Back to the Lab Again (Not Again!)
#1
After Dr. Alphys returned to the Avengers Tower, she locked herself away in the tower lab. With the love of her life off on a deadly mission all she had to pass the time was her work. For what she figured was a week or so, she was a hermit to the rest of the Avengers, tinkering away at her latest invention. It was something she knew would change how the Omniverse communicated, or at least how the Avengers communicated.

Her process was simple: she summoned, tinkered with it, studied how it worked. When she ran into a dead end, she then summoned a better version from what she learned. Being a prime helped with her job as an inventor, but just added a middle man to the science angle of things. Made more difficult by the fact holograms was an area she never traveled before.

After all her efforts, for the awkward tests, the trials and errors, she finally had something down that was workable. All that was left one lest test run, a human test run.

Across from her was a tube, ten feet high and twenty feet wide, barely clearing the height of the ceiling lab. She made it so big knowing the Avengers may attract hulking brutes one day. Knowing that she was immortal only gave her mild comfort in testing the chamber on herself. She pulled out her phone, and called Jarvis.

“Greetings Dr. Alphys, how may I help you?”

“You know what I’m about to do, don’t be coy!”

“No need to be impolite”

With one big breath, she stepped into the chamber.

Suddenly, the chamber disappeared around her, and suddenly she was standing on what was her work desk. She was tiny, no bigger than a mouse. She reached for the surface, but her hand merely went through it.

She focused her mind, feeling for the boundaries. There was no desk beneath her. That is merely the floor of the chamber.

Remembering that, she opened her eyes and she was floating. With a little bit of mental pushing, she did loop-de-loops in the air.

For her next trick, she thought big. It only took a modicum of thought for her body to enlarge. Suddenly she was her usual size, her waist clipping through the desk.

She looked over towards the chamber and saw herself, flailing about inside, thinking she was flying and enlarging in size. Now was time for her final test.

“Hello Dr. Alphys.” She said to herself. She tried desperately not to hear her own voice, but instead hear the voice in the background. She spoke again, trying harder this time. “I said, hello Dr. Alphys.”

She heard it this time. It was almost like an echo, but it was clearly there.

The doctor smiled wide as she upcut the air in excitement, and nearly chucked her phone.

She stepped out of the chamber, which shut off automatically behind her.

“I did it!” Yelled out Alphy. “Communicators can receive holographic transmissions! Imagine what this could do for the Omniverse!”

“Nice work Doctor.” The AI responded.

“Now I just need to update it so you don’t need a giant chamber in your house.”

Suddenly, she got a chime on her phone. She tapped through the device. Apparently Undyne was finally off mission.

“Well, we’ll have to save that for next time. Farewell!” She called out as she rushed for her room to pack.

Ten minutes or so later, she was off to the Tangle Green!
