Sooo I was banking on Homing being useable for turrets, which is one of the three abilities Emrys was going to really improve as time (and OM) progressed. Seeing as that would actually require an assist, and that there would have been a number of those, Emrys' main tactical ability is kaput. As well, when looking at all the other characters (instead of just the rules and such) I don't think Emrys' buff abilities (the second of the three abilities) would have been very good in the first place, which means that he is basically a swiss cheese version of what I was planning.
So, summing up, I'd like to restart; go through the application process all over. My replacement would be an original character that I used to play on another website for a few years (before the fall of Free-Ning) - but I find he'd be SOOOOO much better here. If that's cool, could I have the Emrys thread just locked?
The person who replied to my thread said that they would only be able to attack what Emrys is attacking, which does not work well for a turret. Even with that being said, I think Emrys' later "homing" based abilities might be considered assist, as they gain more and more complex imperatives as he "upgrades" them. I was going to give them "variables" that cost 300, soft of like a Gambit list from FFXII, if you know the reference. The new character (or old, from my perspective) would be a bit less "edgy" in terms of OOC rulebending, which Emrys would have a conflict with just about every new move.

Ah, that's incorrect. You can designate any target for your turrets. What they wouldn't be able to do is smartly decide on a target based on their own preference. Think of them as like a computer. For 300 OM you can program in one 'behaviour'. So you could say "attack what I say you attack, when summoned". Or "When summoned, attack any hostiles that come within 30 metres." It's important to note that you wouldn't be able to change their behaviour, once summoned, without the use of remote control - unless you're literally in direct contact with the turret. I think you can absolutely do what you want to do, and it would be a pretty fun character. If you've got any questions I'm happy to answer them. However if you'd rather be the OC, that's cool too, I just don't want you to think you can't do something when you totally can!
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the
'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters
Samus Aran or
Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
I might still use the turret idea, but like I said Emrys would start bordering on the edge of what's acceptable pretty fast. He was a new OC concept that I just couldn't pull off in this context without having to bug the Help Desk every time I wanted to upgrade a move or buy a move. Emrys is just too complex from the very start. I would rather just go with something I feel more comfortable with, something I've already proven I can stick with.

"I just couldn't pull off in this context without having to bug the Help Desk every time I wanted to upgrade a move or buy a move."
1 - We have a move creation workshop, where the community members help you out with your moves before the y go into the move approval for final approval.
2 - You need to go to the help desk to get a move approved before you can buy it anyway.
3 - Like Omni said, it is completely possible for this move to exist.
