Home?
#1
“Now go home Link. Regain your lost time! Home.. where you’re supposed to be.. the way you are supposed to be..”

Link sat up, his head spinning and weary. What had happened to him? The last memory he had was of Zelda and her lullaby. She had brought the Ocarina of Time to her lips and played the same delicate notes he had heard many times before and longed to hear once again. The magic intertwined with the notes, coupled with Zelda’s standing as a Sage, flung the Hylian through time.

The Hero of Time saw many things as he twisted through the avenues of time, hardly able to focus on a single moment as he fell back towards his child self. One image stuck with him, something he found himself unable to explain nor comprehend. His thoughts lingered until a sudden jolt ceased his apparent fall.

Link took stock of his new surroundings; this wasn’t the Forest he had expected to awaken in once more. The sheer emptiness, the blank void and pitch black dragged his suspicions away from the Temple of Light, his next assumption.

Quote:“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

The Hero of Time attempted to utter a single word, only to find silence. His brow furrowed as he peered towards the silhouette.

Quote:“This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.

Link glanced down at the glimmering orb and back to the silhouette, perplexity ever present across his features.

Quote:“You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn.

The boy’s mind swam, unanswered questions brimmed, falling silent as the silhouette ended it’s introduction.

Quote:“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

A harmonious pitter-patter of water upon water roused the boy. The stark contrast of light and dark strained his eyes for a moment, the Hylian brought a hand upwards in an attempt to remedy the issue, only to find it provided little solace from the brilliant white surroundings. And then he heard it, perhaps the most welcomed sound since Zelda’s lullaby.

“Hey!” the shrill cry erupted from the incandescent ball, flittering about Link’s head, “Get up!” Link grumbled quietly as pushed himself to his feet, eying the Fairy that hovered around his shoulders. He began patting himself down, checking that his former effects were still in place. To his dismay, however, all he found was his sword, shield and bow and quiver, filled with arrows. Enough to defend himself, should it be needed, at least.

“So.. what is this place?” Link croaked, after a while. His fairy companion merely buzzed around in response, no doubt as confused as Link himself, “Maybe there’s someone nearby.. someone who actually knows what’s going on…”

The Hylian took a pair of shaky steps forwards, his gaze drawn upwards upon the fountain. He soon found his legs and rounded the fountain, warily. Not a soul in sight. The boy and his fairy found themselves alone.

“How did you get here, anyhow?” Link questioned the fairy, Navi. The fairy gave nothing in response for a moment, until Link began to walk. “Well, uh, I woke up as you sat up.. that’s all I know.” Navi replied, hovering close by Link’s head.

“It did say something about anything I desire...” he muttered under his breath, peering over at his guardian, “Which way, then?” The pair turned a full circle so as to scope out their surroundings, finding nothing but white upon white, with an occasional break in the distance. Link raised a gloved hand, pointing towards one of the dots on the horizon. “Looks like our best bet, don’t you think? How far away is that?” he questioned the winged, glowing ball. “Quite a way.. it would take a while to walk. Would your Ocarina work? I’m sure we could use Epona to get there quicker-” Navi spoke, cut short by the Hylian’s interjection, “I don’t have it. But that Omni said something about desiring something and I’ll find it.” he shrugged, “Any ideas?”

“Sing her song.” The fairy spoke, short and to the point. Link turned to face his companion once again, perplexed, “What?”

“Sing her song. Concentrate on her and sing her song.”
