Desco smiled to Ururu and nodded. Ururu's plan had worked out just fine. Desco made the right decision, it was probably what Valzy would do. He would fulfill every promise made. There will be other ways to gain power besides some artifact. In the end Desco didn't care so much about the artifact and the quest. It all felt too heroic from the start. Desco was concerned though, as she watched Ururu exhcange with the Spirit. But before Desco could do anything she was falling away.

“It’s pretty nifty,” Mickey nodded, “I’m sure she’s furious at me though. It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen her—that’s why I’ve gotta get back to the Clubhouse. She told me to check in but I haven’t in quite a while. She’s gotta be so mad.”

“Well, at least you’re worried,” the redheaded girl shrugged, “Wow. Mickey and Minnie Mouse, just walking around this place. What the hell?”

“Yeah, it’s nice to have us both here,” he agreed. “But we’re not long for this place.”

Belle quirked an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

“Oh, I’m getting out of here as fast as I can,” Mickey furrowed his brow, “I don’t like it in the Omniverse—and my kingdom’s in trouble. I gotta get back and help defeat the Heartless.” For a moment, Belle’s face scrunched up in frustration. She didn’t remember Mickey ruling a kingdom in any of the cartoons she’d watched. Then a flash of recognition came over her.

“Oh shit,” she exclaimed, “You’re—”

She stopped, biting her lip. Mickey glared at her for a second, but she kept her thoughts to herself and quickly changed the subject.

“Uh, yeah,” she swerved, “Come visit me sometime.”

“I’ll try,” the mouse promised, “but people up in Coruscant don’t really like me or Minnie, so it’ll be hard to get to you, probably.”

Belle raised an eyebrow quizzically.

“The Empire,” the King clarified, “Minnie said they put out a wanted notice on us after I wrestled her free from some bad guys that hang out in Coruscant. I beat ‘em up a little bit, they got mad, now they want to throw us in the slammer. They’re pretty nasty people.” The mouse’s lips drooped into a scowl. He didn’t like thinking about the Empire. He honestly had no desire to visit Coruscant ever again—well, besides seeing Belle.

“Oh!” she hit her forehead, realizing, “That’s why Kopaka was after you.”

“Yep,” the mouse nodded.

The redhead who he’d just sort of accidentally run into while wandering around Teucer’s temple had turned out to be a much better companion than Mickey could’ve ever dreamed of. Certainly, she reminded him of Erza, but the relationship they’d forged on the island was remarkably different than the one he’d made with the swordswoman.

Belle was strong, ferocious—all adjectives that could be attributed to his ally from Dante’s Abyss, but in a different way. He couldn’t describe what about Belle made her so interesting to him, but nothing had affected him the way seeing her body, helpless and broken, had. And somehow, they had managed to stick it through to the end—where all of his friends in Dante’s Abyss had fallen, Belle and Blues had managed to stay by his side from the start to finish.

Speaking of the preteen machine, he glanced up at the temple, where Blues had gone just moments ago to return the relics to Teucer. He didn’t know what could be taking so long.

He supposed Teucer had proven that he was not a man of few words. After all, he had written an entire survival guide for the mouse. Whimsically, Mickey pulled the rolled up, ripped up, pretty much destroyed copy of Play, Boy out of his back pocket and flipped through the pages one last time. Would the magazine travel with him back to the Omniverse proper? Or would it remain forever on the island, ready for the next traveller who needed its wise words?

“So… how are you gonna get out of here?” Belle broke into his thoughts.

“Hm?” Mickey said, shaking off thoughts of Play, Boy and of Blues and Teucer’s meeting and returning to the teenage girl, “I dunno yet. But I’m gonna.”

“Well,” she crossed her arms, “Hopefully we’ll meet again before you do.”

“Yeah,” Mickey smiled, “I sure hope—”

But his words were cut off by a bright flash of white light. Belle and the other primes surrounding them disappeared into nothingness, and he fell. The last thing he saw of the island was a lightly-armored woman on the cover of Play, Boy, winking at him while touching herself on...

