Alt. Character Test ( Just an Idea.)
#1
Character name: Malthael, The Angel of Death

Character source: Diablo III: Reaper of Souls

Character history:

"Much uncertainty surrounds the archangel Malthael. Once the calm guiding hand of wisdom, he was lost to us the moment the Worldstone disappeared. Unable to fathom that catastrophic event, he abandoned Heaven. His departure created a colossal fracture within the council, one that, to this day, remains unrepaired."
— Selathiel, writing on Malthael

The Archangel was lost. He searched and searched, consulting everything he knew and his gaze spanning the breadth of creation. Yet the Worldstone remained unknown to him. Stolen By Inarius and the demon, Lilith, the worldstone seemed to have taken away his sanity. His mind seemed to only focus on one thing, the Worldstone. Once a revered and highly respected member of the Angiris Council, his presence now chilled everyone he came into contact with, his very presence bringing thoughts of death to the forefront of the mind.

And after the destruction of the worldstone by Tyrael, the Aspect of wisdom disappeared completely. Rumors floated around, but no definitive answers were known to the angels of the High Heavens. The now titled, Angel of Death, lurked in the abandoned halls of the Fortress of Pandemonia, where he imprisoned and used the power of human souls to fuel his power. He continued for many moons to act out his plans in secret, and his following grew larger every day. Many angels pledged themselves to Malthael's service, seeing the corruption of humanity and the need to eradicate it.

Malthael saw his chance for victory in the Black Soulstone, a construct forged by the mage Zoltun Kulle, to hold the souls of demons, preventing them from finding another form to wreak havoc with. And more importantly, allowing the individual that possessed the stone tap into the power of the demons that lay within. After the defeat and capture of the Prime Evil, Diablo, Tyrael and the newly-formed Horadrim stole the Soulstone away from the High Heavens, seeking to hide the power and corruption of Diablo, away from those who would use its power for evil.

Seeing his chance, Malthael slew the Horadrim members, but seeing Tyrael had no demonic taint in him, spared the Aspect of Wisdom's life. Taking the soul stone for himself, he planned to use the stone to eradicate the world of the evil demonic taint. The humans.

His plan was almost finished, but the nephalem was here, here to kill him. Malthael was confident in his own abilities, but his was a foe to be wary of. It had single-handedly defeated the accumulation of the Lords of the Burning Hells. A feat never accomplished, not by any of the many beings existence. He was in for the fight of his life, but the former archangel wasn't worried in the slightest. After all, death is unending.

The battle was fierce, and Malthael was forced to desperate measures. He summoned the Black Soulstone to him, and devoured the power that lay within. But the nephalem prevailed. He was powerless to stop the madness that unfolded afterwards. His body was drawn tight as all the souls he had devoured erupted from his form, his body slowly deteriorating into nothing as his power was drained. His plans had failed. He had failed.

And then all was gone.

Twin Sickles of Death (Cost 300)
His primary weapon, these sickle-like shotels are different than the traditional representation of death. Intricately carved with embellishments and designs, these are not just for show. Wickedly sharp and very useful for quick attacks, they are only useful if the opponent is within arms reach (about four or five feet away from Malthael.).

The world was dark, a murky black color that seemed to hold no end, yet Malthael could sense he wasn't lifeless. Gathering his will-power, The Angel of Death cast his gaze around him, investigating his surroundings with a precision only achievable through several lifetimes of vigilance. The tall, gaunt figure moved to step forward, only to find that his body would not obey his instruction. As he attempted over and over without success to move his body, a clear voice chime out over the eternal silence.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

The former Aspect of Wisdom cocked his head at a slight angle. His faceless hood stared at the white figure, that gazed back with a moronic grin plastered to his featureless face. The Fallen utilized this opportunity to scrutinize this character closely, to try and classify and distinguish features this man may or may not possess The white figure's arms seemed to cradle something, and as he opened his hands, he began to vocalize again.

Quote: “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

The brilliant orb levitated just above the surface of The deity's skin, pulsating with an internal light and hummed with power. Malthael extended his claw-like hand to the small nova, willing the orb to come within his grasp. The small sun coalesced into a crystalline structure before hovering to the Angel's fingertips. The tall figure inspected the crystal, even whilst the mysterious man spoke.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

Malthael's head snapped up from his deliberations. There were others here? His logic answered the inquiry before the other answered them. Of course, separate life-forms existed here, he would not, could not, be the only thing that fascinated this deity. A life without end has its pros, but after a large interval of time, the cons start to get increasingly copious.

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Malthael's vision began to go dark once more, and the last thing he caught a glimpse of was a smile...
