Just tread lightly. Bringing real world racism and topics into writing can be iffy.

Here are the reasons why I think Orcs face racism and injustice in the Omniverse:

Camelot verse description:

Unfortunately, there is still a strong prejudice against non-humans in many of the outlying areas. This resulted in a lot of victimization in the aftermath of the War with Diablo. Those victims formed their own settlements and raided human towns in retaliation, which only served to escalate the cycle of hatred. While the central government has been proactive with stopping the violence, tensions remain high.

Even among human villages there has been some tension. Many cultures have founded their own 'fiefdoms' to maintain their cultural identity, such as those led by Date Masamune, the six-sword wielding samurai.

A:  You can find more of the background on it if you read Aragorn’s backstory.  Essentially, Camelot’s original inhabitants were a ‘rough, hardy, and grizzled bunch’, much like the citizens of Darkshire.  Early Camelot was a rough place even before Diablo arrived.  When the ‘non-humans’ came, there was some distrust simply because of how Aragorn had already been betrayed (his words) by Palpatine.  When the ‘non-humans’ started to leave the Kingdom, the ‘native’ citizens of Camelot took this as a betrayal and a stab-in-the-back.  Why did they leave?  Please be aware that the reality is muddled—its who you ask.  Lots of politics.  Either way, this perceived ‘betrayal’ left a deep rift between the human citizens of Camelot and the non-humans who remained.

A:  Minas Tirith and Dalaran are cosmopolitan cities where populations of humans and nonhumans live in the same neighborhoods.  Outside of their sphere, you have virtually no heterogenous populations.   

Reason why I wanted to flesh it out was simply to add fuel to the fire with Garrosh.

Garrosh Bio:

Once he arrived, Garrosh expected a warrior's welcome. But he was disappointed to find that, not only did the orcs not know who he was, but orcs were considered a lesser and barbaric race by others. He saw a race of orcs too cowardly to face true threats, instead resorting to squabbling with each other for petty dominance. His pride stung, Garrosh took it upon himself to unite the small orcish tribes of the Green and to build a new Horde. And this time, he would learn from his mistakes of trusting foreign races - the treacherous trolls and the like. He would make a Horde of warrior orcs, the likes of which the Omniverse had never seen.

Nobody's saying that IC the Orcs don't have valid reasons to feel angry or persecuted, or that you can't write stories about that. I think the problem people are having here - I know its something I've been tripping over a little - is that you seem to be trying to draw a direct parallel between fantasy racism and some of the heinous crap going on right now in real-world America; a swirling powderkeg of suspicion, justified anger, defensiveness, helplessness, self-righteousness, systematized victimization and knee-jerk unthinking rage. You're tapping a pretty deep, dark well - which can make for great writing if handled well... but can also feel like you're shouting at your reader.

Is there racism in Camelot? Hell yeah. I've included it in my own writing. But by naming this thread what you did, just by way of an example, you immediately made everyone who's ever written the death of an orc feel weird, which made people question your ability to carry this off tastefully - and thereby hangs a very long chatbox discussion.
