The arrival of the Noah, part 1
#1
Kanda was sitting in the crowd, watching match after match unfold. Each battle more strange than the last. So many powerful primes resided within the Omniverse, he felt overwhelmed. There were many strange creatures around, some of them looked like monsters, creatures he never knew existed. Vile creatures who have no place, here or anywhere else. This is why exorcists exist, to rid the world of these kind of abominations. His hands were folded, covering his mouth, the exorcist eyes were lost in thought, not really paying attention to what was going on in the arena. Birgitta who was keeping him company on orders from Guu went to get a refreshment, yet he never noticed her leaving, he was trapped in his own little world.

"Pretty exciting stuff don't you think? " A strange voice emerged from the seat next to him, where Birgitta was previously sitting. It broke Kanda's train of thought and annoyed he turned towards the unknown voice next to him. An odd looking male with round reflecting glasses was sitting with a smile on his face and a cigarette in his mouth. His shaggy hair made him look even more common than his first impression would suggest.

" Tsk, and who might you be?" Kanda already took a dislike in the man, his stupid grin, the tone of his voice, everything about him made the young exorcist feel cold on the inside.

" Ow just another spectator to the show. I must say I rather enjoyed your match. Haven't had an exorcist here before, you must be new ?" The stranger continued to inquire.

"New? Not really, it's my first and my last time in this place though. Now if you don't mind." He turned away facing the battlegrounds once more, clearly not interested in what the man had to say.

"Don't be like that Mr. exorcist, who knows what you might find here next time ? Then again, allot can happen between now and then." The implication within his tone didn't sit well with Kanda, yet he chose to ignore it, hoping to get rid of the man he chose not to reply. The stranger walked behind the swordsman and bend through his knees, his voice changed to a more serious tone and whispered, "So you claim you are an exorcist,..-if that's true, why haven't you dealt with the Noah roaming around in the Pale Moors ?"

Kanda's eyes opened wider when the word 'Noah' reached his ear, he quickly turned around with a million questions on his mind, but when he turned to face the whispers the man was gone. Kanda stood up and looked around, searching for the strange individual. The only thing he found was Birgitta making her way back to her seat.

"Why are you looking at me like that ? Sit down and watch the rest of the fight." The young woman said while getting to her seat.

"What is the Pale Moors ? how do I get there ?" the exorcist hastily asked his companion right before she was about to get seated.

"There is a portal somewhere in Camelot, or you can always take the one in the nexus. Why do you ask ?" Without getting an answer, Birgitta saw Kanda turn around and exiting the stands in a hurry. Dropping her snacks she swiftly got back up to follow him.

'Who was that fool ? how did he know of the Noah ? If there was only a shred of truth to these claims I have to see for myself within the Pale Moors. If they Noah are here, there might be trouble brewing.' Kanda's thoughts were guiding him, they helped him completely zone out the voice of Birgitta who was clueless of what he was doing.

Once outside the coliseum the troubled exorcist took a small break and turned around towards Birgitta. "Look, it seems something from my own world has followed me here, something ancient and evil, A Noah. Where I come from, they commanded a legion of Akuma to destroy mankind. If there is one of them here i am obligated to stop them and eradicate them from this world." Birgitta hasn't heard Kanda speak this serious before, as if speaking to a professional, no emotion, no doubt. Just a mission, a goal which he needed to achieve. The chaperone got Goosebumps listening to the man, the explanation he gave about the Noah clan gave her chills, such horrible history of terror they have created.

"What will you have me do ?" She asked humble.

"Go to Ambrosia, inform Guu of what happened. Make sure she understands the thread which we face, if this is true. I will report in once I get more intelligence on the matter. This is serious Birgitta, if the Akuma are here, not even Ambrosia is safe." His words struck fear in Birgitta's heart, she simply nodded in response.
Kanda nodded in return before getting onto his horse, "Be safe Birgitta, we will meet each other again once I return. "

The horse took off with great speed, following the same road they followed to get here. He was on his way back to the portal that leads to the Nexus.

*****

The travel back went quicker, many things went through his mind. He was wondering if he was the only exorcist here, maybe there were more. Perhaps there was a way to recruit more primes to face the Noah, if they actually exist. He stepped down from his horse and took out his dataverse device, thanks to Birgitta he actually knew how to use this thing. He stood in front of the gate while he was placing his call to arms for his fellow exorcist on the dataverse. This was the quickest way to reach out to any of them. And if he was the only one, well, he would just have to take them all down himself.

His step into the portal was one with conviction and purpose. Next stop, the Pale Moors.

The gigantic arena slowly began to shrink behind Dante as he paced away from the structure. Assuming that large city off in the distance was Minas Tirith, then the gate would have to be somewhere due south- which would call for a lot of walking. The devil hunter sighed in resignation at the ensuing prospect, continuing down the roughly-laid dirt path. At least, indeed, there was a highway to travel upon in order to easily get to where he was going.

