was back home. The very thought of home sent a shiver down her spine. No, her war was not lost. Merely postponed until this...Omni saw fit to send her back home. Maybe when the amusement of having Rave around, ripping the place apart, finally wore off the thing would send Rave back home, back to Rome where she could continue her mission.

Until then...

“Excuse me.”

Rave blinked a moment before she looked up. She breathed out a moment, a bit heavy due to the strain of the Gravity Field, before she cleared her throat and stood up straight, crossing her arms over her ample chest. The figures were strange, dressed in white armor and carrying rather impressive looking guns. The Goddess of Gravity tilted her head somewhat and socked an eyebrow in an amused manner as the two armored figures took a step back at the gesture. She couldn't possibly fathom why, but Rave knew fear when she saw it. And these two were doused in it.

“What?” Rave let out, her whiskey-on-the-rocks voice a tad deeper than normal. She figured it was due to disuse after being Silva's captive for so long. “What do you want?”

“Uhhh...” one of them took a step forward. “We're Storm Troopers from Coruscant verse. We wish to escort you to the city where you can be made more comfortable.”

Her first instinct was to destroy them with a wave of her hand. Tiberius had once told her that, in just about ever instance they'd ever had to to battle, he'd probed her mind to see what her first instinct was. Almost every single time he did so he got the image of Rave jumping into the fray with no regards to herself and wiping out every human she could muster the power to destroy. He had warned her that such thinking would cost her in the future, though Rave merely scoffed at the time. Now...now she listened, though it was mostly for self preservation than anything else.

She simply wasn't strong enough.

“Sure.” Rave replied in far more pleasant manner than she was used to. “Lead the way. What are your names?”

“I'm Biggs,” one of the armored men said, pointing to himself before jerking a thumb to his partner. “That's Wedge. And, hey, you being a new Prime and all, why not let Wedge and I give you all the info you need? Coruscant is always looking for strong Primes. What can you do?”

Rave smirked. “I control gravity.”

A moment of silence passed as Biggs slightly faltered in his step. “...oh.”

“Yeah. Oh.”

“Well. I'm sure you'll be welcome in Coruscant...what was your name again?” Wedge piped up with his question, trying to draw away from Biggs' obvious discomfort.

“Valeria Decimus.” the dark haired woman replied. “Though most everyone calls me Rave.”

“Well Rave,” Wedge continued, nodding to the woman before lightly punching his partner in the shoulder. “Let me tell you everything we know...”
