Public Service Announcement
#1
Greetings, everyone!

Due to a variety of circumstances, staff has been having trouble in keeping everything updated. This has resulted in (significant) delays, which has in turn resulted in some frustration and discontent among members. This is perfectly understandable and we have no qualms about the fact that people bump the relevant threads and remind us that things require updating. We make mistakes and miss things, so it's perfectly reasonable for members to ask again that we take a look at something we neglected.

Unfortunately, this has also lead to some members pestering and making snarky remarks at staff members via the Mini-Chat and PMs, making the life of those staff members very unpleasant. Leaving the fact that requesting for game-related updates in the Mini-Chat isn't allowed aside, it is worth reminding everyone that this isn't our job. While our dedication and sense of obligation to the site do make us try to help keep things running as much as we can, we're neither willing nor are we able to be on call 24/7. Sometimes, even we just want to be able to take our time to relax and hang out with the rest of the community; after all, our wonderful community is partially what motivated us to become staff in the first place.

As such, we would kindly request that members do not harass staff members for updates via Mini-Chat, PMs or other personal contacts. If there is anything that hasn't been updated in more than 72 hours. you may call attention to it by posting in the relevant threads or in the Help Desk. We apologise if our response time has been less than stellar in recent times, but this isn't because we don't pay attention to the forums. So please use appropriate channels for any game-related updates. It makes life easier for everyone involved and also ensures that a staff member will get to your request in due time.

We are not only already working on catching up with unfinished updates, but also on making structural changes to staff that will ensure more prompt updates in the future. So we kindly ask for your patience and understanding. Thank you.

I don't recall giving you permission to make speeches! Get back to work you slacker!

Jokes aside, no problem with this.

I think its more of an issue of everyone getting ready for the tournament that has everyone on edge and rushing about.

I think its an issue of people needing to do something else and stop expecting everything right away. Its been happening long before the coliseum was announced. There needs to be less self entitlement and more understanding.

Oh yeah, it has been a long time problem, to the point that it's in the OOC rules.

And here's the clinch people: Almost none of the things that the mods need to update prevent you from writing. You can KEEP WRITING no matter what the mods do or don't update, for the most part. There's very little preventing anyone from continuing their stories.

This was so badass, it needed saying twice.

Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!

In recent times, it has come to our attention that certain members have begun to treat the Skype contacts of staff members as their own personal staff hotline, pestering them for updates on a regular basis. In some cases, this behaviour has become so frequent that the affected staff members have begun to feel very uncomfortable about being online. As such, I am bumping this as a reminder that the above PSA still applies.

Furthermore, I would also like to remind everyone that harassing staff is against our OOC Rules of Conduct. We understand that you are eager to learn the results of your quest attempt or to get that sweet new move you thought of, but staff members are members as well. We don't exist to be at your beck and call, so please don't abuse our personal contacts and keep any inquiries regarding site-related updates to the Help Desk. Any infringing members that persist with this kind of behaviour will be penalised.

Thank you for your understanding and we hope you're enjoying the site.