While there was an excess of time to kill, however, Dante figured to try and do some business as he went. He pulled out the digital device he had received all the way back in Coruscant, attempting to fiddle with it some more. While he had first managed to obtain some better inkling of its workings back when the red-coat even discovered the local Camelot Tournament, that vague knowledge still proved to be a far cry from being able to reliably use it. Fifteen minutes, half a mile, and several frustrating advertisements later, the mercenary started to discover what he had been searching for on the Dataverse.

What information Dante had been given on the Pale Moors was somewhat paltry at best, but the information superhighway could surely offer more. Unfortunately, that relied on people actually willing to stay and experience the Pale Moors long enough to say anything more than, "It's a dark, scary, and hopeless place, don't go there."

Apparently, there was a relatively stable town known as Darkshire some few miles beyond the gates. However, that stability was in comparison to the ruin and overwhelm of the other towns and outposts in the Moors; so, ultimately, just barely hanging by a thread. There was also Silent Hill, a foggy town that you should definitely never go to whatsoever unless you want to suffer horrifying eternal trauma. And then, of course, was the few forts and castles deeper in the Verse occupied by the castes of demons and monsters serving 'Count Dracula'.

Overall, not much hopeful stuff to offer. One could argue it was beyond saving, another would insist that those people in Darkshire were begging for a savior. For a world that seemed almost like the primeval state of Dante's own Earth, Dante himself wasn't sure what he could provide, being so much more restricted here. That last bastion of civilization was, of course, looking for anyone that could join their military ranks, but Dante would be damned in hell if he was going to submit to any superior officer.

Surely, just popping in to kill a few monsters or so wouldn't hurt any. That would probably help the nephilim get his mojo back at least, so he could start seriously pursuing those greater demons as a profession in the Omniverse- Oh, no, wait, what was this? Someone was looking for any other exorcists to aid one on a small crusade into the Moors?

Now, maybe that was something worth looking into, as a devil hunter.

Time elapsed - Dante might say it was an hour or two, but he couldn't really tell - and in due pace, the devil hunter found himself approaching a large portal in the distance. Surrounding the stone archway was a small plaza of dirt and monoliths, as grimly-toned as the gate thanks to the shadows of sunset hanging in the space.

The half-blood steeled himself for whatever individual that was there standing by the gate, seeming to be waiting expectantly astride a saddled horse. Was this a guard? It didn't seem like it, considering there was only the one man (woman? it was hard to tell, with the hair) stationed there. Dante tossed his head, throwing the faded white bangs from his eyes in expectation. Friend or foe alike, this person was on his path, and he was about to meet them head-on.

Kanda stood in front of the gate collecting his thoughts, which were all over the place now that he has learned his old enemy has emerged within this world as well. The exorcist was so far gone he didn't even notice someone was approaching from behind. His train of memories was disturbed when a strange new voice spoke from behind him.

"Excuse me, miss?"

Immediately a vein on his forehead was on the verge of bursting. Did someone just referred to him as a woman ?! Annoyed as he was he turned around, saw white hair in the flash he turned and started shouting at what he thought was an old familiar face.

"Damn you bean sprout, are you trying to get on my nerves ?! I will cut you where you stand !"

It took him a moment to realize that the person he was shouting at wasn't Allen Walker, but someone he never met before. Even though the hair was very similar it wasn't Allen. Dante was standing there a bit confused as to what just happened, not only was the person he first perceived as a woman not even female, he also had quite the temper. The swordsman and half demon stared at each other during this awkward moment.

"Wait I recognize you. You were in the tournament weren't you ? I was observing your match from the stance"

The gunslinger didn't like being reminded of the fact he lost his death match against Magus. The battle was fierce, he gave everything he had, but it wasn't enough.

"Yes i was. It was a shameful defeat." Was the only response he gave the exorcist."

Being reminded of his own defeat within the theatre of violence, Kanda quickly brushed it away, "Tsh, that tournament was bullshit anyway. No battle ever happens in a controlled environment like that. So what brings you out here ?"

"I overheard someone near the stands of the coliseum. It seems there is some kind of a demon problem in the Pale moors, something i have some experience in. I decided to travel there myself, perhaps even find this exorcist guy she was referring to.

Kanda's ears took in the information and realized the white haired hunter must have overheard Birgitta talk to someone back at the coliseum.

"Demons hm ? Are you an exorcist yourself ?"

" Not exactly, i just hunt the fuckers, a demon hunter."

This was a term Kanda wasn't familiar with, to his knowledge only exorcists were able to stand against akuma. Only innocence could protect one from the curse they carry in their blood. But this place has shown him allot more strange things, perhaps this demon hunter was for real. And if the Noah were here he could use all the help he can get.

" I see, well I am the exorcist heading to the pale moors that you heard about. And if you are truly a demon hunter as you say you are I could really use some backup."

The words seemed to take Dante by surprise, he didn't expect to find him this easy, he didn't really look like whatever picture Dante had in mind.

"Obviously i cannot decline an invitation to slaughter demons. It has been too long " The hunter said with a smile on his face. Kanda still wasn't too sure about this guy, he would keep an eye on him.

"It is settled then. I will fill you in on the way to the Moors, we still have a way to travel through the Nexus." Kanda turned back towards the gate and stepped through, with Dante following behind him.
