Character name: Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden
Character source: The Dresden Files
Character history: Harry's childhood was, to use the simplest explanation, messed up. In what must have been some sort of universal joke, his birthday is on Halloween. His mother, Margaret "LeFay" McCoy, died in childbirth, and he spent the first six years of his life ignorant of his latent magic and the world his mother had lived in, travelling with his stage-magician father, Malcom Dresden. At the age of six, Malcom died of a brain aneurysm, leaving Harry an orphan. Shortly after manifesting his powers during a school track event at age 10, he was adopted by Justin DuMorne, an abusive man who taught Harry much of his magic before attempting to enthrall both him and his fellow adoptee and girlfriend, Elaine. Harry escaped alone, facing down the Outsider, He Who Walks Behind, and seeking out the help of the Leanansidhe. He made a deal with the Leanansidhe for enough power to kill DuMorne, faced down his mentor, and killed him, stealing the spirit of knowledge that the man possessed.
Shortly after he was found by the White Council of Wizards and put on trial for breaking the First Law of Magic; Do not kill by the use of magic. Found guilty, he was placed under the care of Ebenezar McCoy on a sort of probation, called the Doom of Damocles. The terms ran thus; should he break another Law of Magic, both he and McCoy would die. Ebenezar took Harry out to his farm and taught him things more important than magic, like patience and hard work. After some time getting his act together under McCoy's tutelage, he gained full membership in the Council, removing the death penalty from Ebenezar's head, though not his own. After some time spent travelling the country, he settled in Chicago, Illinois. He spent three years in the employ of Nick Christian, the private detective running Ragged Angel Investigations, before getting his P.I. license and opening his own detective business.
((Several events follow, and much of my explanation would be spoiler-tastic. In lieu of ruining the books, I'll leave a link to Harry's Wiki page. But beware. He who increaseth knowledge, increaseth sorrow. Spoilers, mate. Suffice it to say he's being taken from the end of the book Changes.))

((I plan to purchase more of Harry's spells once I get more OM. Until then, these three items are what he's got.))
Wizard's Staff (300): This is one of Harry's primary tools. In addition to being used for magic spells, it's decent at being used to whack people upside the head.
Blasting Rod (300): Harry's second tool, this foot-long, rune-carved rod of ash smells lightly of wood smoke. Its main purpose is to channel the power of fire, through the incantation Fuego. This spell fires a blast of flame two feet wide out to a distance of ten feet. Harry doesn't have much control over the flame; it acts like natural fire when the magic propelling it runs out.
Shield Bracelet (300): The last of the tools Harry had on him when he was pulled into the Omniverse, his bracelet needs no incantation, instead working on pure will. The five shields, made of various metals, focus Harry's willpower into a protective shield. The nature of the Omniverse has limited it to a disk with three feet in diameter.
Writing example: From Bleach: End Point. My account there is Felix Weiss.
As if on cue, Felix's day got a lot more complicated just a couple minutes after he finished his pie. At least the universe had the mercy to wait before trying to screw him over. He sat upright, face going blank as he made the mental switch to the Hellhound persona, taking care not to let emotion show through. The icy stare caused a person in front of him to walk just a little faster, but he didn't notice. He was too busy honing in on the high level of strength that had just caught his attention, like a hornet's nest buzzing at the base of his skull.
The stranger wasn't a Hollow, or the screaming would probably have started already. That left several options; High-powered humans, Fullbringers, Shinigami, or Quincy sprang to mind at first. The Hellhound wasn't used to this kind of encounter; most of his time with another high spiritual energy was either with his dad or fighting Hollows. This felt different from either. Felix stood up slowly, long coat billowing behind him.
The mercenary just stood there for a minute. It was hard to decide on a course of action. The 9mm handgun he used for normal threats sat neatly in a shoulder holster, with the clip in the pocket below it, ready to be loaded with one fluid motion. On the other hand, a gun wouldn't really do much against whatever was behind him, should his senses be accurate. He didn't dare turn around to ascertain the nature of the threat. Rather, he started walking forward, away from it.
Suddenly, without preamble, Felix reversed direction and activated Bringer Light to launch himself into the air and land behind the source of the power, drawing the Special Weapon form of his Fullbring out into the open, the oversized blue-and-gray gun forming in his hand and hovering just away from the stranger's head. A few odd looks were directed Felix's way, but the weapon, made out of reishi, was invisible to most humans. Carefully, in a voice void of anger, fear, or compassion, he asked, "Who are you?"
