So I've been thinking "Wouldn't it be GREAT to be a Pokemon Master?" Then I realized "Well... Pokemon are pretty much pointless, since you'd have to have like... a million Assists..."
But since I've been looking for an Alt, I've been forced to reread a lot of the rules to figure out how things SPECIFICALLY work, and then... well... I realized that Pokemon as they are in the videogames are already Prime appropriate.
Pokemon do pretty much nothing unless they have a command to do something, and even then it's from a select move list. These moves are balanced by varying the Power, PP, Effects, Damage, ETC so that no move is outrageously more powerful than another (depending on level progression, of course.) Even then, low level moves scaled based on the creature's power (read "Prime's") power.
So basically, you CAN have Pokemon, and "Captured" pokemon become very viable for a Prime "Pokemon Master" to have.
BUT
This is not the biggest issue. The biggest issue is that Primes are bound by rules... the same rules that bind a Pokemon (Such as Mew Two.) Balanced moves. Higher difficulty areas usually has higher level primes. Primes can carry consumable items that offer temporary bonuses. Primes come in every imagionable shape, size, color, temperature...
Primes... Are... Pokemon.
And Omni is really just a Pokemon master....
But OMNI was smart. Instead of going out and hunting all the pokemon in the world, he gathers them in a loose collection like the Safari zone, and puts a special prize at the end. All the pokemon want the prize, so they all chase it. But to get it, they have to become stronger... and at the end...
He throws his balls at us...
