Abyssal Beginnings

As Abyss woke, she still felt anger from when she was last awake. From what she could last remember, there was some sort of mutiny on her ship, and she was knocked off of the ship and into the water. As she looked around, all she saw was a black void surrounding herself, with nothing of value that she could see. "Oh, great is this the afterlife? This is kinda underwhelming, I thought it would be like paradise. I guess if this is where I-"

Before Abyss could continue her thought, a bright silhouette suddenly appeared in front of her, startling her a bit as she walked a bit back. As she prepared to put her mechanical tentacles in front of herself in self-defense just in case, the figure started talking, without even giving her a chance to talk.

“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Abyss was very confused on what Omni said, as she had no idea on what a Omniverse was, or what he even meant by the place being a way to reflect the wishes of the people in it. She was angered a bit since there were rules she had to listen to, but since she was still cautious of the silhouette, Abyss decided to continue and let it talk for a bit more. At that moment, Omni placed a orb in front of her shining various colors of the rainbow. As Abyss picked it up, she decided to squeeze it a bit to see what it was, but before she could crush it, the silhouette stopped her and continued to talk.

“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

As Omni finished talking, the silhouette disappear as the darkness around Abyss started to clear up around Abyss and was replaced by a white and empty landscape with a fountain in front of her, and the orb flew around and eventually into her body. As Abyss walked around the fountain and checked around for something else that she could see. Luckily for Abyss, she saw 8 different gates from the horizon, surrounding the Fountain.

"Oh thank goodness, something that isn't this fountain! I thought I would be stuck here forever, but maybe if I can get closer to one of those things, I can leave this white void!" Before Abyss started to head torwards one of the gates, she decided to blindfold herself with one of her own tentacles so that she could choose one of the gates at random. As she blindfolded herself and started walking, she started to think to herself on what to do once she got out of this void. Since that Omni guy said that Omnilium could be used for anything that she could desire, she thought that she could make herself even more fearsome than when she was a Egg Boss before the Omniverse, and maybe even put fear on others that may want her Omnilium.

After a half hour of walking, Abyss finally removed the tentacles from over her eyes and took a look at which gate would be the closest one to her. As she looked around, she saw that the gate closest to her was a gate that looked like a giant archway of steel in appearence. "Huh, so I guess I am going through this modern gate to who knows where. Ah well, beats being in this void. But still, maybe I should try creating something to speed this up..." As Abyss finished talking, she sat down and tried concentrating on making something to speed up her way to the gate.

After around 5 minutes of concentration, Abyss was finally able to finish on creating her first object out of Omnilium, which unfortunately to her was just a simple blue segway with a anchor on the front, which angered her a bit since she thought she would create something cooler like a ship with wheels or some sort of motorcycle. Despite her anger though, she decided to give the segway a try, and she hopped onto it as she turned it on. As she started applying speed onto the segway, she was surprised as the simple vehicle was speeding around at around 70 miles per hour, quite a bit faster then she could travel while walking. She could go faster in short bursts, but since the speed on the segway was constant, Abyss decided to keep it, as she sped on the way for the steel gate.

As Oswald was moving around the nexus with ease ringing the trolley bell. He could see a person on a machine moving at a fast speed. "Maybe they know what is going on here." He forced the trolley to go full speed ahead as it gave a loud and clear whistle blow across the nexus. As he slowly gained speed on the person there features grew clear as they realized they were a bipedal squid. "I guess that's normal, in the wastelands?" He waved out to them so the two of them could talk but the squid was quite intent on leaving.

"HEY! OVER HERE!" He yelled over there way, and that finally got there attention. "Sorry I had to yell at you its just that I am slightly confused about this place and was wondering if you could tell me." He climbed out after stopping his trolley and walked over to the squid only to find it was a she. He held out his gloved hand and spoke quickly. "The names Oswald, Oswald the lucky rabbit." She looked at the rabbit with slight confusion as he took off his foot and rubbed it for good luck before placing it back on his leg.

 "Now where were we? Ah! yes introductions." he took a look over at the Segway and chuckled slightly as he went over and took a quick look at it. "Good material. Well crafted, and ah quite the strong generator I see. Its quite the machine you have here if I may say so ma'am." he placed the Segway down after taking a good long look at it and turned back to her, awaiting her name, what ever it may be.

As Abyss was speeding on her segway on her way to the steel archway gate, she paused for a bit as she heard some sort of trolley bell ring and some sort of whistle noise coming closer to her. Since she heard from Omni that there were others who would want her Omnilium for themselves, she assumed that the noise was probably coming from one of the other people who would want her Omnilium, or someone else. As she slowed down her segway enough to try to interact with the other person, she was able to get a better look at the person riding what looked like a trolley.

As Abyss looked at Oswald, she saw what looked like a small black rabbit with a white face and some sort of paintbrush, which confused her as she thought that the person was bizzare in looks for even Mobian standards, if he was even a Mobian in the first place. Abyss then started to think to herself as the rabbit was calling for her."Ugh, if this is what a Mobian looks like in this place, I hope I can get away from them as quick as I can. But first I should listen to what he has to say. Maybe after I can get some information from him I can try scaring him away. Or if I can't, I can always run away from him on my segway''

As Abyss let the rabbit get close enough to speak to her, Oswald sounded just as clueless as she was about this place, which made her -pretty mad since she hoped that she would find someone who actually known about where she was and where she could go. "Oh you got to be kidding me! First non-silhouette being I see here, and he's just as clueless as me! Look, I am just looking for a place that is not this white void, and I think that maybe these gates could be a way out of here, or at the least lead me to one. So for now just leave me be while-"

Before Abyss could continue talking, she heard Oswald compliment her vehicle, which managed to confuse her as she thought that the segway was just one of the less interesting things that she could create. "Hold on, you actually believe that this is a good vehicle in the Omniverse? Look, I just created this in a few minutes just by thinking, and even then it is most likely the most simple thing that I could create! I believe that if I had enough time, that I could possibly create something so much better than this segway that it would leave this machine in the dust!"

"Oh, before I forget, my name is Abyss, and as I was trying to say before, please leave me be while I head on to one of those gates!" As Abyss finished talking, she set up her segway again and started speeding up torwards the gate at it's maximum speed of 70 miles per hour, and after around ten minutes of driving, Abyss was finally able to reach the steel arch gate that she was planning on heading to. As she prepared to head through the gate, Abyss took one last look around the Nexus to make sure that she was making the right decision, before finally stepping through the gate with confidence, one step at a time.
