On the road again

Video
Thor and Red walked up to the Captain's office to receive their first orders only to find another guard standing out side.

"Captain Vimes isn't here, said he had some business with the king. You the new recruits? Vimes told me to tell you just to patrol the city until further orders come in. If I were you I'd just take a break, that's what I'm doing as soon as the last lot of ya shows up." The guard said lowering his voice and winking. "Well off you go then" he said winking once again.

Red was disappointed that they didn't have more to do than just patrol the city. Such is the life of a guard he thought with a sigh. After the months of training he had expected a lot more from their new jobs.

They ended up at the bar they had first come to when they entered Camelot. Thor went and ordered a couple of drinks as Red found a place for them to sit.

"S'on the house for the new guards" the bar keep said with a smile.

Thor began talking about nothing in particular as Red let his mind wonder, not listening to the rambling about the mead at Asguard. Red summoned the orb watching the colors change.
What to do with you now? Red thought. He began to recall there journey through Courscant  which led them to here after the huge brawl with the corrupt Empire. Knowledge is what he was after and he still didn't have much. Red chuckled to himself as he wondered if the Omniverse had internet he could look more into this. As he thought more of this he realized that this thought wasn't so absurd. After all anything was possible in the Omniverse. He recalled the device he had seen Koal use which reminded him of a cell phone, like the ones they had back home.

Red began to focus on the orb, hoping to bring the device into existence.

After a few minutes of devoted concentration a small black phone appeared on the table. Red greedily picked it up, opening the browser.

A banner that said "welcome to the Dataverse!"  greeted him. Red clicked on the first link called AntiOmni.org and began to read.

After reading for what seemed like an hour he looked up in a painful realization. The article, written by a prime named Nealaphh outlined the corruption that was Omni or "the smiling one" as Nealaphh referred to him as. The smiling one seemed nothing more than a strange deity that ripped people from their homes to entertain him forever in the Omniverse. Nealaphh, along with a few others were set out on bringing justice to this being in the only true way justice could be brought. Death. Nealaphh planned to kill a dragon named Volvagia and its many minions, no doubt in hopes to gain power for his ultimate plan.

Red thought the corruption of the Empire was bad but learning of these events he began to realize the much bigger scale. For once Red found he had purpose in this world he was so forcefully brought to, more than just being a groveling guard for the Kingdom. Red quickly began to retell what he had learned to Thor, in hopes, he would join his new crusade for justice. Thor gulped down the remains of his drink before speaking.

"I sense a battle will take place and for that you have my hammer friend!" Thor yelled smashing his fist on to the table.

"That's great! It will be a long journey but there will be a battle friend" Red said rising from the table. "For now, we make for Death Moutain in the Ashen Steppes".

The two began their journey to the gate they had entered when they had first arrived to Camelot.

As an after thought Red quickly typed up a message to Nealaphh

Better let him know we are coming Red thought.
You can't stop crime. That's what you never understood. I'm controlling it. You wanna rule them by fear, but what do you do with the ones who aren't afraid? I'm doing what you won't, I'm taking them out.

For all his boasts, Thor felt doubt. He responded with a full-hearty boast about him seeking battle, but as his friend turned back to his computer-like devise Thor felt regret. He had believed - no, he had wanted to believe - that this Omniverse was the Valhalla of legend. Thor looked at the back of his friend's crimson helm. He listened to Red read him snipets of this Nealaphh's proposal. The more Thor heard, the more he came to realize the truth of what being said. Thor had wanted to believe that the Omniverse was the Valhalla he was promised. He wanted to believe it was his final reward, but as he thought of the look on the face of the stormtrooper who's helmet he had taken after killing him, Thor knew this was not Valhalla. Thor pulled himself from this darkness with a shake of his head.

"So he thinks that killing this Volvagia's death will aid his cause?" Thor asked

"Sounds like it." Red-Hood noded.

"Then let us make haste." Thor took the Orb from within himself. He looked at it for a moment, then at Red. "My people use horses or flying machines to travel. A horse seems to slow and my skill with flying machines is lacking in finesse. Can you summon something of adequate power?"

Red smiled behind his crimson mask.

"I can think of some think, let's get to the steppes first. The walk through the Nexus isn't far, only a couple of hours. Don't want to waste to much energy on what I've got planned, unless your tired big guy." Red said poking Thor in the ribs as they walked.

Red thought of the jet Batman always used. Dubbed the "Batplane" by the pretentious caped crusader himself. Red always thought the names Bruce came up with for his vehicles were stupid, always having "Bat" in front of them. The jet would be perfect for them however. It was decently fast and could fit Red and his companion easily. Definitely would get them to Death Mountain faster than any land vehicle would.

Red relished in the idea of their upcoming journey and destination. To meet other primes like themselves filled Red with anticipation. This Nealaphh seemed particularly powerful and would be a great ally. Provided they succeed with their daunting task.

Red had never seen a dragon, given that they were myths where he came from. But he had read of their mythological fierceness and having to face a live fire breathing behemoth worried Red. He hoped more primes would answer Nealaphh's call for help.
