Neal's OC Redesign
#1
So Neal started with telekinesis, but methinks IC he'd decide that was a "noob mistake" which he plans on reconciling. This thread is the place where I'll work on the redesign as a whole until it can be applied. Suggestions are welcome, but please no one line posts, if you have something to add, please be thorough and try to answer the obvious questions, and if questions are asked, please edit instead of reposting. I just want to keep this short and simple as a reference and too many posts would make it hectic. Edits could have a time-stamp and quote of the question for a Q/A fluidity.

I'll start the ideas in the next thread, for OCD organizational purposes.

I think there is an artefact in the works where the obtainer can reallocate all of their earned OM

So I was going to have Neal go straight up psionic, but I thought better of it. His history states him as a gamer and a lover of anime and whatnot, so I thought "Why not give him a resource pool?" Games have them all the time, and some Anime's too. Bleach and Naruto have Reitsu and Chakra respectably.

So, Neal's going to move into having multiple resource pools of finite abilities which level as he does with a predetirmined ratio that I'm more than happy to discuss. Moves will have either a cost or a static reserve.

This is going to be a conscious construct designed within Omniphysics that both limits and empowers him. "But you can't add power like that!" you might say... It's not physical power, but an intillectual power. Knowledge of your limitations lets you turn a brawl into a battle of strategy, which plays to Neal's strength.

The Way of Life is generally expressed through Health Points [HP]. Unlike other Resource Pools, Health does not grow with each level. It can be modified through powers, but not moves, and acts as a truly finite source. As a Prime, Neal has 20 points of health. At 0, he dies, but as all Primes know, he is reborn in the Nexus. Death's only penalty comes apparently from OM.
  • Resource Pool: Health Points [HP]
    20 HP
Production: Naturally generates through breathing, eating and rest.
Regeneration Rate [RR]: One point per level per hour, or L=RR
Stress Level: < 20% to Regenerate >90% inflicts -5 HP

The Way of the Body uses Chi. Chi empowers the body and enables greater speed, strength and durability. Chi is used mainly within the body, but it can be used externally, often through direct contact. Transmission through the air (for example, through energy beams) uses massive stores that Neal does not have.
  • Resource Pool: Chi [Chi]
Base of twenty-five, multiplied by level or 25L = Chi
Production: Naturally generates through breathing, eating and rest.
Regeneration Rate [RR]: One point per level per hour, or L=RR
Stress Level: < 25% to Regenerate, >90% inflicts x2 Chi cost

The Way of the Mind is quantified in Psy, (Not pounds per square inch) the culmination of all mental aspects: Charisma, Courage, Emotion, Intellect, Wisdom, Personality, Perception. Psy can be used to literally warp all of reality, however the amount of focus and cost for such power makes them far beyond Neal's capability, never mind the inefficiency and incalculable risks.
  • Resource Pool: Psychic Energy [Psy]
Base of one hundred, multiplied by level or 100L = Psy
Production: Naturally generates naturally through too many methods to count.
Regeneration Rate [RR]: Five points per level per hour or 5L=RR
Stress Level: <50% to Regenerate, >90% inflicts x5 Psy usage

The Way of Darkness uses Dark Matter [DM] and Dark Energy [DE] to create solid objects or powerful energy to enable various Moves. Darkness, as a resource, is undefined, massless and non-existential. Only when "defined" does it become useful. Similar to Psy, Darkness can have an infinite array of uses, but though the cost is much more attainable, the concentration is far too great. and Darkness is not stable long-term without additives.
  • Resource Pool: Darkness [D]
Base of fifty, multiplied by level or 50L = D
    Production: Is not naturally produced
Regeneration Rate [RR]: No current regeneration method
    Stress Level: No stipulations

The Way of Power is the smallest resource available, however it is the most powerful. Acting like catalysts, the Super Points enable superior moves, transformations or grants greater power to the user.
  • Resource Pool: Super Points [SP]
One per level or L = SP
    Production: Naturally generates
Regeneration Rate [RR]: One point every two hours, or .5=RR
Stress Level: <20% to Regenerate, >30% to use

The Way of Omni is simply the use of Omnilium to empower one's person, or fabricate objects. Similar to Darkmatter, Omnilium is stable when creating an object, and does not rapidly deteriorate. Essentially, Omnilium is permenant, wheras Darkmatter is meant for only temporary uses. It is also slower to generate and shape than Darkmatter (when in moves) but has no limit on the amount the user can contain. Omnilium can be generated infinitely, albeit slowly, through everyday activities.

Stress Level indicates simply how stress Neal is. At higher stress levels, some abilities are locked, some are enabled. Generally, the higher the stress level, the more agitated Neal is. There are a few preset values:
  • Active Combat = 20%
    Illness = 5%/Symptom
    Injury = 5%/HP lost

Info: Focusing Chi across the surface of the body to better absorb damage.

300? - Iron Fist
Cost: Sustained 5Chi/Att
Total: Infinite

300? - Darkmatter Armor:
Cost: Sustained 10D/Def, (5Psy+2Chi) each following post
Total: 13 posts or until broken
Lethal: Nonlethal
Prof:
Powers:
Info: An armor that, in theory, doubles defense. However, like HP, there is a limit to the amount of damage armor can take before breaking, leaving the body exposed. The constant physical and mental drain make Darkmatter armor impossible to use indefinitely, but it can be a lifesaver in a fight.
Drawbacks: If the armor is completely shattered, stress rises by 10%.
