Concerns regarding Underverse & the questline
#81
I'm clearly not the only one that thought that Stephan.

Not that this option isn't nigh-impossible, but... for a large group, wouldn't beating diablo himself in combat work as a reasonably difficult challenge? At least as the endpoint to a much larger quest.
It'd be the hardest way to get out but the easiest to do in-character for good-aligned players.
Fighting diablo for the keys, so to speak, would be nigh impossible, obviously, but I imagine it'd make for a very awesome roleplay experience just to try.

Diablo is the most powerful thing in the Omniverse, near equal to Omni himself. Nobody, including the most powerful Prime NPC's scattered about verses, would stand a chance in combat. It's like comparing a Tick to a T-Rex.

What about THE Tick? He could probably beat Diablo.

In the end, it's all about "impressing" him. Maybe being ballsy enough to TRY to kill him would be enough for that.

Omni Wrote:Not at all! It's fun to discuss ways of improving things and future plans. Just as long as people realise that we are nowhere near in need of changing this quest. If in the future things get problematic, we can look at what didn't work in practice, what gave people the most problems, et cetera.
Its going to get problematic in about 3 rounds considering whats now going down.

I do like this idea, since your character is meant to die a metric ton in the Underverse, you could at least make those deaths the slight bit honorable by going up against Diablo, yes?

Beating him, that's an entirely different story, but certainly coming back every single death your character would endure, time after time, trying to defeat what seems to be a god is definitely something Diablo might deem memorable and entertaining enough to give you the boot.

That, and I wouldn't mind writing over 20,000 words on something cool like that :balls:

If Dark Souls has taught me anything it's that even the weakest individuals can defeat the strongest opponents through persistence. You're a Prime: you'll keep coming back to him, time and time again. He might kill you hundreds, thousands of times, but he can't get rid of you forever, and he's bound to screw up sometime. Long enough for you to get in a hit of your own. Not to mention, you grow stronger every moment thanks to all the sweet OM you're earning Big Grin

He also gains OM. And in far greater amounts thanks to owning an entire verse :p And he'd also come back after death.