Oh, no.

The Hero was finally free.

The combined efforts of the final Champions had ensured Teucer’s freedom, securing the final relic from the remaining opposition. Only one of the enemy warriors had survived the encounter, the other falling by Kakashi’s hand. Though he had hoped to put an end to the strife, he had once more been forced to spill blood for the ‘greater good’. Such was the life of a shinobi. He could only hope that he had not tarnished Teucer’s temple or thrown gloom over his eternal rest.

As they sat upon the marble steps of the temple, Kakashi’s thoughts wandered to Mokugakure. It reminded him so much of the Konoha of his childhood, with its palpable tension and constant state of alert. He had decided, perhaps without consciously realizing, that he would be the one to bring peace to the Village. No longer would political espionage be the norm, nor would attacks by horrendous beasts be something to be endured. If he really was destined to become Hokage in some other time, some other dimension, perhaps it would not be impossible to serve Moku in the same way. With Minato at his side, he had little doubt that they could bring some sort of stability to the village.

As light engulfed the two champions, the scarecrow wondered what his future would hold. Though his intentions were honorable, he didn’t even know how to start his quest. He could only compare his past experiences and assignments. What atrocities would he commit in order to bring peace to the village? Who would he wrong, who would need to pay a price? Truly, he didn’t know.

“I'll see you back in the Omniverse.”

His sensei faded from view, flickering in a dazzling display of luminescence. Kakashi could only hope that Omni’s trickery did not pull him away from his former teacher. Between the two of them, they were the best hope Mokugakure that had. And truthfully, best hope that he had.

Kakashi closed his eyes as the brilliant light engulfed him and he fell.

Everything became hushed as they observed the Temple from afar, waiting with baited breath for the last warning sign, the last fateful choice, or something else entirely. The jungle was shady and humid around them, birds and insects chirruping in the warm midday air.

Well, that debatably could have been one of the most underwhelming things to ever happen to Crowley. At least he wasn’t going to be made to stay on this island much longer— a fat lot of good he had done there, eh? It really was too bad about Magus not making it to the end, his own inability to do what it took to win, and being prevented from securing some farcical ultimate reward by a group of peaceful pansies, but in any case he would be allowed to leave. At least, he would whenever that robot kid was finished with whatever business he had to settle with Teucer.

A few of those standing around him spoke to one another. Crowley felt like the odd man out, not a soul to find common ground with or to complain at. As a result, he simply stood there, the distant hum of crickets and a numbing, unspeakably quiet feeling settling into his bones.

Suddenly, he was detached, sort of, and everything was greying and fading messily out like a rainy silent movie. The temple parapets smeared and washed away in the distance, polished marble pillars tugged into nothingness by unbridled waves of ineffability. An invisible tide rose and steadfastly refused to descend, humming an ancient, gently sloping refrain over the last vestiges of land clinging to existence.

“Hey, wait!” Crowley cried, clearly not ready to leave just yet. He fought and pulled against the gentle forces attempting to coddle him back to the Nexus grounds, limbs swinging wildly about and his teeth bared in a grimace. But it was too late, now— the dubstep gun had been left behind, a few loose, unhappy wubs trailing after him as the demon fell.

The last thing he saw was a worn smile spread across the Spirit’s smurfy blue face, a pale crescent moon cut against the distant glimmer of stars and swiftly dwindling stone.

At last.

Quote:The rest of Koren's time in the Hero's Graveyard from Day 1 Evening until he died was rather uneventful. Suffice it to say, he spent a whole lot of time sitting around and either hunting or inspecting the area round him.

Day 1 Evening:

After escaping the areas which had now become completely swamped with water, Koren found himself felling quite strange. It felt as though a pit had opened up inside of him, and it was creating a vacuum that was sucking on his organs so hard that it was leaving a lasting pain. Koren realized what it was, but was completely bamboozled as to why he was experiencing the sensation. Hunger. The Adorned Armor had never felt hungry or thirsty before, let alone most things that humans felt. Back in his sword form, he'd had no organs, and thus no need to eat nor drink, yet this was very puzzling. Puzzling indeed.

