Considering my thread is somewhat long and filled with flowery details and I want to make sure that anyone can join easily, I'll give a quick little summary:
Arius, pretty new to Coruscant, but starting to get a feel for the city, goes down to the middle tiers, where he finds a human to drink blood from. After having his little snack, he looks around for anything interesting, but finds not many primaries around. He then decides to head back up and go to the "Outlander club", where he sits at a bar counter, hoping to have more luck at finding anything.
Now who wants to join this splendid little sandbox thread of characters meeting each other? I sure do. If I could be any more obvious about that, I'd wave a banner across all of the Omniverse.
Now post! Post like the Dickens. The snowpocalypse surely did not eat all of you in its wintry maw.
I've been meaning to reply to this for a couple days now, but it's been slipping my mind. Here's the deal, learned from my own experience. Usually just opening a thread and saying, "Hey guys, let's write together" won't be enough to get anyone interested in writing with you. Unfortunately for you, most of the In Character relationships going on right now were developed during the first couple weeks of the Scramble, when we got our big influx of players. Fortunately for you, Omni has recently posted an event which will most likely draw quite a few characters to it. My suggestion? Hop in on this event, write with a few people, talk to them OOC via the thread, and start working on figuring out a way, with anyone who's interested, in writing together.
Of course, it might not work out for you even then, but you'll have a better chance of picking up someone to write with during an event or story than just by putting out an invitation. Another suggestion would be to have a specific place you want your story to go to. For example, myself, Thaal, and Eighteen discussed at length where our story was going to end up before we started writing together. We left the details vague to allow us some creative freedom, but having an end goal for your story AND your character will greatly help you with your personal writing, as well as getting people interested in where your story is going.
I was thinking of doing that, except that Arius is a vampire currently observing The Masquerade. Therefore, he still thinks it is best that no one knows that he is a vampire or has magic powers. I was hoping that this could slowly be leaked out as an interesting thing for someone to try to uncover or discover, therefore creating conflict between Arius and whoever first finds out --if anyone ever finds out. However, I do want to get involved with the other characters; it's been awhile since I have joined and I have not gotten the chance to rp with anyone really.
Thus, I think I will try that, though I will need to stretch the imagination of Arius's power... Perhaps I shall spend my Omnilium. Could you, or Omni, please make a purchases and deductions thread for Arius, please? I need to make some purchases there.
The only other problem is that if I join, I will start roleplaying it by saying it is night time. That is the only way Arius could be on the scene --unless Omni made it canon that the light of the Omniverse does not affect him, which I feel somewhat takes away from the whole vampire thing. I mean, with time, I might be able to rp Arius talking to the mage's guild and getting an artifact or magic that could protect him from sunlight.
Any thoughts or considerations at this point?
And thanks, for the reply, Ganon

When it comes to inherent storyline weaknesses (like vampirism, or the devil fruit weakness to water/the sea) I basically leave it up to the player to enforce if you want to. Omnilium can do anything storyline-wise, so you can use it to remove his weaknesses, but obviously you might enjoy writing that downside so I let you decide. Obviously the hard part is just figuring out a satisfactory way to do it.
Curious about me and the characters I play? See the 'Staff' page! See also the rosters for my characters Samus Aran or Enel if you'd like to see examples of well-formatted rosters. Hope you enjoy the Omniverse!
My suggestion for the weakness: Since Uriel (I believe that's who put the no sun curse on vampires in the Book of Nod) isn't a part of the Omniverse, it would stand to reason that the curse would be weakened here. If you still want the weakness for story reasons... well, here's something I thought up. Because the curse isn't as strong in the Omniverse, you're not as sluggish in the daytime as you would normally be. Obviously, direct sunlight will still cause you damage, but covering your skin sufficiently and staying in shaded areas can bring that down to slight pain or discomfort, on par with a mild sunburn.
What Ganon has now stated is my accepted Omniverse canon for this. Without Uriel, the curse is weakened as so. Thanks folks! And if any character has a holy light power, I'd consider it aggravated damage.
That's, of course, up to you. When either myself or Omni judge a fight where that happens, however, we won't take any story-based weaknesses into account. You're free to write as it hurting you more than another kind of attack, but we won't hold it against you, is what I'm saying.
