To Serve and Protect
#1
Cyborg stumbled out of the Nexus gate, feeling faint as he took in the sights of Courscant.

He stares in awe as he looked around at the new city. Skyscrapers littered the skyline as advanced looking cars flew around above their heads. A group of Storm troopers marched by, patrolling the city streets. Cyborg felt comfortable knowing that the police of this world were so active in serving and protecting the citizens of the city.

He wasn't new to advanced technology, after all Cyborg was one giant walking piece of advanced alien tech. The watchtower also held some of the most advanced tech, thanks to the countless alien invasions on earth. Not to mention the other members of the league who brought their own intelligence and tech from their home world. Even so Cyborg stood amazed as he took his first glimpse at Courscant. An entire city filled with the latest advancements in science. It was as if he walked into one large S.T.A.R lab.

"Prime, step over here please" A stormtrooper said, beckoning him closer.

"Sorry, still a little wobbly from the portal. This place is amazing!" He said still looking around at the beautiful city. He felt as if he had just walked into a candy shop for the first time, browsing the walls a pon walls of sweets.

"Yea, I guess its pretty cool" The stormtrooper said in a bored voice. "Well since you're a new Prime thus process shouldn't take too long. Not much information to collect." He said once again, pop ulking out what appeared to be a more advanced tablet. A small projection appeared from the device as the trooper typed away.

" You don't have any concealed weapons do you?" The trooper said finally as he looked Cyborg up and down.

"Uhh , well I have this but its not very leathal." Cyborg said as he transformed his hand into his blaster. He then let his hand return back to his normal state. Next he made it grow Int a large gauntlet as gears shifted and changed to add the parts required to create the large gauntlet. If Cyborg could see the masked trooper's face it would have definitely been impressed at the speedy change of his aresnal of weaponry.

"Mm, that's not something you see everyday." The trooper said continuing to type away. Cyborg couldn't help but smile at the trooper.

"Alright, all set, obviously no using your weapons. Can't really take them from you since their integrated into your person but since you were open about them I'll trust that u know better. Just know that the EPD will crack down on you if you become hostile. Any questions?"

"Oh of course, not going to be any trouble" Cyborg said as he raised his giant metallic hands to show his submissive nature. "I do have one question. Where can I find more information about this place?"

"Library, continue up the street and take a left at  the next block. Its a short distance from there." He said motioning with his hand.

"Thanks, have a good one" Cyborg said. The trooper grunted and nodded as he turned to face the Nexus gate once again. He began to follow the route he was given, still amazed as he looked around the city before him.

Cyborg was surprised that he didn't have the usual gawking and staring as he made his way down the street. He didn't blame those who would stare at him back home. A large walking robot man wasn't something you saw everyday. But here no one paid him any attention. A small black droid zoomed around the street, scooping up trash as it went.

Guess that's why no one is concerned with me Cyborg thought as he watched the small robot continue on its way down the street opposite of him. Cyborg was really starting to enjoy Courscant, he fit in here. Even though he had been with the Justice League for several years, the silent judgmental stares from the citizens never quite went away.

"Woa..." Cyborg gasped as he took in the view of the library. It stood several stories tall and took up a third of the block. Large ivory pillars stood at the façade of the entrance. Other than this notable detail, the building appeared to look just like the rest. With a smile, he walked up the large stone steps and entered through the doors.

The glass doors to the library slid open as Cyborg walked in. Stopping his his tracks he couldn't help but view the large library in awe. He once thought the the library at the Watchtower was extensive but the library of Courscant made the watchtower library look like a small book stand. The walls were filled with thousands of books leading to the top of ten story building. A large staircase led upwards to each of the several floors. An elevator off to left led to each of the floors as well. The floors were made of an obsidian granite that matched perfectly with the ivory pillars that held each floor firmly in place.

The entire first floor had rows of what Cyborg assumed was computers. The high level of technology of Courscant once again impressed him. A disc projected a screen allowing the users to interface with their respective terminals.

"Sir? Can I help you?" Said a woman sitting behind the desk near the front of the library. She peered down at Cyborg confused at why he had been standing in the door way as long as he apparently had.

"Oh sorry, I'm just amazed at the size of this library. I've never seen anything like this before. Our libraries aren't this... Beautiful, back where I come from."

The librarian beamed down at him.

"Ah yes we take great pride in our facility of knowledge" she said flourishing her hands as she motioned to the entirety of the massive library. "So sir how may I help you" she said smiling. She stepped down from her desk and stood closer to the large metal man.

"Well. I'm new to this.... This Omniverse, I want to learn as much as I can about my new home I suppose. So can I use one of the computer terminals?" He said motioning to the many rows terminals

"Oh of course! Let me get you a sign in and assign you a computer. I love when Primes come in here looking for knowledge rather than causing a ruckus. I mean just a month or so ago a long haired man and a man in a red mask came in here and destroyed half the library. Took weeks to clean up!" She said throwing her arms in the air. Cyborg listened attentively, shaking his head in sympathy. It seemed crime's dirty hands infected even the most pristine of places.

The librarian came back down from her desk with a log in sheet and a number.

"Terminal thirty four is open. Take all the time you need. The library doesn't close for another several hours, let me know if there is anything you need." The librarian said. Handing over the paper she returned to her desk and picked up her book she had been reading.

With a nod, Cyborg smiled and walked to his assigned computer.

The groaned under Cyborg's weight as he sat down. Cyborg noticed a USB port, with a smile he raised his finger up to the the port. A thin blue wire came out of his index finger and snaked its way to the port.

As soon as it connected a sharp pain shot up his arm.

"Virus detected" Cyborg's internal computer chimed.

"What the hell?" He said raising his arm. The inboard diagnostics menu projected Cyborg's entire body. The screen flickered a moment before the voice chimed again.

"False alarm"

"Mmm strange" Cyborg said as he lowered his arm and returned his gaze to the projected screen.

Cyborg began quickly began to download everything his system could handle on Courscant.

Cyborg was impressed that this Omniverse had its own internet serve, The Dataverse. He read that other primes had posted their own commentary on the Omniverse. The battle of Death mountain on going in the Ashen Steeppes sounded particularly interesting.

Cyborg wished he had a way of communicating with these other primes.

The orb that Omni had given him in the Nexus suddenly appeared from Cyborg's chest. The colors rapidly changed brightly, as if it were showing it's master it's will to serve him. The constant changing of colors mesmerized Cyborg. A USB stick dropped on the table as the orb dulled and returned to its resting place in his chest.

Cyborg picked up the stick and placed it into his own port into his arm.

"Communication and Uplink device integrated" Cyborg's computer chimed.

"Boo Yah" Cyborg said with a chuckle as he went back to searching the Dataverse.