Koren settled for what he'd seen very primitive humans do in many universes at the beginnings of their time on their respective planets. Hunt. He set off towards a slightly more densely forested area, hoping there would be some critters here he could make a meal out of. He scoured the trees overhead, as well as the bushes below for any signs of life and found none. Disappointed and starving, Koren decided to sit down in a bush for a while and wait.

Koren woke up to the sound of quiet, nearby trotting and his eyes slammed open. He licked his lips involuntarily and slowly moved into a position from where he could see out of the bush and stalk his prey. He peeked through a small hole and saw a large deer standing in a small clearing in the trees.

Finally! he thought, excited by the prospect of getting rid of the pain in his stomach. My luck seems to have changed for the better!

Koren waited for it to draw near, then sprang out of the bush with a wild look in his eyes and a crazed look on his face and swung his plank of wood. It struck the poor animal right on the side of the head, causing a small bit of blood to spurt out of its mouth. Koren swung for the front legs, and hit, causing the innocent creature to crumple to the ground.  Koren snapped its neck quickly, ending its torture.

I should at least remain honorable as much as I can.

Koren ripped open the carcass of the deer and began pulling out portions of meat from the body, quickly and conservatively de-boning the chunks before sending them slithering down his throat, disgusted at the flavor and texture of the sustenance. He shivered and continued, thankful that it was, at the very least, easing up the pain in his insides.

Note to self, NEVER INGEST FOODSTUFFS AGAIN!

Koren got back to his feet and took a few minutes to scout the area before continuing on his path to the south, hoping he'd find something soon.

Quote:Day 2:
After walking to the south for a bit and not finding much, Koren decided to take a break at sundown and head to sleep. He lay down and closed his eyes, the darkness closing in and sending him off to a dreamless sleep.

He awoke with a start to find the ground beneath him shaking violently. Koren picked himself up and scanned the horizon, searching for and end to the shaking area. Not too far away, Koren could see the edge of the unsteady ground and he ran as fast as he possibly could. Within no time, he made it off of the shaking ground, and stopped, panting, but he didn't notice the figure standing not too far away.

Quote:After F2F:
Koren stumbled back and fell onto his back, yelling and gritting his teeth at the pain erupting from his chest. That boy.... Koren didn't know what he was, but the young man had wielded a very powerful weapon. Koren waited until he'd settled down and then sat up, his mind deep in thought.

I must have drawn a very short stick if others have weapons of that magnitude and I have a simple block of flooring. If I was one of the only ones here who actually recognized Teucer, then how come I got the most useless weapon?!

Koren turned around and looked behind him just in time to see the shaking part of the island split and drop into what seemed like a pit, that, a few moments earlier, would have been perceived as water.

Oh boy, what dimension have I gotten myself into this time.

Koren sighed. He was injured, but at least he was safe.

The Adorned Armor spent the rest of the day hunting and constantly scanning the nearby area for potential enemies.  But at the end of the day, he simply went to sleep, his body exhausted from the strenuous activities of the day.

He woke up just in time to fell the ground fall away beneath him, and then, the air rushing past him as he fell into the abyss.

All of a sudden, Koren could see the Temple around him, but it felt strange, distant even, as though he wasn't even there.

Teucer appeared momentarily and made clear his disappointment to Koren, before disappearing. Then, the scene around Koren turned completely white and another voice spoke out to him, this one new.

Quote:"Before you go, this is mine!"
Koren flinched at the sudden prick in his finger and a small trail of blood flew out before being grabbed by the hand of a purple-colored humanoid figure, although Koren couldn't quite make out any details.

After this, Koren felt his body shifting, along with the familiar feeling of teleportation as he fell through the white abyss.
